This happened when we were celebrating my mum's birthday at Westwood.

In Hokkien.

And we happened to meet one of my parents' old colleagues (in her 50s). Lets just call her Friend.

Dad: So how are you?
Friend: Doing great! My daughter just had her first baby.. (you know the usual stuff)
Mum: Wah. Become grandma already hor?
Friend: Yalor. But just one grandchild only lar. (Looks at me) Eh! Your son so big already ar?!
Mum: Yup yup.
Friend:(Looks at mum) Wah, so long didn't see you liao meh. (smiling) Gonna be grandma soon la u!

Mum and Dad looks at me with eyes wide open.

Dad: He's only 16 la.
Friend: O.o

Peng.
Do I actually look that old?

Break in.

I was coming home with plans to go to the toilet, read up on something and maybe play some games online.

And came back home with a shock.

pretty orderly eh?

It caught me by surprise. Was that my doing? Or was it that of someone else? I had this weird feeling tugging at me to go upstairs though.

Lo, and behold, the great outdoors upstairs.

Panic. The first thing i did was to run into my room. Had my guitars been taken? My emergency money? The adrenaline just pumped its way into my mind like a water pump bursting under high pressure. It felt like the runner's high. Still mining my internal adrenaline drip, i made my way across the house from room to room, eventually reaching mine. Was i relieved to see that nothing (much) had been taken. However...

A stench filled my bedroom room. It filled the air with a stench that was enough to throw you off your senses. And then it hit me like a projectile accelerating at 5ms-2.

My mum had figured out that the guy actually did something because I never keep my valuables in my room.

Which, I guess, simply left the poor man frustrated sad and wanting to release his anger, he did what all dogs would do anywhere they went.

He peed on my clothes. Along with the book full of all my physics notes and reports which has caused many sleepless nights in my form 4 life AND my SPM reference books.

The total damage done by the simple act of peeing costed me about RM 72.

Talk about an expensive toilet. And there's me to spend 5 hours cleaning it up some more. Some people can't appreciate stuff by at least saying thank you.

Or someone should at least advice that robber to drink more water so his pee would be more transparent.

But then again, who would want to thank someone for washing their whole month's worth of laundry by hand?

Oh well.

Wondering what else was lost, I walked into my 8 year-old sister's room.

They raided a kid's room

Speaks pretty much for itself, doesn't it?

My little sister has always been the type who would save whatever money she got. To date, she probably has spent only less than RM5 in her primary school life.

Meaning to say that she lost her saved money worth over a hundred ringgit.

Talk about stealing money from a schooling kid.

Last room to go: The master bedroom.

Upon arrival, I was just awed shocked at what a dog robber can do to a bedroom.

Entrance

Instantly I grabbed the phone and called my dad. After what seemed like an hour, my dad arrived home (with my uncle and aunt) and scoured for any lost objects. It turned out that we hadn't lost anything much - just a printer and some gold (which unfortunately was my first gold pendant and my mum's wedding ring). You could've seen me skulking around in a corner (or perhaps work my buttocks off), crestfallen had I lost the bass. Thank God it was still there!

I have indeed seen many blessings through this. Thank God that I wasn't at home when they tried to break into the house, otherwise I could have sustained internal injuries! Ouch! My dad said that the first thing that came into his mind when I told him that our house had to be broken into was that "earthly possessions never last. Instead, keep looking upwards".

Praise the Lord!

p/s: Forgive me for my sarcastic remarks about the dog robber

"It"

It went badly. Big time. For a second there I thought I was a goner. It was something that I had no control of. Being down with a seriously heavy flu for 2 weeks before the exam didn't help.

"It is finished"

Things to look forward to:
1. The completion of my 200+ pages physics reports
2. Camp Empowered 08

School holidays soon. NOOOO!!!!!

Lord, give me the strength to not fall asleep, go insane, tear my hair out or walk around aimlessly in this undertaking. Amen.

