I know I know.... It's been forever

I'm sure if you followed my blog before, you probably have given up hope of me ever publishing a new post again. But miracles do happen and here we are. Since I can't really catch you up on the last 8 months in one post, I just chose my favorite photos from this summer. What's new with us? Not a ton! Just this:

and this:

We go to the lake in Cedar a lot :) It's so fun, the kids LOVE it, and best of all... its FREE!

Flying a kite at the park

My kids decided they like to smile when I take their picture, so now I actually enjoy taking lots of their faces :)

Summer rain! I love when it's warm enough outside to play in the rain.

Well it's not a very good summary, but it's something! I can't believe summer is almost over. Maybe I'll get better at posting in the fall when there are more holidays :)

A few weeks back we went sledding with our friends, the Miller's, who live across the street. So much fun!!

Lyvi LOVED it!

Love/Hate Relationship

I have a love/hate relationship with my blog... as you've probably noticed. Some people are so on the ball about posting about their lives, and I am just so not in the mood :). But today I'll do a little journaling... for posterity's sake :).
I've been graduated from college for 8 months now, and I've been having a hard time finding my purpose. I have always gone to school or had a job my whole life, and so now I am out of my element. It has gotten better as my kids have gotten a little older and more interactive, but for a while I felt a little lost. I didn't have any substantial evidence that I was accomplishing anything... no grades and no paycheck.
But life is still good. I am really grateful that I can stay home with my children. That is an opportunity some women don't have, so I know that I am lucky. And on to a brighter subject, I have really learned to love being a stay at home mom!
My kids crack me up. Ethan is really learning to talk, and not just for me to understand! He is OBSESSED with trains, loves to jump on the couch and the bed and the floor... anywhere, and he hates hates hates going to bed. You would think that after 2 1/2 years of sleeping, he would go down without throwing a fit, but he continues to surprise me. Lyvi has really come into her personality lately and man she is a fireball! She knows exactly what she wants and it doesn't matter what you do or say, she is going to get her way. She refuses to be spoon fed. She likes to have solid food in front of her to pick up herself and eat. She is crawling and pulling herself up on everything, and she loves to be hung upside down by her feet. She laughs and laughs.
Here is a couple of pictures I've snapped lately because I've been trying to figure out my new camera and my only guinea pigs are my kids :)

Also, my little brother Brandon got married over the weekend, and his wedding was beautiful! Here's him and his gorgeous new wife, Ali. Love them!

And now I babysit two adorable girls that are pretty much my kids' ages, so I have 4 kids under the age of 3 about 35 hours a week :). It's crazy sometimes but lots of fun! There's never a dull moment I'll tell you that.

And of course I love this guy
That's all for now!! I have high hopes of being back soon...

Mathewson Christmas Party 2011

We had our annual Mathewson Christmas party on Sunday Dec. 18th. We usually have it on the Saturday before Christmas, but Cory came home on Sunday from the National Guard. It was fun to see him, shaved head and all :). Mom went all out this year and the party was so much fun!

It's about time...

I'm back! It's been a long while, I know, but the past six weeks I've been babysitting two little girls 30 hours a week. I find I have much more time for things like blogging now that I am finished with that. :) Also, my interest in my blog goes up and down. But here's a couple recent scrapbook pages I just finished so enjoy :).
