Dear Friends and Family-
Here goes, our family letter for 2015! We love thinking back over the year and being reminded of all we have been blessed with. 2015 was a great year. We have been married now for 13+ years. We are more in love today than we ever have been. We have definitely had our struggles, but we are so much better at getting through them than we ever have been. We love being parents despite how darn hard it can be at times. We are still living in Leeds, Utah and liking it. We got grass put in our yard this year which has been a highlight for us. The kids love it! This year brought about some really fun family trips, one to Bear Lake with my family, and then in October we went to San Diego and visited the Zoo, Seaworld and Legoland. We love traveling and hope to be able to do more of it next year. Nate and I went on our stake pioneer trek this year as a Ma and Pa and had a wonderful time!
Nate is busy working his tail off this year with his Christmas lights business. He does almost 100 homes. This year he hired 3 college students to do a lot of the work with was really nice! He loves his job at Small Town Auto in Hurricane selling cars. I better put a shameless plug in for him and let you know if you ever need a car, or need to know if the car you are buying is a good deal, give him a call! He also paints cars on the side and is always busy working on our list of “to do’s” for our house or yard. He finally, I mean sadly got released from all things Young Men’s this year and is now in the Elder’s Quorum presidency. It was a big adjustment, but he is enjoying it.
Kendra is staying busy being a mom to five kids. She loves being home with them and also homeschooling them. She runs her own blog, www.thethingsilovemost.com, which she has made into her own little business. She Is busy with that either really early in the morning or way late at night. It’s a lot of work, but has blessed our family with extra income and some great perks! She recently started a blog with her mom and sisters called www.TheMamaBirds.com which has been really fun! She teaches Sunday School at church to the 16 year olds and has had to learn to have patience with teenagers this year. Life is good, and she is grateful to be a mommy and a wife!
Madeline is now 12 and is almost taller than her mom. She has really worked on developing talents this year. During the summer she did a play at Brigham's Playhouse called Bridge to Terabithia, she had so much fun and learned a lot. She is in another one there in February called Honk. She joined the Cross Country at the high school this fall for all middle schoolers and is quite the runner. She can now outrun both her parents in long distance races!, In August she turned 12, received her Faith in God and is now in Young Women’s. Kendra cried all week that week because she hates that her only baby girl is growing up. Despite the fact that we don't’ want her to grow up, we love the little lady she is becoming. She loves art, dance, singing, playing her violin and is a great big sister!
Talmage is almost 10 and can’t wait to be double digits. He loves scouts and works hard in school. He loves to read and has finally found books that interest him. He played soccer in the spring and loves it. He even went to a British Soccer camp and learned a lot. He just got done playing Flag Football which he loves, but now he is begging us to play “Real Football” He is playing basketball right now and is really a great player! He is a happy, fun kid. He worked a lot on the weekend with Nate doing Christmas lights. Nate actually hired him and paid him, he is that good, except mom won’t let him on roofs.
Jack is 7, soon to be 8 and he is very excited to get baptised! He is learning to like school, but most importantly learning to love reading. He read his first chapter book this year and has soared through more. He loves sneaking a book into his bed at night, getting his flashlight and reading under his bedding. (We know he does it, but don't’ tell him that!) He loves playing soccer, and did really well this year! He also just got done playing Flag Football. He liked it, but soccer is still his favorite. He loves Legos, jumping on the trampoline, building stuff and his friends!
Bennett is 4 and is a sweet little man. He loves when his sister teaches him preschool and he can’t wait to learn to read. He is Mr. independent, except for when it comes to making is breakfast, which he wakes up very early to tell us he is hungry! Our new goal with him is to teach him to pour his own cereal since we both hate waking up at 6:30! His favorite toys are “Stuffies” or stuffed animals! He has a stuffed doggie that is as tall as he is. He would take it everywhere with him if he could!. He loves when his brothers teach him sports, playing Legos and Stuffies, telling everyone he isn’t a baby and trying to be a big boy!!
Easton is our baby and always will be. This little guy has us all wrapped around his finger, except when he lets out his Wright boy banshee yell, then we all run!) He loves his siblings especially his sweet sister who still shares a room with him until he is out of the crib! She sings him to sleep and gets him out of his crib each morning. He is a daddy’s boy, enough so that when he goes to say mom or mommy he starts it with Da---which ends up sound like “Dam or Dammy” ! What do ya do, he’s only 2! He loves our dog, and honestly sometimes we think he thinks he is one. We had to convince him to stop eating dog food and laying in the dog bed. He loves being outside, and playing with daddies tools in the garage! He like to eat, play legos with his siblings and riding his new scooter!
We sure love these kiddos and are so grateful to be their parents! We are grateful for this time of year when we can reflect on our Savior and his birth! We are grateful for the gospel and for all that we are blessed with! We hope you all have a wonderful 2016!
Love,
The Wrights
