Hi all, decided to drop a note here... since I'm waiting for a particular someone to go to bed. Been a while since I've logged on to blog, but nonetheless, I'm back! *coughs* & *sniffles* Down with flu, sore throat and what not.. bleaHz! This is only my first semester in NUS and I can feel the pressure building up, wonder what is it going to be like in my 2nd/ 3rd year. *future looks bleak* But! Just a gentle reminder to all those who are weary and tired to look to the Lord our God for supplication, rest, and strength to go on. =)

Anyway, our dear sister-in-Christ is on her way to London. Will be praying for her to be able to adjust well to the new environment and by God's grace will doors be open to her for the sharing of God's word to unsaved ones around her!

Oh yes, and I've got a cactus lately and more importantly, I don't exactly have green fingers, so really putting in quite a bit of effort to maintain it! Haha, I have been talking to it every now and then! Probably that's the mean reason why the cactus have troubles surviving! haha... x_x"

hm! ding dong! time to sleep. zZz.. till next time! Bye bye! =)

Ok, think I've been out of this blog for a really long time. I thought by this time when I revisit this blog, it will automatically adopt a "Spiderman" theme considering how long I have left it for Mr. Spidey to spin intrinsic designs on my blog. But it still appears as I have left it, hopefully this is not a reflection on my spiritual life, still stagnant from April till now! =_='" Anyway, I'm like studying for my mid-term tests and struggling with my projects. So if anyone happens to chance on my blog, pray for me... thank you! Came across this really nice guitaring piece by Andy Mckee, enjoy!

I really don't understand myself. Is it so hard to pop by this website and put down a few words? Certainly not! I am always online!! Anyway, I think I lack consistency in my life. Well, I could find myself finding many excuses in my mind now already. *think aloud* "No one is looking at what I'm blogging anyway!" Hms, that comes to a point of accountability! This could be one reason why people started blogging! They wanted others to know what is happening in their lives! They stay committed to blog, because they know there's someone out there who is actually reading, and has unknowingly become part of their lives! Well, anway, I won't be letting my blog known to anyone anytime soon but I realise I really need accountability buddies! There has not been one person I can share my darkest secrets with! Except with God of course!

Oh, my mum wants to play this majong game I've installed on my laptop. Gotta continue with my blogging later! Anyways, a brief outlook on today's event! My dad went to Singapore General Hospital for a medical checkup. Apparently, some sabaceous gland ended up on his back near the spinal area, need to have a day surgery to remove it. Looks pretty scary I must say!

Erps, I'm back! Didn't manage to publish the blog before my mother came to play majong! Haha, learnt a trick or 2 from her. Anyway, I've been watching alot of shows lately. Music and lyrics, My Super Ex-Girlfriend and so on. I was really fascinated by this song, doesn't display a huge range of vocal range by the 2 singers (Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore), but beautifully sung! The song is... *drum rolls*... Way Back Into Love! Melodious song with the most heartwarming lyrics. Have been playing in on the guitar and recording it into the laptop, find the opposite of melodious and heartwarming and that's what I've got on my laptop now. Haha, well then again, nice try! *pat on own back*

Today I also helped out Singapore Youth for Christ in ministering to these secondary school kids from Geylang Methodist Secondary School. It was a nice experience, have not been around school students for quite some time, so was reliving my secondary school days while ministering to them. I realised it would go on for the next few weeks till just before my school starts! One more thing just struck my mind, have to go for this medical checkup at NUH on the 20th April '07 as well as go to the registration centre to collect some documents on the 3rd May '07. Got to record all these things down, don't really have a good memory!

I went to the Campus Crusade's moving out sale too @ Boon Keng. Initially, looked at the map for directions to the building but was uncertain if the building before my eyes was indeed Hiap Huat house or something like that. The building was under a total revamp, cranes, construction workers, do not enter signs etc etc. I ended up having to ask this kind soul who just left the building to affirm if the sale was really situated in the rundown building, it was. On the 4th Floor on the right after I've stepped out of the lift, there was this shop filled with people and I walked right into it. The sale was amazing, I compared the price with other stores the following day and realised I made a good purchase. However, though the price was right, I need make a mistake. FATALITY! My pastor and fellow church mates have these books already, but it was too late. Anyway, my fellow church friend told me not to despair, afterall, I could highlight the book and make notes on them to my hearts' content, point taken! The 2 books are Boy Meets Girl as well as Mentorship (How to Invest Your Life in Others). 2 great books and I've already started on the first book, will start on the latter pretty soon considering the amount of time I have on hand without a part time job. Quoting from a person named Matthew Henry in his commentary on Genesis, I would like to share this beautiful description to end this post.

