Summer Time

HELLO SUMMER TIME!!!

Summer brings heat in AZ! Everyone knows that, so at Christmas the Prestwichs held a meeting, and we decided to take a trip to see some places in California!

Our first destination was Pasadena, CA. We rented a 3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom house in a residential area. Best decision so far, besides coming! It was very quaint, quiet neighborhood, and was a perfect fit! We met Mark's sister and family at the house.
Beautiful place! We stayed here for a couple days while we went to the beach and Six Flags (Magic Mountain).
We are amusing ourselves while waiting in line.
Woot Woot!!

Super cool!!
I love this guy! :)

These are just some of the fun that we had, and our short naps during lunch. We came right when it opened, and left about an hour before it closed. We were super tired, but had a TON of fun! My favorite ride is Scream. It didn't throw you around too much, but went fast enough with the loops that it was enjoyable. X2 was very thrilling, but don't recommend it to people with queasy stomachs. I also enjoyed that thrill, and intensity.

After our time in L.A. area, we took the coast up Highway 1, which is said to be the most beautiful highway in the country.

"An exhilarating driving experience, this twisting, cliff-hugging, 123-mile (198-kilometer) route along the central California coast takes about five hours to complete at a leisurely pace. Designated an All-American Road—among the nation's most scenic—the drive encompasses both the Big Sur Coast Highway and the San Luis Obispo North Coast Byway."
- National Geographic

We took Mark and his brother's motorcycle to really enjoy the ride!
After the first part of the ride. This is the view the entire time!!

He didn't get to ride the motorcycles, but still felt cool with the helmet. haha This is Mark's nephew Ossi.

There are sea lions on the beach...top corner of the picture!

The blue sky that is lined by white clouds made an excellent perspective in this picture.

Next Stop San Francisco!!

We had lots of fun here as well! We went to the Muir Woods (part of Red Wood Forest), Golden Gate Bridge, Bubba Gumps Restaurant, and Stanford University Campus. Stanford is where Mark spent some of his time as a missionary. He walked all over the campus, and worked with the Stanford Ward. Each was an adventure all on its own!

Here's the whole gang again!

We're trying to describe how big the trees are...there are no words...BIG!

Golden Gate Bridge was a little foggy.
This is by the Bubba Gump Restaurant. Pier 39. I wish we could have stayed here longer.

Final Destination is Lake Tahoe!
This lake is BEAUTIFUL! If you haven't been here before, I truly recommend going. The waters are more blue than the sky. The mountains surrounding the waters are snow capped. Making a perfect scene to go tubing. We didn't bring our phones so I don't have any pictures on the lake. However the camping was just as good! Here is the final pictures of the trip!
The water is a little dirty here because of the boats, but on the Lake it's as clear as can be!

After making it home safely, and taking a day to rest. I think this is definitely a trip to remember. We have many good memories that I for sure will never forget! I'm so grateful for the support of Sue and June for helping me make the plans, figure some of the details so we could have a great time!

UNTIL NEXT TIME!

October Doings

Things we have been up to!

Hey everyone,

Last couple of Saturdays we had a huge Relief Society activity. It was the first that I have gone to. Sine I've been in nursery or in young woman's, I found it harder to remember exactly when the activities were since I wasn't in RS. Anyways, it was a super Saturday activity. So there are quite a lot of things that we could learn or make. I helped my YW president make a really pretty wreath for her door. We made it from a foam ring. Then we took hot glue and glued the coffee filters to the ring. The end product was really pretty. We agreed I get it half the year and she gets it the rest of the year.  Haha JK....
Another project was to take a pretty glass plate and use 4000 glue to stick a pretty cup on the bottom. The end result is a beautiful cake plate, for desserts, candies, cookies, etc.

Also, not everyone knows, I love baking! Cinnamon rolls, cookies, brownies, all of it is so much fun. Anyways, so Mark and I decided to make some brownies in a BIG bowl. They are the really good kind, Ghirardeli. Mark ended up eating every last drop and had some fun in the process(brownie mix all over his face). We love spending time together.

This last picture is of my floor level at work. They have been tearing out carpets, and sanding down the concrete. I guess they're getting ready to put in tile or some thing. But in the mean time, we are breathing filthy air and everyone is getting colds, and having respiratory allergies. I hope they are done soon. It seems like this is taking forever.

Apparently the pictures aren't loading....sorry. I gave up trying to load them. We also have a new member of the family. Kharma! She's a black and white kitty, 6mo when we got her. She's social and has already brought a friend home. We named her friend Blackie (Sirius black). Both are super funny to watch, but Mark wants me to find a new home for Blackie. :( so let me know if you would like a sweet, black, fluffy kitty. Shy is really shy, and would take time for her to get to know you, but we taught her to use a kitty door, get pet, and even let us hold her for a bit. Anyways, let me know if you need a new kitty! :)

Hope you all enjoyed some snap shots of what we have been up to.

Last 6 Months

Finally some new info on what Mark and I have been up to the last 6months. First, I just want to say, that I wish these blogs were more user friendly. Takes soo long for pictures! Anyways... This year started off right with me getting a new job at Konica Minolta. I work in the call center taking incoming calls. So I'm not a sales person or anything. This is one of those easy jobs that pays well, has benefits, and has fun people to work with. I felt so blessed and just wished that Mark could land some cool medical job that would give him experience. Well now I have been at this job for over 6months and absolutely love it still. I started with supply calls and now have service as well. I also am their party planner and do everyone's birthdays. So I definitely keep myself busy.

