Paperartsy Inspiration - Face ART

Hi ya, I know two posts in one day, I actually had a couple of hours after the last blog post to have another play to enter the Paperartsy Inspiration Blog and of course this weeks designer is the awesome Ellen Vargo.  Now when I first saw her stamps one of the stamp sets just kept peeping at me, seriously I could see a face staring back so I thought, why not, might as well have a go at a face art ATC.  All the background is the same as the earlier card so I shall just add the extras on the supplies I used below.  As you know I tend to use only Paperartsy for these projects as it means all of them get out to play once a week :-).

This ATC is available to swap :-)

Right I better go and enter it before time runs out lol.  Mind you it's not about the entering really, it's about the fun and also showing Ellen how fantastic her stamps are :-).
Happy Crafting

WOYWW 246

Hi all, just quickly popping on to show my extra messy really got to sort craft room lol, I'm sharing with everyone over at The Stamping Ground where Julia hosts a What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday :-)

Underneath the paper are some mop up tags I have been changing
for an article, as you can see I do have lots of scrap tags that
have been mopping up ink, paint, sprays and what I use for techniques :-)
On the black plastic drawers are some stamps that I am preparing to use
and a black painted box that I am decorating for ATC's.

My dumping desk is a real dump lol, but has some gorgeous new
Paperartsy products lounging around being ready for a play tomorrow :-)

Yep I so need to sort, I still have crimbo bits out, I had been so poorly I
haven't managed to pop anything away yet as I have been
on catch up since beginning of Feb when I began the road of recovery lol.
I am feeling so much better I think the only thing is being tired
but I guess bodies have to recover lol.

EEEk my stamps are taking over again, I really
don't know what to do about storing everything lol.
I don't want to buy anything big for storage as we won't
know until December 2014 if our house will be demolished for a train line.
Of course if it is it won't happen for a few years yet, but I prefer
to wait and save so I could buy storage that fits if we do end up having to
move.  Mind you any simple ideas would be brilliant :-)

Right I shall be off, as usual I have been waffling lol.  Thank you all for visiting, I will be visiting over the next few days to see all your wonderful creative desks.
Happy Crafting :-)

Creative Expressions - Tick Tock

Hi ya, yep it's time again for my creation for the Creative Expressions Blog and if you can remember the chalkboard I did last week then this is the matching clock.  Some of the pictures are repeated again for the beginning of the process, this is purely for anyone who hasn't seen last weeks project, which you can find here.  As always I shall highlight in red the products you can view and see stockists over on the Creative Expressions Website.  They also do lots of step by step projects and also shows you new and up coming products.

The matching clock, I used the outside of the frame, I made a circle
for the middle and attached it with acetate.

Both together.

And now for the step by step .........

This is what we started off with, the Creative Expressions Baroque Frame Square.

For the clock I used the outside of the frame and die cut a circle from
heavy card with Spellbinders Circle Dies

They both got painted with Eco Green Black Paint (sorry
I know these photos were on last weeks as well)

I love the Matt surface you end up with :-)

Here are all the tests I did, in the end I used Cosmic Shimmer Watercolours
green pearl, olympic gold, golden scarlet, blue pearl and lilac pearl.

I embossed the Creative Expressions Floral Background Stamp with
Ranger Perfect Medium and Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder.

Here is the middle part embossed.

Now this is where I made a huge mistake, initially I thought that
I would only have the background around the edges, but I did one side
and didn't like it, I hadn't got another frame, so I stamped the
floral background as close as possible up to the existing embossing.
It actually didn't look bad at all, and matched up ok, I did use a versamark
pen to make links so it all looked connected.

I loved the frame as it was, but I knew it would look better with pops of colour :-)

I really wish I could show you these in real life, the main pictures doesn't do
it justice, the mica sparkle from the watercolours on black is amazing.
I think I shall be having everything black with these colours lol.

Next you need to add the circle to the acetate, then put a hole in the middle.

Next add the clock attachment.

As you can see, the circle is attached to the acetate, but the
clock isn't.