"Eve was not taken out of Adam's head to top him, neither out of his feet to be trampled by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be proteted by him, and near his heart to be loved by him."

Good day peeps!

Event:

Hasn't been bright and sunny these few days! The looming clouds seem to have overtaken the skys and hidden the sunshine. I was planning to go for a run this morning, BUT (excuse), *ahemz*, I woke up late, as usual. After washing up, I accompanied my mother to GIANT (Tampines) to purchase items for this coming Sunday's housewarming. My relatives have all been invited and I'm allowed to bring along some friends too! I invited my first 3 months classmates, Jinglun, Xiangyun, Jocelyn n Marilyn. However, haven't got a reply from Jinglun yet, he must be busy honing his entrepreneurship skills again. I've just returned from GIANT and bought this small fan for my room. I've got a double-decker bed you see and I can't seem to direct my standing fan to the second deck. Therefore, thanks to my mother's bright idea (shoutout: *thanks Mum!*), I got this really small oscillating fan and attached it to my bed's second deck. My sister's boyfriend stays in my room at times so there is no need to worry about who gets the fan now! My uncle will be bringing my mother and I to witness my auntie's baptism at Katong later in the evening. Before that, I think i'll fly over to Compasspoint to get a haircut. After witnessing the baptism, I'll then rush down to Glen's home at Simsville to catch a movie screening! Although the sky has been downcast, it will not stop me from uplifting up spirit with a day filled with fellowship with family and friends! AMEN!

Article/ Book:

I have been spending the last few hours chatting with friends online, reading the newspapers, reading this book I have started on a few weeks ago (Jeffrey Archer's Sons of Fortune) with Class 95 playing in the background, boy am I enjoying my break before the school term starts on 7th May '07. *...all the love in the world* (The Corrs) playing in the background. Anyway, came across this newspaper article on yesterday's paper on a 10-hour hostage stand-off. Apparently it resembled what I just read in my book, purely coincidental. Children held hostage by a day-care centre ownder are carried away from a bus in Manila after they were released unharmed following a 10-hr stand-off stand out in bold on the newspaper front page of Straits Times. Apparently this man had issues he wanted to voice out and had gone a little extreme on the medium he wanted to use to get his point accross to the public and government. Thank God the children were too young to know what situation they were in and the whole event was under controlled with the Senator being involved as well, made a successful attempt at releasing a child who was suffering from fever. Thank God all the children were released unharmed in the end. The story in the book seem to tell this real life incident in complete resemblence. Children were held hostage in their art class by a lonely but intelligent man who's full of ideas, seeking attention and wanting to prove a point and tipped his mental balance using such a extreme approach when he lost his job, his wife left him and took his children. One of the main characters in the book who happens to be a senator was also present at the scene to mitigate the situation. Really makes me ponder if the grenade-wielding hostage taker identified as Amando "Jun" Duncat had read too much Jeffrey Archer, causing it to flick on the creative switch in his grey matter to attempt such a "feat" to draw media attention to get his message accross. Anyways, on with my reading... on the book... hope it doesn't just flick on some creative switches in my grey matter too, even if it does, does not instigate me to start taking hostages.

Thoughts:
Ever since I had come out from conscription, discipline seemed to have came out from me as well. I really need to get a grip of my life and be in control instead of being gripped by life in the neck. Then again, should I? Or should I let God? We can't be in control of our lives because God is. Without God being the focus in our everyday lives, everything we try to keep in control gets out of control. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. With the Holy Spirit dwelling in us, it reminds us that our bodies are temples of God, built in His image. The gifts that we possess, are we using them to glorify Him, or are we just wasting ourselves away, not in the least interested in being good stewards of what we have?!

Keeping Aligned

This is really a blog created to help me keep aligned to God's Word and by God's grace keep me growing spiritually from strength to strength. I will be using this blog as a tool to record day to day thoughts, events, articles, conversations or any other incidents which intrigues me therefore allowing me to reflect about them at the end of the day. With these in mind, I shall officially publish this first post...