An Unspoken Bible

His name is Bill.

He has wild hair, wears a T-shirt with holes in it, jeans and no shoes. This was literally is wardrobe for his entire four years of college. He is brilliant. Kind of esoteric and very, very bright. He became a Christian recently while attending college.

Across the street from the campus is a well-dressed, very conservative church. One day Bill decides to go there. He walks in with no shoes, jeans, his T-shirt, and wild hair. The service has already started and So Bill starts down the aisle looking for a seat.

The church is completely packed and he can't find a seat. By now people are really looking a bit uncomfortable, but no one says anything. Bill gets closer and closer and closer to the pulpit and, when he realizes there are no seats, he just squats down right on the carpet. (Although perfectly acceptable behavior at a college fellowship, trust me, this had never happened in this church before!

By now the people are really uptight, and the tension in the air is thick. About this time, the minister realizes that from way at the back of the church, an Elder is slowly making his way toward Bill. Now the Elder is in his eighties, has silver-gray hair, and a three-piece suit. A godly man, very elegant, very dignified, very courtly. He walks with a cane and, as he starts walking toward this boy, everyone is saying To themselves that you can't blame him for what he's going to do.

How can you expect a man of his age and of his background to understand some college kid on the floor? It takes a long time for the man to reach the boy. The church is utterly silent except for the clicking of the man's cane.

All eyes are focused on him. You can't even hear anyone breathing. The minister can't even preach the sermon until the Elder does what he has to do. And now they see this elderly man drop his cane on the floor.

With great difficulty he lowers himself and sits down next to Bill and worships with him so he won't be alone.

Everyone chokes up with emotion.

When the minister gains control, he says, "What I'm about to preach, you will never remember. What you have just seen, you will never forget. Be careful how you live. You may be the only Bible some people will ever read."

..

I have to let this out.

I'm not being hypocritical whenever I go for youth gatherings.

I try to live a Holy life, just as how He taught us. I try my best to be nice, to not condemn people, to not do all kinds of things that would break God's heart. I love him.

After going for youth events or going for mass and listening to the priests' sermon, I feel it. A fire.

A fire which would eventually fade the next day. I'd be a goner after that.

I try my best to not lose sight on Him.

It's so hard, Lord.. Help me =(

"Spelling errors are intended"

Don't we all find it annoying when people talk like that?

No, I'm not criticizing who they are. Their attitudes are so.. Like that.

Quote Roland:

"Ah Lian" Infestation

I don't get it with this trend. Don't you find it irritating when people go:

"Hye... Add me orhx... Thanx yea... xoxo. Luv ya all ma fwenz!"

"Hahaz, lolx, I lurve my bao bei! Muackxz muackxz!!!"

"My credit finishes lohx, gonna mish u. Sobz."

It is not as if there English is that bad, but their behaviour... Aaargh! (Spelling and grammatical mistakes above are intended, for good.)

At our school gate, a girl from our school was late. You should have seen the way she got out of the car. First thing, her shirt was untucked, and not many girls actually do so. Next thing, her belly was showing because of her untucked shirt. Not to mention the way she walked up from the road towards the school gate.

Next thing, one of the prefects asked her to tuck in her shirt. Surprisingly, she went off away from the gate to follow our orders. At that time, the head prefect came and asked us what was going on. "She's tucking in her shirt," and our head prefect actually when over to peep whether it was true. =.=

Suddenly, she appeared and said:

I will tuck in my shirt later, I have exams now. Thank you!

And she walked off. =.= She probably does not know protocol. My senior came over and asked me whether I got her name in my late-comer's book. She was so quick through the gate we couldn't catch her! She didn't even have a name tag!

She walks like an 'ah lian', presents herself like an 'ah lian', but at least that girl doesn't speak like one. That's for sure. So much for being polite to a prefect and scurrying away without taking down her name.

So much for Josephians having good English.

Fly!

