Day 2

Today we got to Animal Kingdom at 7am. We did the Kilimanjaro's Safari. We went to Dinoland. The kids rode the rhinos. We went to the Bone yard and the kids dug in the sand for "bones." We saw Flights of Wonder. Neat bird show. We saw Finding Nemo musical. We saw It's Tough to be a Bug. The girls loved this. We watched the Lion King Musical. We got front row seats because they had trouble seating us together. We ate dinner at Tusker House. Huge buffet. Perfect for kids. We saw the parade. Mady kept saying "This is awesome." We went on the Jungle Trek. We got in about 7PM. It is so cold here. It's like we brought Arkansas weather with us!

Day 1

Today we flew from Memphis to Orlando. It was a direct flight. Worth the drive to not have to mess with that. We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge. It is beautiful and rustic! We had lunch outside. The kids loved exploring the hotel. We found an art class for kids there. The girls made pinwheels. So fitting because it was so windy. We ate dinner at Whispering Canyon. I recommend it. It is a good atmosphere for kids. We went to Downtown Disney. Tomorrow we go to Animal Kingdom! We can't wait. The best part of the trip is my Mom came with us. We are trying to find our way. Losing a parent isn't something you get over. Around the holidays it gets really sad. This trip helped us a lot.

Disney World

Disney world bound! We are so excited. We are sitting here at the Memphis International airport. The girls are super excited!
It has been stressful with the winter weather. Passed Little Rock, roads were good.

December in Pictures

This December MK has had tons of fun. She has been to a fundraiser for a volley ball team. She decorated ginger bread houses with friends. So fun! She has had a play date with cousins and friends. She went to a painting class at Hobby Lobby. We have been to a musical and a light show. We have seen Santa and visited a live Nativity scene. She loves Sparks and Mady loves Puggles. She has quite the social calendar. Mady has enjoyed just being with her! Mady has had a month of illnesses. Hope she gets on the mend!


I also have a new baby great nephew! That's the best way to have a baby! Ha!

I am the soccer mom

MK is playing soccer this year! With games every week and practices two times a week, I became an absentee blogger. Now she is doing 3v3 tournaments! So fun to watch. I have no athletic ability so I get a kick out of watching her.

1st Grade Field Trip

The first graders went to Petit Jean State Park today. We hiked in two different locations. We had a great picnic lunch. We made s'mores. Then the park rangers talked about animals that live on the mountains. The kids loved it! The leaves were gorgeous. So worth the drive!

These two are really becoming friends! They enjoy playing together! Very cute to watch them interact! Mady has to repeat everything MK says!

MK is a tomboy just like I was. She loves the outdoors and climbing trees.

In the moment

I read a devotion that really caught my attention. It said that you can't take anything to Heaven with you except people! We should really invest our time with people. Letting them know how special they are to God!

We should share our faith! I am going to do better with this.

Little Rock Zoo

Yesterday was the best day for visiting the zoo. It was 75 degrees. We met some friends there and had a blast. They have some really neat exhibits. Wish we could have stayed for Boo at the Zoo.

Finding Your Place

I realize death is apart of life. In 4 years I have lost two important men in my life. My brother and my dad. Both were difficult. I never dreamed at 35 I would lose my dad. Boy does it hurt. My mom and I are trying to find our place and make dad proud. She is doing well. She is working and going to Bible study on Monday nights.

Last night we went to Mather Lodge with some friends we don't see often. It was beautiful on Petit Jean. Rainy and foggy. My girls loved the lodge. The views were awesome. It was fun to visit with old friends.

See it isn't about stuff. It is about relationships! The food was great. The fellowship even better.

Amazing

It is amazing what you get when you look at your camera roll and realize little ones are good at taking pictures. Lol.

I don't know how it happened, but I have a first grader!  Mary-Kate is loving school so much!  It was an adjustment because it is a lot harder than Kindergarten.

 I miss my Dad every day.  I talked to him so much everyday, it was hard to know what to do with that time. And I miss talking to him.  He would have a lot to say about our Hogs right now.

I am getting to spend a lot of time with my Mom and I am loving that!
She is doing well under the circumstances.  How well can you be when you are missing your sweetheart?

 My girls have had a difficult time too.  God is good all of the time and we are making it through.

Mary-Kate is taking dance this year.  She has been doing this since age 3 and she loves it.  She is also playing soccer again this year.  She is on a new team with a new coach.  It is really fun to watch her play.  She loves to run and never gets tired.  This is her sport!  It takes up a lot of our time during the week.

We are doing Awana again this year.  We are doing this at my friend's church instead of my brother's church.  My friend asked if I would help with Sparks this year.  Since Mady is a Puggle, I decided to help in her room.  She loves having me in her room.  Mary-Kate does better with me not in her room.  LOL. I love helping in the Puggle's room.  Those little ones are so sweet and so eager to learn!  I am not in charge, just a helper.  Mady says, "I want to go to Awana House."  She can't wait to go each week!  Mary-Kate enjoys Awana in our town because she goes to school with all of these kids.

I am loving the cooler temperatures!  The rain doesn't bother me either.  We need it!
I will try to do a better job of blogging.  It is just hard to find the time.
