Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, guess I'll eat some worms...

Because, some days arent unicorns and butterflies, and that's OKAY!
This was the theme song of my last week. Pity party much? A full grown grumpy mama, thats what we had on our hands. Actually, it was really a two day grump-fest, but for the sake of telling a story, I will go with the whole week thing.
LOSING-I hate to admit it, but I hate LOSING(is that terrible?)! When we play volleyball on Wednesdays, it stinks to be on the other end of several ladies atomic serves(which I admire). When the score reaches 0 to 10, I am not really having a ton of fun...I'm just sayin'.
POUNDAGE-I must have heard somewhere that theres an eating contest, because I have packed on a solid 10lbs. I have earned it too. I have had a love affair with Cheetos that can't be explained...and the orange fingers to prove it.
SCHOOL- I realized that I read the discussion rubric wrong, because I got some F's last week. Not cool, so many tears and a good headache were had. Spoke with professor, now I know what he expects.
SLEEP- Or, lack of it. When Shayne is gone, you can expect that I am still awake around 2am. My anxiety has gotten worse over the years, and I don't know what to do about it.
FRIENDS- I need to accept whatever particular friends can give to the friendship, and not worry about the rest. Live in the moment. Its hard, even at 34 years old, not to get hurt feelings or feel forgotten. This goes back to my gripe about not having sisters, and thats not fair, and at the end of the day, I am still NOT the sister, just the friend, sniff, sniff...
Speaking of sniff, sniff....ALLERGIES...enough said.
So, as you can see, I am a big baby. There are just those days when ONE thing goes wrong, that you are crying to husband, who, by the way, doesn't know what to do with his hysterical wife. "I'm fat, stupid, so and so doesn't care about me, tired". Us girls like to lump in all of our woes into one cry.
I'm better this week. I cleaned the garage, we made a run to the city dump (things like that make me so happy!) ,Shayne isn't traveling, my grades have improved, moving forward, bring on the unicorns...

Look at me...I'm a grownup!

Don't you sometimes wonder how you got to the age you're at? I am pretty sure that I was in my friend Michelle's room, listening to MCHammer just yesterday (and considering if I could get away with the Debbie Gibson hat look)
Now, I am a mom, paying taxes and planning for retirement. In all the thirteen years of marriage, we have ALWAYS had TWO car payments. Pretty dumb. Today I just paid off my FIRST CAR EVER...WOOHOO!!! The truck is finally paid off, and the van will be at the end of this year. Major milestones in the Kellie financial planning world.
I used to really be into new cars, and that has changed. My van is well broken in (stains on the ceiling and paint peeling) but that is so okay with me. I would love a new suburban, but I just don't want to pay a $600 car payment now, gulp. Not fun being car-poor.
So, the plan is to drive it till it dies. As long as I have air conditioning, and a radio that works, I'm good. Don't mind that petrified chicken nugget under the seat...its paid for!

The End...

..of kindergarten, 5th grade, 6th grade, baseball, volleyball...whew! Spring has been a MAJOR challenge with my schooling, and the kids activities. I handled this stress with much whining....and eating (bleh!) Baseball is a total commitment, with some weeks having 4-5 baseball practices/games in the evening. Not too easy when Shayne was gone to schlep the other two and be out until 10. At any rate, Jordan makes me proud because he is a respectful, supportive and positive player.

Kennedy finished 5th grade in Mrs Ambrose's class. What can I say about Kennedy? She makes her bed everyday without being asked (huh?), loves to accessorize, and is mastering the art of texting. She is funny, helpful, and takes school and volleyball seriously. Shayne and I look at each other and wonder how we got so lucky sometimes.

And then there's Drew. My little Drew-bearski-boo. I am conflicted about the end of kindergarten. The schedule stinks, because as soon as you get into town, you have to rush home to meet the bus. But, getting that little boy off the bus is the best part of the day! His little face is like sunshine to me, and I will miss our lunches out and the quiet time we have together before the kids get home.

The kids are already enjoying the treats of summer such as swimming, day camps, and popsicles. I am in summer school, and am just counting down the weeks (sociology and macroeconomics...boring!) until the semester is done.

*BTW... the ShayneDiet does work if you stick with it. I lasted a whole 4 days, lost 5 pounds and have probably gained then back. Oh well, life goes on.