I've been waiting for my dreams
To turn into something
I could believe in
And looking for that
Magic rainbow
On the horizon
I couldn't see it
Until I let go
Gave into love and watched all the bitterness burn
Now I'm coming alive
Body and soul
And feelin' my world start to turn

And I'll taste every moment
And live it out loud
I know this is the time,
This is the time of me
To be more than a name
Or a face in the crowd
I know this is the time
This is the time of my life
Time of my life

Holding onto things and vanished
Them to the air
Left me in pieces
But now I'm rising from the ashes
Finding my wings
And all that I needed
Was there all along
Within my reach
As close as the beat of my heart

I could just soar right now =)

Saturday, August 9, 2008

That was great.

Praise the Lord! I've been relieved of my music post. Thank God there's someone to replace me ;p

The past few days have been blissful. Was able to study without sleeping too late. Taking up accounts right after the second term exams wasn't really hard after all, thanks to my dad (an ex-lecturer) who taught me in english. Don't know a lot of the terms in BM though. Heh heh heh.

We were supposed to write a letter to a friend from a land not-too-far-away, warning him about the dangers of exercising too hard and giving him advice on jogging for our exams. Not too happy with the marks though. Writing a four-page letter to a guy would sound kinda wrong. Go figure.

"And i can't stress any further the importance of wearing the proper attire for exercise activities. We don't see men running around in tuxedos around the neighbourhood, don't we? That would be just plain silly, although it would be very amusing to watch."

Yes, i did put that in my essay. No wonder i only got 90 marks =/

My thanks to everyone who helped me get through this, be it by action, giving me advice or just being there for me. =]

Oh and I love this vid.

Enjoy =D

Little Red Riding Hood - The Politically Correct version

Disclaimer: For entertainment purposes only

There once was a young person named Little Red Riding Hood who lived on the edge of a large forest full of endangered owls and rare plants that would probably provide a cure for cancer if only someone took the time to study them.

Red Riding Hood lived with a nurture giver whom she sometimes referred to as "mother", although she didn't mean to imply by this term that she would have thought less of the person if a close biological link did not in fact exist. Nor did she intend to denigrate the equal value of nontraditional households, although she was sorry if this was the impression conveyed.

One day her mother asked her to take a basket of organically grown fruit and mineral water to her grandmother's house.

"But mother, won't this be stealing work from the unionized people who have struggled for years to earn the right to carry all packages between various people in the woods?" Red Riding Hood's mother assured her that she had called the union boss and gotten a special compassionate mission exemption form.

"But mother, aren't you oppressing me by ordering me to do this?"

Red Riding Hood's mother pointed out that it was impossible for women to oppress each other, since all women were equally oppressed until all women were free.

"But mother, then shouldn't you have my brother carry the basket, since he's an oppressor, and should learn what it's like to be oppressed?"

Red Riding Hood's mother explained that her brother was attending a special rally for animal rights, and besides, this wasn't stereotypical women's work, but an empowering deed that would help engender a feeling of community.

"But won't I be oppressing Grandma, by implying that she's sick and hence unable to independently further her own selfhood?" But Red Riding Hood's mother explained that her grandmother wasn't actually sick or incapacitated or mentally handicapped in any way, although that was not to imply that any of these conditions were inferior to what some people called "health".

Thus Red Riding Hood felt that she could get behind the idea of delivering the basket to her grandmother, and so she set off. Many people believed that the forest was a foreboding and dangerous place, but Red Riding Hood knew that this was an irrational fear based on cultural paradigms instilled by a patriarchal society that regarded the natural world as an exploitable resource, and hence believed that natural predators were in fact intolerable competitors. Other people avoided the woods for fear of thieves and deviants, but Red Riding Hood felt that in a truly classless society all marginalized peoples would be able to "come out" of the woods and be accepted as valid lifestyle role models.

On her way to Grandma's house, Red Riding Hood passed a woodchopper, and wandered off the path, in order to examine some flowers.

