Halloween 2015

Rosie and I got outvoted this year. (We weren't the emotions from Inside Out.) So we all went as classic spooky costumes. Ken and I were vampires (not pictured).
I had lots of fun trying to do make up for them (thank you internet!!!)

Patches

So, in early September, we started taking care of a kitten for a friend or a couple of weeks. They were in the middle of moving for a renovation and were saving Patches for their grandma, who would be moving into the area. It was great for us because we could decide if we were ready to have a pet in a temporary, no pressure trial period.

So we got to play with a sweet, curious kitten!

She's grown so much!

Well, more than a month went by and their grandmother was no longer in the position to have Patches, so our friends said they could pick her up, so she could get used to being an outdoor cat before the weather changed. But after spending a month with the most gentle, friendly and playful cat we've ever met, we asked if we could keep her! Both parties were relieved!

So, we have a cat now! It is sooner than planned, but we are happy to have her around.

RED Hair

For reasons that range somewhere between delayed teenage rebellion and early midlife crisis, I dyed my hair crayon red!

I definitely won't keep this color forever, but I am enjoying being surprised by my reflection!

Dad's Visit

It had been far too long since I'd seen my dear old dad! He made the long sojourn just to see us.

I picked him up in Seattle, so, naturally, we visited my cousin Lauren.

Millie and Rosie
These two look remarkably similar for second cousins!

Dad fulfilled one of his bucket list items- eating seafood in Seattle.
We ate at Duke's Chowder House with this amazing view just out the window!
Most of the weekend was spent watching general conference (and eating and talking way later than we should have!), but we did get to hike Badger Mountain.

Norah was stubborn and insisted on walking up most of the mountain herself. So we took turns holding her hand and sometimes carrying her (literally kicking and screaming) up the mountain to catch up.

Victory!

She was tired and crabby, but fell asleep while Ken jogged back down the hill with her.

Some great pizza.

A great time was had by all, and it ended far too soon.
Hopefully, it won't be long before the next trip!
