Cousin Messy Day

Tell boys that they are going to get to spend the night with all their boy cousins and get messy the next day and you get smiles all around from the youngest to the oldest.  Without any further explanation here are a few (and by few I mean a lot) pictures from our day.
No hands allowed for this breakfast!

After that it was time to get out the shaving cream and cheetos.
I love the laughter in this pic!

Don't think I did not get in on the action too!

Next up was the slide full of shaving cream, I think they enjoyed spraying the cream more than sliding down.

This is a fast slide to begin with, just add a little bit of slippery and you should have seen how fast he flew down!

The other boys were a little more apprehensive, but Brayden is willing to give everyone  a push!

Food Fight!!!!

I am about to get hit!

Planning a sneak attack when I come out

This is good enough for rinsing off, right?!?

Cousin Messy Day

I have figured it out!!! I have a problem, actually it is not a problem, the fact that I think it is a problem is the problem....lost yet?

I came across this blog post the other day
http://www.homesanctuary.com/rachelanne/2010/01/are-you-a-messy-perfectionist.html  and I had an
 A-HA moment.

There are things that I want to do, but don't because I don't have enough time/energy/desire to do them just right.  And then there is the problem that if I do not do it right, someone might know ...gasp...

 - I want to take more pictures of my kiddos, BUT they are not always the perfect picture that I want.

 - I want to write down memories and things about my children, BUT there are so many things I have not written down and I am not a journal keeper or scrapbook girl.

- I want my house to look put together, BUT my bedroom is painted a color that is a bit outdated and my bedding is not current.

- I want to post a picture of my kitchen (that people keep asking for), BUT we don't have the back splash done and I would need to clean the entire kitchen.

- I would like to post more, BUT i don't have a great picture or story to tell.

SO I am going to try to let go of my desire for it to be done a clean, cute and shall we say perfect (as I write this I even have trouble writing the word perfect, because I never do it perfect, so I don't want you to think I am saying I even CAN do it perfect...AAHHH)

- Here is a picture of Brayden, even though not perfect, it is documentation that he loves to pull up his stool and watch the washing machine fill up with water and start the wash cycle.  He is usually a bit upset when I make him close the lid so it can continue to run.

-I saw this on pintrest, even though not perfect and cute, it is a way for me to easily record memories.  Every day has a card and on that day I write down the year and something that happened that day.  I am not going to feel guilty about days that do not have things written down!!!

-Here is my bedroom, even though not perfect with current decor or even completely picked up.  Michael was nice enough to help me move the furniture around the other day to make it more functional

My grandmother's old vanity, that I love, now as an area for me to work.
A spot for me to sit and read, or just sit.

-My Kitchen, even though not perfect, here it is!!!  This one is exciting for us. Do you remember the before pics? http://keltner.blogspot.com/2011/11/if-you-watch-enough-hgtv-you-just-might.html  Well here it is now, after a couple months of living in chaos and dust (so much dust!!!) It has been fun to go from deciding to buy the house that needed some help to seeing it actually be helped:)

- And finally here is a blog post, even though not perfect (I think this is the most words I have ever written, and did you see how many of these ... I did and look at all the CAPITALIZATION and grammar mistakes) and just to be completely honest with you, here are my children while i am doing all this...glued to the tv watching teenage ninja turtles.

So here is to not having guilt feelings about what is not being done and enjoying the things that can be accomplished.  To soaking up the time I have with these three cute boys!  To living without the "should have could haves":)