She was startled to find herself standing before a Wolf, who asked her what was in her basket.

Red Riding Hood's teacher had warned her never to talk to strangers, but she was confident in taking control of her own self, and chose to dialogue with the Wolf.

She replied, "I am taking my Grandmother some healthful snacks in a gesture of solidarity."

The Wolf said, "You know, my dear, it isn't safe for a little girl to walk through these woods alone."

Red Riding Hood said, "I find your sexist remark offensive in the extreme, but I will ignore it because of your traditional status as an outcast from society, the stress of which has caused you to develop an alternative and yet entirely valid worldview. Now, if you'll excuse me, I would prefer to be on my way."

Red Riding Hood returned to the main path, and proceeded towards her Grandmother's house.

But because his status outside society had freed him from slavish adherence to linear, Western-style thought, the Wolf knew of a quicker route to Grandma's house.

He burst into the house and ate Grandma, a course of action affirmative of his nature as a predator. Then, unhampered by rigid, traditionalist gender role notions, he put on Grandma's nightclothes, crawled under the bedclothes, and awaited developments.

Red Riding Hood entered the cottage and said, "Grandma, I have brought you some cruelty free snacks to salute you in your role of wise and nurturing matriarch."

The Wolf said softly "Come closer, child, so that I might see you."

Red Riding Hood said, "Goodness! Grandma, what big eyes you have!"

"You forget that I am optically challenged."

"And Grandma, what an enormous, what a fine nose you have."

"Naturally, I could have had it fixed to help my acting career, but I didn't give in to such societal pressures, my child."

"And Grandma, what very big, sharp teeth you have!"

The Wolf could not take any more of these specist slurs, and, in a reaction appropriate for his accustomed milieu, he leaped out of bed, grabbed Little Red Riding Hood, and opened his jaws so wide that she could see her poor Grandmother cowering in his belly.

"Aren't you forgetting something?" Red Riding Hood bravely shouted.

"You must request my permission before proceeding to a new level of intimacy!"

The Wolf was so startled by this statement that he loosened his grasp on her.

At the same time, the woodchopper burst into the cottage, brandishing an axe.

"Hands off!" cried the woodchopper.

"And what do you think you're doing?" cried Little Red Riding Hood.

"If I let you help me now, I would be expressing a lack of confidence in my own abilities, which would lead to poor self esteem and lower achievement scores on college entrance exams."

"Last chance, sister! Get your hands off that endangered species!

This is an FBI sting!" screamed the woodchopper, and when Little Red Riding Hood nonetheless made a sudden motion, he sliced off her head.

"Thank goodness you got here in time," said the Wolf. "The brat and her grandmother lured me in here. I thought I was a goner."

"No, I think I'm the real victim, here," said the woodchopper.
"I've been dealing with my anger ever since I saw her picking those protected flowers earlier. And now I'm going to have such a trauma. Do you have any aspirin?"

"Sure," said the Wolf.

"Thanks."

"I feel your pain," said the Wolf, and he patted the woodchopper on his firm, well padded back, gave a little belch, and said "Do you have any Maalox?"

A Poem

What strikes me about heaven is out of this world,
Not of the beautiful decor
Or flashing lights,
Nor of the beautiful scenes
Of sunsets before nights.
It's not the amazing choir of angels i see
Nor the beautiful rivers that had amazed me.
Up in heaven, what I saw
Was the shocking presence of people that i did know.
There were the two bulllies that stole my lunch, so to say
And the next door neighbour who never had anything nice to say
There was my enemy, who just saw things his way
And of course my adversary who did bad, as he may.
But I saw a trait in them all,
So quiet, so cold
The joy of being in heaven isn't enough for you all?
So I asked Jesus, who was standing beside me the whole time,
"Why are they so sombre and cold?"
"So quiet and just gazing through it all?"
And He replied,
"Hush my child,"

Questions.

This happened last night.
Estimated time: 2 or 3 something in the morning.

