The bump's progression

So I am surprised how fast I've gotten so big! One second I was barely showing and the next I look like a huge preggo lady... wierd! I think it has to do with all the turkey I ate over Thanksgiving! It's exciting, but really just a little depressing when I look at the pictures. Only three months to go!

He's a He-Man-Boy-Baby!

Yup, we saw "it." "It" is definately there and he's not afraid to show "it" off! We couldn't be happier! We just love him already. And no, we don't know his name.

Baby's on the Move!

I totally felt the baby kick me like five times this morning! I think I've felt it a couple of times before, but its hard to tell. But baby was definately flopping around today! Hooray! What a cool thing! I tried to show Khyl but the baby was too shy to dance for daddy so that didn't work out so well.

Take me out to the Ball Game!

Alan and Abby invited Khyl and I to the Reno Aces ball game against the Sky Sox! We really had a blast and the game was really exciting! The Sky Sox scored 4 runs in the first inning, we scored 3 in the 4th and another in the 6th to tie the game. Then the Sky Sox pulled ahead by one in the 7th inning. Then we scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th and the Sox struck out in the top of the 9th. It was a really close, very intense and exciting game! Thanks Alan and Abby for such a fun time!

Snowmobiling

This is super late, but when Khyl's family came to visit in March, his parents took us snowmobiling. It was very fun, but I found out that I don't like driving them at all. (The tour guide didn't think I looked old enough to in the first place.) So I let Khyl do the driving and just went along for the ride. Here are some of the pics from the fun time. Thanks again, Doug and Linda!

Congrats to Candice and Jared!

I am going to be an Auntie!! I am so excited! Khyl's brother, Jared, and his wife, Candice, are having a little boy! He is due on May 21 and they are naming him Jaxon. How cute! So I haven't mentioned this before because Linda and I had been planning a surprise baby shower for Candice on March 17th and I didn't want her to find out. She was so surprised!

Candice is THE CUTEST pregnant girl ever! The first thing she said when she walked through the door and saw all the presents and decorations was, "Oh No, Are we intruding?" She thought I was throwing a party for someone else! Silly girl!

Grandma Chris, Courtney, Michele, and Lori all came from Utah for the baby shower. (I didn't get a good picture of Lori... :( )

Candice's big pile of presents.

Check out this Rockin' Cake! The Nursery is a Music theme and so Amanda made this AMAZING cake! She is so talented! Buy a cake from her...her blog is smandacakes.blogspot.com

Courtney and Linda playing pin the Baby on the pregnant girl. Candice is trying so hard not to laugh.

CONGRATULATIONS CANDICE!!!

Spring Break

I think this is the first year I've actually taken time off work to enjoy Spring Break! Khyl and I went to Tahoe with our friends Becca, Phil, Kaylin, and Zachary. We stayed in a condo for the weekend, played in the snow, and hung out. Sooo fun!

Becca, Kaylin, and I making silly faces... :)

Phil and Khyl just couldn't keep up with us!

It's back...

So school is back in session and many of my friends may well think I have fallen off the face of the earth for how well I've been keeping in touch lately. Except for Abby, of course, we signed up for all the same classes this semester (intentionally) so I am with her for 6 hours on Tuesdays, 6 hours on Wednesdays, church, and whenever we get together to study! Hopefully, she doesn't get sick of me. :) I am so grateful to have such a great friend to go to class with. Here's a little update on how school has been so far:
1. Our science teacher gave us a huge assignment the first week! We had to read 94 pages of science research articles and write a mini-paper about it due the second day of class! It was pretty grueling and I had to pry my eyes open with toothpicks in the very first week! Arg! I think the teacher was trying to weed-out the no-so-serious students or something!
2. Abby and I chose to do our major math presentation the third week of class so we could get it out of the way and not have to worry about it the rest of the semester. We signed up to be the first presentation. We practiced it on Khyl, Phil, and Becca (thanks for sitting though it guys!) The practice must have helped, because our teacher told us that it was one of the best presentations she had ever seen! Woohoo! Abby and I make a great team! (The rest of the class wasn't so pleased with us for setting the bar so high!)
3. I have 4 3-hour classes each week. It is nice to only have to be on campus twice a week, but it is difficult to sit in class for 6 hours straight!

All in all, my classes have been very interesting, and I am already learning a ton! Since these are my methods classes, they are far more interesting and engaging than some of the other "required" classes I've taken just because I had to.

Only 12 weeks left this time around (but who's counting)... Wish me luck!

Grandpa

Khyl and I were supposed to fly home to Reno on Sunday, Dec. 28th, but instead we flew into Salt Lake City for my Grandpa's funeral on Monday the 29th instead. Grandpa was 88 years old and died on the 21st. He was an amazing man. He served in the AirForce, Coast Guard, and Army. He earned a purple heart during WWII and loved to tell stories. He lived with us for a while while I was in High School and would always make us Potato Pancakes for breakfast. He insisted that we wouldn't be able to think if we didn't eat breakfast. He was the best of the best and will be missed. I am so grateful that I know that families will be able to be together again after this life. Here are some pictures of the funeral service. It was freezing, but beautiful; he had a full military burial. My brothers, cousins, dad, and uncle were pallbearers and Jennifer and Dad played Taps.

22!!

So, this is way later than it should be, but My Birthday was Saturday, December 27th. Khyl were in AZ for Christmas so I got to spend my birthday with his family. Linda, Candice, and I (Tamera, we missed you) had a girls night on Friday night at Candices house. We went to Sonic for some Cherry-Limeaide, rented a chic-flick, gave ourselves pedicures, and talked all night long. It was so fun. In the morning (my birthday), we decided to go to IHOP for breakfast. And this is what I got when I got there:

SURPRISE!!!

The entire family (sans Justin, who's on a mission in Minnesota) was there to surprise me for my birthday! We had a great time and I was totally spoiled- check out that fatty stack of birthday presents behind Khyl's head! Later in the day, we went to the Mesa Temple as a family. It was the first time I had been there since Khyl and I got married. It is such a beautiful and peaceful place. I am so glad I was able to be there with my family.

Christmas

First thing Christmas morning, aka around 9:30, we opened our stockings which were stuffed full of goodies. Linda is so sweet, she even made a stocking with my name on it so I would feel at home. Then we had breakfast; bacon, eggs, and Lindas Rockin' Cinnamon Rolls! Yum! I did miss my Daddy's Waffles, though. Next, we formed an assembly line starting from the living room and passed the presents from under the tree down to the family room. The whole room was full of presents! The process of unwrapping them took a few hours. Khyl and Linda staring at all the presents.

Jared gaurding his and Candices stash with his drumsticks.

B-Love chillin' on the couch.

Jared and Candice.
Shaun opening his present from us while Linda and Brandon look on.
My "Spiritual Gift" from Linda and Doug- A scripture case made by Linda, a Scripture Journal, and "With Full Puropse of Heart" by Dallin H. Oaks.

After presents, the boys made a Filiberto's run for lunch (Khyl's favorite mexican fast food) and Candice, Tamara, and I decorated a gingerbread house. Check out that Snowman!
Later, we watched Horton Hears a Who as a Family and played games together after dinner.
It rained, no poured, ALL DAY LONG on Christmas in AZ. Back home in Reno, It snowed all day on Christmas. My family was watching Timber at my parents house and sent this picture to me of Timber playing in the snow.
It was a wonderful Christmas and I am so grateful we were able to spend it with our family.