Next glue the acetate to the back of the clock with Cosmic Shimmer Glue.

Like the chalkboard, I decided for them to match and the fact
the clock will be living in the kitchen, I used Cosmic Shimmer
Clear Varnish Lacquer over the front of the clock.
Next attach the tick tocks and a battery and your all set to go :-)

Hope you enjoyed the second part of the decor creations, if you have any questions, please comment or email and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Happy Crafting :-)

Paperartsy Inspiration - My Friend Julie-Ann

Hi ya, just popping on to enter the inspiration challenge over on the Paperartsy Blog and this weeks designer has been the awesome amazing Julie-Ann Lee, please pop on over there to see her gorgeous creations. Also a lot is going on this week with loads of blog posts on all their new products with lots of samples so it's certainly worth grabbing a cuppa and having a read :-)
Julie-Ann is a very good blog friend and we email each other frequently and have a good chat about everything, I feel like I can tell her anything and she always listens, and I hope she feels the same way :-).
But our artwork is very different, hers is very shabby chic, elegant, vintage and distressed and she her work always inspires me, she always has a story behind the art and she is very very interesting, me I'm more chuck some paint around and hope for the best lol.  So I really really wanted to support her through this Paperartsy journey and join in with each challenge but I have found it so hard.  I even had my tags ready last Sunday evening and loved her spraying fresco paint on the backgrounds, but then that was it.  Every single idea just didn't feel good enough, I wanted to show how much she inspires me, but everything I tried looked awful.  I really thought last night I wouldn't be able to join in :-( but this morning I sat putting away the tags feeling sorry for myself lol and suddenly thought, I can't do her style or art justice, but I could show her how much I care and this is how I ended up with the following tags :-)

Most of the stamped images are Lynne Perrella by Paperartsy,
as Julie-Ann loves her images,
actually all the products are Paperartsy as we
both love their products.  I even managed to include a new stencil
and new stamp range Ellen Vargo by them lol.
All details of products used are at the bottom of the page.
Each tag has a meaning which I shall go through, just like
Julie-Ann has lots of stories with her art :-)

As I was doing each tag I popped on the back what it meant.
Eeeek look at the backs, definitely not neat lol.

Well this is quite obvious lol, the actually tag was a large
one that I was mopping up the paint spray with, but I ended up
using all the other tags, so I die cut the large one for the front cover.

I took all the pictures on their side, don't know why lol.
I have turned them the right way but they look a bit odd so I have included
both ways :-)
All the tags have a feather stamped on it, either hidden or obvious.
The reason for this is Julie-Ann uses feather images a lot and
did in this weeks awesome project.  I did try making the
feather out of the stamped image like she did, but I only had this small one from
which is way to small.
This tag represents how much I love your art Julie-Ann,
each creation inspires me so much, you amaze me in the
way you look at something and then completely change it to
add to your art, each individual detail is always so intricate and gorgeous.

This tag represents how Julie-Ann your so full of
knowledge, be it fact or fictional you always make your
art a truly awesome story, I have not only
been truly inspired by your work, but also how much
I have learned through your knowledge, through your eyes.

This tag represents our friendship, you definitely are such
a beautiful friend to have, you wear the crown because you don't
just make me feel special but you make each person you meet feel
special, it's truly a gift.  I wish you could believe in yourself more.
The key is to represent the key to friendship, and how
you unlock so many doors that I have always felt were hidden or locked.

This tag represents London, the city that we are definitely going to meet
this year at Ally Pally, be it April or later on in the year.
It will be so exciting to meet you, but also to share looking at all those
Paperartsy goodies :-)

This tag represents NEW, ok a bit corny, but the stamp
is the new Ellen Vargo stamp set by Paperartsy.
It represents how this year for both of us will be new beginnings,
mine personal and yours your new found venture,
a Paperartsy designer, well deserved, and I so wish
you so much happiness, health and art through this amazing
new experience :-) (blowing kisses)

I hope you like it Julie-Ann, and also everyone else.  Please go visit her, you will love all her creations and loving stories.
Happy Crafting :-)