I was sound asleep at that time, and was suddenly woken up. Something didn't feel right. Lying on my bed, i look around and tried to move. And I just couldn't. It was as if I was held down by some supernatural force or something. Looking around, I didn't see anything at first and just thought what was happening is just a fragment of my imagination.

I fell asleep, only to find myself waking up in the same condition.

The process repeated for about 3 times, still frozen.

The fourth time, still held down:
Looking around, i saw what looked like an apparition. It was a face. It took its shape as the
face of our risen Lord. I was scared. Something still didnt feel right. Was it really Him? Or was that one of Satan's many attempts to trick me again?

Dreams.

Experiencing sleepless nights, ruminating on the weird events that have happened in the past few days. Weird dreams have materialised and they seem to link with the current issues of life. Perhaps it's not the spiritual war that some have been going through but something bad is happening. And it's not to me.

"In the last days it will be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and daughters shall prophecy, and your young men shall see visions, and your elders shall dream dreams" - Acts 2:7

Call me crazy as you may but still i hold fast to my belief.

Enter Robotics.

3 of us. Struck down. It had been a heavy blow for us, when our hard work had been in vain. And the one, particularly sad reason why we lost:

Sabotage.

No, robotics wasn't what it used to be anymore. It no longer used to be a time where fairness was brought to order. Two weeks of brainstorming and 3 days of practical only left us going:

(a conversation between us and the organiser)

Us : Excuse me, mr. (insert name here), two of our school's teams have just been sabotaged.
Organiser: Oh okay. How?
Me : (Does a thorough explanation of the situation while he stares blankly at me) Do you think you could do anything about it, perhaps?
Organiser: Okay. We'll try.

Having nothing more to say, we just thanked him and left. And what did the organisers do during the 2nd round? Nothing. Literally. No extra trial round for us, no making sure that the participants do not cut the queues, no organisers standing near the tables to make sure someone does not reformat other people's robots by "accident".

I'm quite sick of this, actually. And i don't think i'm going to find myself involved in robotics anytime soon. Talk about ignorance.

Proverbs 12:19

Did you even remember

How we used to hold hands last year,
and stared into each others eyes
the world meant nothing to us, and
all i could see was just you and me.
my trust grew so strong for you
but you turned out to be different along the way.
as circumstances came to pass,
i felt betrayed as i lost myself
being thrown into a world of demise,
i turned, i squirmed, i yelled and screamed
to find myself losing my very life, to say the least.
You lied.
we broke up, but no it didnt end there,
my trust for you was still right there.
nine months has passed, and all i can say is,
I don't know you anymore.

Lord, preserve me.

Pedal.

I used to think of God as my observer, my judge, keeping track of the things I did wrong, so as to know whether I merited heaven or hell when I die. He really was out there, but in my eyes, like the president of the world. I recognised His picture when I saw it, but I didn't really know Him.

But later on when I met Christ, it seemed as though life were rather like a bike, but it was a tandem bike - which could be ridden by two at once, and I noticed that Christ was in the back helping me pedal. I don't know just when it was He suggested we switched places, but life has not been the same since. I left my life into His hands, and He was at the controls. I took the back seat to Jesus, My Lord. Christ makes life exciting. Exhilirating, to say the least. When I was in control, I thought I knew the way, but it was boring. Predictable. It was the shortest distance between two points.

But when He took the lead, He knew the delightful long cuts, up mountains, and through rocky places and at breakneck, headswinging speeds; and all i could do was to hang on! Even though the journey gave you an entirely new perspective of the word madness, He said "Pedal!". I was worried and anxious and asked, "Where are you taking me?" He laughed and didn't answer, and I started to learn to trust. I forgot my boring, mundane life and entered the adventure. And whenever I'd say, "I'm scared!", He'd lean back and touch my hand.

