We went to the Payette County Fair. Ky and Kelsey have friends who have animals they show. KyLeigh drove us there!! She is pretty good, when I am not telling her what to do. Dad needs to drive with her. Maybe he will be easier for her to drive with. The fair is kind of fun. Tonight is the parade. For the past 4 years, there has been a storm that comes up around Rodeo start time. Last year, the parade was barely over with when the winds began their surge. About 3 fairs back, the storm was so big that it knocked out power and lightning started fires. We were without power for 21 hours!! It was hot and there was not water, so I couldn't shower and go to work at WalMart. Too bad. This year, it rained all night last night, it rained again today during pig showing and the wind right now is about 10-15 miles per hour. We have a couple more hours until showtime!!!!

Then the driver's permit will be in her possession and she will be driving with us for 6 months and then, January.....she is a REAL, LEGAL DRIVER!!!!! Am I really old enough? She will be 15 on the 2nd of August. On the 25th of September, Kelsey will be 13. They are growing up so fast!!!!

Today is Friday, June 26. It was the funeral for Mr. Moyle Brown. It was a very beautiful service. The songs we sang were songs that he enjoyed conducting. We were able to hear a taped version of when he sang at his uncle's, Hugh B Brown, funeral about 30 years ago. It was sung in the LDS Tabernacle on Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah. He sounded so much younger. His son, Bill began by giving the life sketch. Along with that life sketch, he included many memories and stories. It was great because I knew some of those stories, I was there! Another of Mr. Browns sons, Theron, wrote a song about and for his dad. It is called, Here's to the Man. It talked about his life...from being born the 3rd of 3 sons, to teaching music, directing plays and marching bands. Mr. Brown was/is a great man. I grew up hearing about him from my mother, who had him as a teacher and friend of the family. I am so blessed that I was able to have him as my teacher and father of my best friend. My girls also were influenced by him. I will never forget Mr. Brown.

Whats going on.
It's been a while since I've posted something new and the reason is because we've been really busy with sports lately. Kelsey played her last year of recreation soccer. She is now to old to do that but she is really interested in volleyball and will probably play next year. KyLeigh played softball for the high school JV team and did really well. She is now playing in a competitive summer league.
This is a picture of Kelsey and some of her teamates!

I decided that it was time to update our family blog since Vicki Matthews/Burwell asked for the address and might be looking at this. This really is Debra, by the way. It is the 4rth day of March and it is almost spring break. Life has been just life since Christmas and there really hasn't been much going on until now. Yesterday was Kevin's 12th anniversary at DirecTV!!!!!! Out of the 15 people that started with him in 1997, there are 6 of them still there. Kelsey is on the Academic Bowl team for the middle school. They have one meet left and it is in Parma on the 16th of this month. He team is made up of 6th graders who are new to this, but have done extremely well. They came in 3rd last Monday. The other NP Team was 1st and Nampa Christian, who is always first of second came in below them!!! KyLeigh is playing softball for the JV Team at the High School. This week has been really tough. There has been lots of rain. I am still at the Elementary School and I love it!! I know that my family appreicates me, but it is nice to have others feel that way about me also. ( and not because they have to).

Our Last Summer Family Activity
At the end of the schoolyear, all students get a free bowling pass that entitles them to get one free game of bowling a day for the whole summer. We used it a lot this past summer. On the last Monday before school started we all went bowling together. Here are some of the pics that ky took.
Kevin and his own bowling ball. (that says Jim on it)
KyLeigh with my bowling ball.(it has my name on it)
Kelsey with her cute hot pink ball that she gets from the bowling alley.
Our final score, Kevin-99, Debra-110, KyLeigh-72, and finally Kelsey 74. We may not be the best bowlers but we had a great time!
