OTWC and CCC: purple fun

Blending a couple challenges in this card.
The colors were inspired by the Off the Wall Craftiness Challenge #47 while the design was inspired by the City Crafter Challenge #45: Nothing To It (no ribbon, button, flowers, etc).
Here's my flat "thank you" card.
I stamped the butterflies and colored them with my Prismacolor pencils.  Normally, I would have paper pieced them, popped them and added wire for the antenna, but I had the pull the reins back for the challenge.  I am really happy with how the colors worked with the kraft paper and how the butterflies pop without pop dots!

Here's the inside:

City Crafter Challenge:

Off the Wall Craftiness:

Supplies:
Stamps: Stampin Up "A Greeting for all Reasons" and "Short & Sweet", flourishes from a Target clearance
Ink: Memento
Paper: cardstock from stash
Other: Prismacolor pencils, glitter glue

Here was last week's sketch:

Arigato!

Ohayoo.
According to my quick search, that is the informal way to say "hello" in Japanese before noon.

The card I am sharing today is a combination of three challenges, two using paper piecing and one using a sketch.  The stamp set is on loan from my friend Bobbie at church (Ohayoo, Bobbie!).  As soon as I saw this little girl stamp I knew I wanted to add the pins and from there I had a lot of fun playing with her.

I stamped the girl on black and pieced the hair, on a solid from the BG "Olivia" pack for the bottom edge and a floral from the BG pack for her dress.  Not sure the twine is very Asian, but the color was PERFECT!  I gave her a red lip and some beautiful pins for her hair.

The banner is from Lawn Fawn's "Bannerific" set and the "thank you" greeting, "arigato" was stamped using Lawn Fawn's "Harold's ABC".

Here's the BG Sketch:

Challenges:
Lawnscaping #4: Paper Piecing  (this is my second entry)
Moxie Fab World: Paper piecing  (they have other challenges running simultaneously!)
Basic Grey Challenges #38 Sketch  (just found this place and I have lots of BG to play with)

Supplies:
Paper: Basic Grey "Olivia"
Stamps:  Lawn Fawn's "Bannerific" and "Harold's ABC", Hero Arts "Four Dolls"
Ink: Memento black, Distress Fired Brick and Peeled Paint
Other: Swirls Cuttlebug folder, Twinery "honeydew", pins from my mom, pop dots, Cricut "George" for oval,               flower punch, gems from HL

I am just tickled at how this turned out!

Limelight #67: bday card

Not much crafting time this week, but I was glad to complete one card.  I checked the calendar and we have 11 birthdays in March and April in the family.  Good time to make a birthday card or two or eleven!   I used the Sketch for the Limelight Papercrafts Challenge #67: Use String.  I picked up the Basic Grey paper pack "Cupcake" for $5 at Michaels and paired it with a small Basic Grey stamp set I picked up at Big Lots for .50!

I stamped the cupcake and hat, colored them with pencils, cut them out and decorated them with Stickles, dimensional paint (frosting) and glossy accents (candle stick).
I wrapped the top panel with MS baker's twine.

My 50 cent stamp score:

Here's the Sketch:

Supplies:
Paper: Basic Grey "Cupcake"
Stamps: Basic Grey
Ink: Memento black and Stampin up red
Other: stickles, Prismacolor pencils, liquid dimensional paint, tag, MS baker's twine, glossy accents

This card can be for a male or female any age.  Lovin' this paper pack!

Thank You: Cards for Kids Drive

Quick, but important post today to publicly thank  For the Love of Art.com
for being one of the sponsors in  the last round of the Cards for Kids Drive.

This drive is led by Jennifer McQuire with Jana Millen and Kristina as well as help from
Mary Kay and Heather Ruwe.

I was randomly drawn as one of the winners and received a gift certificate to For the Luv of Art.com.  I had so much fun shopping at the store and got lots of goodies and
ordered a few extras!

Here's the score:

I also picked up some baby blue and white Baker's Twine I forgot to put in
picture b/c I had it out for a card.

Norma even added the 2 Nikki Sivils papers in there!
One has some adorable record shapes... YUM!  THANKS!

SO great to get some boy papers.
I LOVE that Monster Stew and Robot paper.
I can't wait to use that for my boys' pages and
then for more cards for the next drive!
I think the black and white papers may turn into some card sets for gifts!

WM #42: scrap-a-licious entry #2

It's Scrap-a-licious
It's Scraptastic
It's Scrap-a-cool!

It's another card made from scraps!
This is my 2nd entry into the wee Memories "Use Your Scraps" challenge #42.

I designed this card for my card class next week that I am teaching at church to 1st and 2nd graders.  I grabbed one of the leftover paper pads from doing my niece's life album (due this June when she graduates HS) and punched circles.
I have other stacks too that I think my students will enjoy with this design.

I punched the circles and adhered them randomly, with some hanging off the edge:

Once they were dry, I cut off the edges to make it look like the circles were a part of the paper:

Sydney Dog came over to help with the photos:

With permission to share from her, here's a layout from my niece's album using the paper pad:

Supplies for card:
Paper: g.c.d. studios "Canta" line
Punch: 1 1/4" EK Success Paper Shaper
Stamp: Hero Arts "Everyday Sayings"
Ink: Memento, Distress Weathered Wood
Other: Baker's Twine, gem

Thanks for coming by today!
Have a wonderful!
~Kelly

P.S. I am still doing the P90X at 6 AM every morning.  I am on week 7!
*maybe* I'll share photos here of my rock hard biceps when I finish the 90 days, hee hee

Lawnscaping 3/Wee Memories #42

Hi there. I am combining 2 challenges in this project.

The wee Memories Challenge #42 was to use those SCRAPS!  Got plenty of those!

It's also time for another Lawnscaping Challenge where this week's theme was LOVE.

I have two boys.  They love chocolate and they love bugs so I teamed up a good old fashioned Hershey bar with a spider to make a little Valentine for them.

The web in the stamp set says "Happy Halloween" in the middle of it so I used some clear stickers I found at Hobby Lobby a while back and then stamped and paper pieced the little spider for the top. I grabbed a piece of pink from the scrap drawer b/c I thought pink made him more Valentine-y.    I LOVE Lawn Fawn's "Harold's ABC" set.  I was able to spell out all three words "web of love" and stamp them at the same time! That green paper is a scrap from MM's Chloe line (I think).  That's the pile it was in, ha ha

I stamped the spider's little feet on the top of the heart to make it look like he's holding it:

Standard size bar:

Here's my base.  I cut the paper 5 1/2" by 5 1/2".
 I then scored it at 1 3/8", 1 5/8", 3 7/8" and 4 1/8".
Top top panel (green paper) was cut at 2 1/4" by 5 1/2" to cover the top.

Supplies:
Stamps: "Heebie Jeebies" and "Harold's ABC" by Lawn Fawn
Ink" Memento
Papers: cardstock, green from MM Chloe (I think), stripe is from Amy Butler Lotus
Stickers: Hobby Lobby

Thank you to the sponsors for these challenges,
Michelle's Scrapboking and More and Lawn Fawn!
Thanks for coming by!

This is the last of three treat bags that I made for a teacher gift.

The bags were stamped with StazOn using an old heart set from Stampin' Up.
The lifesaver packs were covered with coordinating papers.

I used a white base for the topper and stapled it on and then decorated the top to hide the staple marks on the front.

Stamps:  "Bannerific" and "Harolds ABC" by Lawn Fawn, "Happy Hearts" by Stampin Up
Ink: StazOn and Memento Tuxedo black