He took me to people with gifts that I needed, gifts of healing, acceptance and joy. They gave me their gifts to take away on my journey; our journey. My Lord's and mine. And there we were, riding off into the realm of adventure - again. He said, "Give the gifts away; they're extra baggage. Too much weight," and so i did, to the people we met along the way, and I found that in giving I received, and still our burden is light.

I didn't trust Him in control of my life in the begining. All I saw was me riding alone, being in control of my own bike. Of my life. I thought He'd wreck it, but He knows bike secrets, knows how to make it bend to take sharp corners, jump to clear high rocks, fly to shorten scary passages. And here I am, learning to shut up and pedal in the strangest places, and I'm beginning to enjoy the view and the cool breeze on my face with my delightful and constant companion, Jesus Christ. And when I'm sure I just can't do it anymore, He just smiles and says... "Pedal."

blog?

So far, i've already received some of my exam results. Neither too bad nor too good. Sometimes it just feels as if my soul is wandering through a barren land, searching for Him. Life just gets a little too busy sometimes for me to complete my duties . Suddenly i feel like a jack-of-all trades, going to the most unreasonable ends just to fulfill profane requirements of life (hence my "moodyness").

So and henceforth, i shall refrain from using the internet only so often. I've decided that i would have to strive and push myself to the extreme in academic terms, provided i dont get sick of course =P

I'd most probably be going online only once every month, and to check my email around once every one or two days. But this blog WILL continue to be alive, i promise =)

"I'm glad for having Him brought me to reality" =)

till later in life, so long! xD

Exams so far

Exams. Probably one of the worst fears of students, especially because of the stress given by both teachers and students. BM and Bio was yesterday. The fact that i really am poor in these two subjects just caused fear. I remember having stepped into school during the first day of secondary school, and all i can remember was...

-----------------3 years ago-----------------

walking into the foreign environment, wondering how i got into secondary school. lol. it was assembly, and we were supposed to sit down on the cold, concrete floors. So yeah. On the 1st day of my secondary school life:

*sits down*

*splits*

ooops. heheh xD

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That was three years back. The thought of me being a form one student kinda makes me smile as i think back of how fun it used to be back then. We would spend days on end without caring how we would have to work hard to get good results. Exams were so easy back then. Even though I can understand the syllabus, it horrifies me to know that i have to MEMORISE stuff. But hey, since others can do it, i guess i can do it too =D. As brother Albinus says, "it's no use having self pity on yourself." And it's true. There's no point of just staying back and relaxing. I guess i've got to drive myself hard if i want to succeed in the future. ANYWAYS...

This was what happened during BM paper.

*starts writing*

After the bell rang, my BM teacher, Cik Saleha (she calls herself lao-hu) walked into the class.
Uh-oh. Help meee xD. She is so gonna kill us by being strict. I asked for extra paper and she went to the next class to get the extra papers. She came back and gave me the paper then went about walking around the class, supposedly jaga-ing us. She's kinda strict you know xD

BUT Instead,

Saleha(grining) : Eh, rumusan kamu harus ada 2 isi tersirat dan 6 isi tersurat.

Me(thinking to myself) : Er... o..kay...........

at the same time;

Class : Oh @!#$.

Saleha : Dan pastikan Bahagian A kamu ada 5 isi penting.

Me(thinking) : Wad sorta teacher is this? give tips and format during exam one.

And as if roland read my mind, he said;

Roland : Open mouth exam ka?

=.='""

Suddenly,

Adrian's voice coming from a corner : Moi!

*teacher walks away*

Adrian : Oh Moi!!

*walks away*
*class starts laughing*

Adrian : MOI!!!!

Su : Shut up la.

*teacher walks by*

Saleha : OI!! kamu cakap lagi saya bagi kamu 0 markah!!

O___o""""

Kesian xD

And to add to it, when i walked out of the class, jackson from 4B came to me saying, "I DON LIKE UR BM TEACHER!!"

Me: eh?

Jackson: she said she gonna take the paper and we don nid it coz she say A class smarter.

Ooops paiseh >.<

Nuffnang
