Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 128

Good morning - It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! Here is the deal: make a card with this layout and use the InLinkz button down at the very end of this post to enter your card. The links will close on Friday at 10 PM (Mountain Time), and I'll randomly select one card to feature on my blog on Saturday. So, as long as your card is linked by 10 PM Friday, your card will be in the drawing. Be sure to link directly to the blog post or gallery image which features your card. You may post a picture of the sketch on your blog, but please save the image to your computer first. Use the keyword SSSC128 if you plan to post your card in an online gallery.

I stopped by the My Favorite Things booth at CHA last week and picked up a "few" more stamp sets and this Little Loveosaurus is the lucky one to be inked up first.  Isn't he cute?  I've been eyeballing him for a looong time and he practically jumped into my hand when I was browsing.  I stamped him in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored him with Copics.  I kept the layout simple and didn't add any extra layers (not counting the scallops).  Just a super sweet and simple card for a super sweet boy.

The Sweet Sunday Stampers have amazing sketch samples to show you today, so stop on by to see:
Thanks for taking on the challenge this week!

Bee Happy

Hey, it's Friday!  This week has absolutely flown by and I am SO ready for the weekend, how about you?  Today I'm using a couple of sets from Taylored Expressions that I haven't used in quite some time, but seeing them in the TE booth at CHA made me itch to get them inky!  I started by stamping the bees and beehive from Garden Party Critters in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copic markers.  The circle accents is a flower from Garden Party Blooms and I stamped it in Yellow Ochre Fluid Chalk Ink.  I used both the Medium Scallop Border and Scalloped Eyelet Border dies for the scallops along the edges and added the branch from the Birds & Branch die set so my bee hive didn't look like it was just floating there.  The papers are Stella & Rose Gertie by My Mind's Eye.  I used Jen's Deconstructed Sketch 11 for the layout, which is so super cute!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful weekend!
Karen

There She Goes Preview | Day THREE

Welcome back to day three of TSG sneaks!  It's an exciting week here for There She Goes and the Trendsetters have a fun little blog hop to kick off the new release - PLUS you have a chance to win some goodies, so keep reading and find out the details. The hop started off at There She Goes, but if you came to my blog from Jessie's, then you're at the right stop.

Peacocks, and hippos and snakes, oh my! Judy Rozema was our lucky winner from this year’s Mother Of All Blog Hops and one of her prizes was the chance to work with TSG to design a stamp set in a theme of her choice. She said that she would like a fun zoo stamp set that incorporated some animals that are different than you might find in other stamp sets and we knew just who the perfect illustrator would be for this! Melyssa’s adorably whimsical zoo animals will have you going wild!

Zoo-pendous is a 6x8 set that will sell for $24.

Hee hee!!!  You are seriously going to LOVE this set - it's so cute!  There is a little something in there for everyone!  I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with copics - I've never seen a snake look so cute!  I used a Wonky Rectangles Nestabilities to cut out the background.  The kraft paper is embossed with the polka dot embossing folder by Quickutz.  I used my corner rounder on the sentiment to make it look like a little tab tucked in between the cardstock layers.  I used more Lime Twist Fly a Kite paper from My Mind's Eye and the sketch is Sweet Stops's SSS116.

Would you like a chance to win the Zoo-pendous stamp set? Here’s what you need to do- go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their Zoo-pendous Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished checking out the eye candy and have left some love, return to the TSG Blog and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this Blog Hop Challenge post. A winner will be chosen randomly using a random number generator to receive their very own Zoo-pendous stamp set. The winner will be announced Saturday July 30th during the Release Party Chat.

Next on the blog hop is the super fabulous Melyssa!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

The hop started off at There She Goes, but if you came to my blog from Jessie's, then you're at the right stop.

Awhile back Torico had posted some of her sketches on her Facebook page and this adorable boy and his puppy got lots of attention! So many of you said that it needed to be made into a stamp and we agreed. Not only is this mini set great by itself but it can also be combined with many of Torico’s other TSG stamp sets for even more versatility!

Float My Boat is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 9 stamps and will sell for $7

This just makes me smile!  Look how cute this boy and his dog are - I love it!  I grabbed my Splash paper again and I adore those big polka dots!  I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them with Copics and cut it out with an oval Nestabilities die.  I added some white stitched ribbon and a few nailhead stickers over the sentiment flag - so cute!

I'm back to stamping those darling Pure Innocence Girls again and this one is from Pucker Up - SO cute!   I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored her with Copics and then paper pieced the table with some Lime Twist Life of the Party paper, but now it kind of looks like the sign is just sort of sticking on the front of the table instead of hanging there,  oops!  haha!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past Blog Hop

Good morning!  Can I just tell you how fun this month's Blast From the Past theme was?  The theme is Sending You Sunshine, I can't wait to hop around and see all of the bright and cheery, sunny projects!  Sankari rocked a new sketch for the challenge and I had a blast putting this card together.

I changed my card to a 5x5 square to accomodate all the fun elements from Hangin' Out - At the Beach and I was able to use my new Palm Tree Die too!  I started by stamping the images in Memento Tuxedo Black on Choice Snow White cardstock and colored them with Copic Markers.  The palm tree is actually stamped twice and I cut the tree top out again and popped it up on foam tape to add some dimension.  I cut the surf board and flowers out by hand and added some Yellow Pearls to the centers of the flowers and up in the corner of the card. The sun was made with some Splash paper using the sun die from the Garden Party Blooms Die Set 2 and I sponged the edges with Memento Tangelo ink.

Here are the dies I used in today's card:

I've been working on a crazy amount of cards this week - getting ready for CHA!  Anyone going?  I'll be at the Taylored Expressions booth along with Sankari, Danielle, and of course Taylor, so stop on by and say hello, make a few make & takes and take pictures - Taylor's booth is always adorable.   In the spirit of CHA, I've made a card using Life Is a Circus from TE along with some sweet Lime Twist Out of the Blue papers.  I kept this one fairly simple and didn't add a lot of layer.  I substituted the 3 brads at the bottom of the sketch for a sentiment and then added a couple of Island Lagoon rhinestones on the image panel instead.  I added a fun litle scallop border using the Small Scallop Border Die.

Here is the Taylored Die I used on today's card:

I picked up another favorite set from There She Goes called Lighten Up - the little silhouette lamps just call out to me.  They love to be inked, what can I say?  I started by inking up the little lamp in Toffee chalk ink and then stamped a stand-out lamp in Warm Red chalk ink, you know, because that's the one that makes life brighter, right?  I added a few little rhinestones in the red lamp for some pop and then added a little satin button bow to accent the toffee color.

Just a quick little rabbit trail.  I'm a proud mom today - my daughter had her first ever softball tourney and her team came in second place.  I'm so excited for her!
Here is Avery with her daddy (who helped coach) and of course Andrew, who can't be near a camera without being in the shot.

...and moments before was getting cupcake wiped off his face.  Mmmm, dad lick. yuck.
He cleans up well, don't you think?

I still had Life is a Circus on my desk from the Taylored Expressions release week and so I inked it up again for grins and giggles - it's really difficult to resist especially when it's sitting next to a pack of Lime Twist Fly a Kite paper!  I stamped this sweet elephant in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored him with Copics and popped him up over a sheet of paper I embossed with the Stars Impression Plate.  For the thin little layers in the background, I used the new Star Border Die on both red and Choice Snow White cardstock creating the filled in star centers.  The stars in the corner were made with the Seeing Stars Die and I used a Nested Pennant Nestabilities die for the sentiment banner.

Here are the dies and impresson plate I used for my card:
