Our Family is Growing!

Perry and Katreen are engaged! They will marry on July 10, 2009. Wedding plans are almost complete. They have quite a story of God's faithfulness in their lives.
We have enjoyed raising a family of all boys. Now, our four sons have each brought a wonderful woman into our family circle. Yes, God is faithful.

Rapid CIty rendezvous

Ellen and I went to Rapid City for 3 days, to visit Jody (her daughter), Jamie, and their three children.
One highlight was Ellen's and my walk amongst the presidential statues in Rapid City. Ulysses Grant and I are spending a moment together.
Jody, Nicole (17 months), and Ellen on Jody's front porch as we say "goodbye" after a delightful weekend together. Jody is smiling because she just whomped Ellen and I at marbles.

212 Storage is expanding

Economic times may be hard, but the storage business is bursting at the seams. Kevin has decided to build 8 additional 11X 10 foot storage units in the quonset in our back yard. Getting that first wall of new construction up can be tricky!
Jori and Brandi are helping Kevin move boards.
Work is progressing. Kevin purchased the yellow scaffolding for this project. Kevin is walking toward the east overhead door. He will replace that large door after the units are completed.
As you can see, the units do not go to the front of the building. A tractor and boat will be stored in the open for Bruce Wherry, who helps us run the units when we are out of town.
Kevin loves the rolling 7'H X 6'W doors for the 8 units. Installation easier than previous models.
Candice is visiting with Kevin. The steel gives a finished look to the units.

Sisters

Candice and I spent our first Easter together since we were children. After attending her new church, Richland, we had dinner at Perkins in Aberdeen. Daryl and Kay Swanhorst joined us. What a rich family day.

FInally! Dreams Come True!

After a career with the post office, Candice's long-awaited retirement day has come. At 6 AM on March 1st, Candice leaves her home in Georgia to move back to her roots in South Dakota.

The Moving Caravan

Kevin led our group with a large billboard type U-Haul truck. Candice & I followed in our cars. Two 700 mile days of driving took us from Atlanta, Georgia to Cresbard, SD. Once we were headed home, there was no stopping us!

Where did those ladies go ????????

Invariably, when we talked on a cell phone, Candice and I would go into auto-pilot and stop following Kevin.

Three is Company

Candice enroute with her dogs. Dakota, her third dog, is in the back seat. During road stops, Candice made friends everywhere when she walked her dogs with a triple dog leash. A gentleman referred to our energetic sister as our "daughter".

Winter Wonderland!

As the sun sets, Candice arrives at her new home in Cresbard. Her 3 dogs have never seen snow.

Florida Keys Highlight

The water birds were my favorite part of the Florida Keys. This egret kept me company during a walk along the Key West dock.

Cat Curiosity

This six-toed cat is one of the residents at the home of Ernest Hemmingway in Key West, FL.

COUSINS

NOTE: Please do not pass on this information about Larry and Jill without permission. For family use only.
Larry is the International Coordinator for Field Ministries. Larry and Jill are both instrumental in reaching people who do not have the word of God in their tongue and hearts. As younger missionaries, Larry and Jill and their two young children entered a remote Indonesian village and embraced the people as they studied their culture and language. Twenty some years later they had not only written scriptures in these people's language, but a reproducing church of believers that is continues to serve the Lord today. Larry and Jill are now equipping others to do the same. Their jobs literally take them to the ends of the earth.

The Office

Kevin in with Larry in his office.
Larry is preparing to leave for a trip to South Asia tomorrow morning. He will be assisting several missionary couples who have completed initial language training to locate sites for their ministry.