Mark didn't have the good luck that I have. So we tried for a while to do about 2applications a day for Mark so he could have a better job than tutoring in the afternoons. A miracle happened! One of his friends suggested him to their company to be their property inspector. As he has helped build a few houses, he's very knowledgable in this area. So he went in for an interview for OnQ Property Management company. He got the Jon as their full time property inspector! Yay!! It wasn't the medical job we were dreaming of, but it was one that he could do full time and pay bills and save for med school in the meantime. His only complaint is having to drive from maricopa, north phx, to Goodyear all in the same day.

So what are we doing now? That's an excellent question. We are saving up for school, while enjoying being married and having the freedom of picking up and leaving to do whatever we want any time. We actually bought a summer pass for sun splash. It's So Much Fun! We love going after work to sit in the wave pool, or lazy river. I'd say its a very good investment. Some nights we just stay home and watch a tv show together, eat ice cream and talk outside in our hammock,or window 'shop' without buying anything.

Last month was amazing as we had the Prestwich Reunion one week, Tryon Reunion the following week, and then I was able to rest the third while all our girls went to Girls Camp. Both reunions we had a nice rain. So the area was beautiful and green. It's so interesting to see how each family is different and which ones have a few traditions, and others are so fun too.

It was our turn to have the reunion for Marks side, so I had Sue bring a book of songs. Haha we sang all kinds of funny songs together and had desert. We camped on the other side of Lake Roosevelt about 20mi from Young. The Tryon was different as not many of cousins my age could be there, or anyone from my immediate family. So we brought Marks brother Paul, and hung out with Cassie on the hike. For some reason, I remember the reunions being so much longer? 2days didn't seem long enough.

Now we are getting ready for fall and winter. Hopefully by then we will receive some kind of news of which medical schools are interested in Mark. Then we will know if we will be staying here or moving to go to school. Either way I hope it's soon as not knowing where we'll be is hard to make plans for our future! But as always, we'll keep, you posted! …eventually.

Updates!!

Ok this first picture is my halloween costume. :) Any guesses as to who I am?? Well if you haven't seen the Matrix, you probably won't guess it. But I am Trinity from the Matrix. I tried to get Mark to do the boy part, but didn't want to do it. He had his own ideas of being a 'mad scientist'. So I sewed a wig and everything, but forgot to take pictures...he doesn't like pictures anyways, so he got out of it this time.
Yes, you can barely see them, but these are bruises on my knees. This year we went to Irvings box maze, and it was A-maz-ing like normal. We took Paul with us as well so he could experience the maze too. Then we came home and watched the Nightmare before Christmas. I thought it was a good transition from Halloween into the holidays for Christmas. haha
TIME OUT FOR WOMAN! I absolutely loved this! There were so many great speakers, and very talented musicians. I hope I don't miss another year of this. I went with the Penrod girls, and had a blast! The only complaint, is the chairs were super hard...I was so sore afterwards. haha But it was fun hanging out and having a 'girls weekend'. It was a much needed break from school, work, and just right time to put a little 'pause' on life.
These pictures are of this weekend in Snowflake! We had a fun trip getting wood for their stove, and got 2 truck loads, and 2 trailers full! The first trip on saturday it was snowing like crazy, and kinda cold. But I was determined to get out and play in the snow! I made my own snow angel and everything.
It was a great weekend to get out of the valley, and relax, and listen to our 'state' conference. Thank you so much! Very happy weekend!

Long, Long, Ago

So many things have happened since the last post. We're going on 1year and 4 months since I last posted. A couple things since then...school is almost officially over(Dec 2012)! Mark graduated from ASU with his BS in Health Science in May 2012! Here are a few events since then!
I'm not sure if everyone knows, but I have always been fascinated by small cute animals, especially cats. We have "adopted" this new funny cat into our world. Her name is Small Fry, because she was the smallest in the litter of three kittens. She has won over not only my heart but has gained Mark's as well... Shh! Don't tell him that I said this. haha
I got a pict of them snuggled together on the couch...I think they are napping buddies. :D
Also, since we live only 5 min, walking, from the Temple, we definitely have taken a few night walks while the lights were going up. I love love love to see the Temple Christmas lights! I think they are beautiful!
For our 1st Year Anniversary, Mark and I decided to go see Wicked. He says it's the only musical that he likes. We went and he was singing all the songs, every single one! I didn't know he liked this musical so much, but I definitely say it is a Must See!
This is when we went to the Renaissance Festival! First time I have been, and they had some really cool artistic items there! This huge bear being one, that I ofcourse had to have my picture taken with. I also got a CD from a guy that plays the Bronze Bells...I want to say it's called the Bronze Cast or something like that. Only those in Europe are taught to play, if and only if they have the talent. I was fascinated that he could move all those HUGE bells! We also decided to get away from everything one weekend, just the two of us and go camping. No one else could make it, and well, it was kinda nice just Mark and I in Sedona. I love that place, and am amazed at the huge designs on the rocks. One evening we climbed and took picts as the sun was setting. These looked the coolest.
And of course Mark is now a Graduated little Devil! haha Yes, take it any way you like. haha jk This is one of my favorite pictures of him.
The rest of these pictures are just some fun ones. I hope this is a good catch up, and I hope to be better from here on out! :) Wish me luck! haha
Our canyoneering trip! This is the last picture of the day! We were tired, but had a great time! Thanks to Carissa and Joel for taking us and letting us borrow your wet suits!
This is a river trip with the Daniels! Carissa, Joel, and Adam their brother, and kids.
This was a great trip up to the cabin with Monson and Jessica Tryon! Thank you so much for the break!
Love him so much!!
