This week Cooper and MacKenzie stayed with Babi and Grandaddy so they could attend vacation bible school at my parents' church. So Melisa and I did our typical kid swap. One night I took the littles for a slumber party.
Casen liked playing with a baby doll
These two are so funny together. Tinsley is so chatty and a little momma to Casen. Casen is quite and tends to let her take the lead.
In the pic above they were talking about Ranger in the cage. Tinsley is really scared of dogs so she always begs (and cries) for me to put Ranger away. So we always start like this. As she gets comfortable we get her used to him and he gets to play and run around.
They went on a gator ride, but someone was whining about not going down the road.
Here is a pic of the Bigs at VBS
Playing legos with Tins.
The next morning they both woke up way too early. Casen brought Tins her chocolate milk.
Casen now has his backpack to stay with Aunt Lusa.
And the bigs got to play on the waterslide at Babi's
And have a picnic lunch.
Aunt Lusa picked up the littles and they watched a movie. They also had a dance party and got the cutest video.
And a snow cone stop.
The bigs had a visit to Dollar Tree and each got to pick 3 things.
Tuesday night we had Casen back so Wednesday morning we had a donut date
And on Thursday we got to go to Marley's birthday party at Chickfila
Saturday morning Cooper wanted me to build legos. I told him I couldn't help until I was done with my chores (laundry and dishes). He said 'I want to do chores and then I get some money!!' So he closed the door to the playroom and cleaned it up. He was so excited to show me the finished product.
Things were just crammed into baskets and buckets but the floor was clean. I praised him for his good job, gave him some money.....and fixed it all later :) I was really proud of him for trying and wanting to help.
Someone missed a nap but then passed out finally on the couch.
Sunday we went to mass dressed in our red, white, and blue.
Too busy for a picture of his face
Then we had a busy day before our friends came over to celebrate 4th of July (and Coop's birthday, kinda)
We had Aunt Jen Jen, Uncle David, Aunt Lusa, Uncle Trent, Mac, Tinsley, two of Trent's friends, Babi, Grandaddy, Tiffany, Jeff, and Aiden. I made pulled pork in the crockpot for pulled pork sliders, pasta salad, deviled eggs, veggies and ranch, fruit, cookies, and ice cream cones. Plus we had hotdogs for the kids and some chip and dip. It was the perfect sized party and yummy good.
The kids loved playing with poppers.
Cooper got to open two presents from Babi and Grandaddy
Fun with sidewalk chalk that was supposed to glow in the dark though it didn't seem to.
My boys were both scared of doing fireworks. Cooper loved watching but wanted nothing to do with a sparkler. Casen didn't love the noise but I convinced (forced) him to do a sparkler with me. And we ended up getting Kyle's earphone/noise things for hunting and Casen was a happy camper.
These two are just too cute together
And Jen, Jeff, and Kyle were lighting some fireworks to go off all together.
We didn't spend a ton of money but we had some good fireworks between what everyone brought. And our neighbors put on a great show (with their money! ha!) The funny thing is we got ready to start and realized no one had a lighter! We tried matches and using a candle but just wouldn't work. I finally walked to a neighbors and borrowed one.
I think we all felt like Casen after spending such a fun night with family and friends.
