Friday Favorites

This boy had a great day at school and was on pink (the best color) so he chose a coke as his reward

Tuesday I got a candle for our pumpkin and Cooper got to light it.

And of course Casen wanted a piece of the action

Kyle did a great job! Cooper kept praising him for how great it looked.

That night Cooper saw a commercial for Puppy Surprise and remembered me saying that I had one when I was little.  He asked me if he could see it so I got it out.  He just loved it!

He even wanted to sleep with them and made sure they could see the pictures as we read our book.

The next morning he picked one puppy to take to school and Casen also got to pick.  But then he was worried about the third puppy and asked me if I wanted to take it to work.  At first I said no, but then I thought 'what the heck!'

Here we are with our puppies

Unfortunately I got to my desk at work before I realized I lost my puppy and found him on the ground outside my car! Oops.  He fell off of my lap when I got out.  Which is where I put him so I wouldn't forget it! Ha!

Puppy at work. Cooper loved that I took her with me.

Thursday we wore our TCU gear for game day but someone wasn't in the picture taking mood

These girls were. And Aunt Lusa got us all donuts so we were happy!

Every Thursday I have lunch with some girls from work.  They picked Cantina Laredo and I said 'don't judge but I am ordering the table side guacamole as my meal because it is the best.'  I ate the whole thing and it was delicious. I wanted the queso too but Kyle wasn't there.

Thanks to my roomie, Jodi I had two tickets to the game last night.  Kyle declined going so I took my sister. The game was blackout so we wore our black TCU gear.  I must say all of the black gear was a bit morbid to me.

But I love this picture of us!

Here with Claire and Jodi. The four girls sat together and their two husbands sat in other seats.

For the end of the game we went down to visit some friends that had really good seats

I didn't go to bed until 11:30 so my 5am alarm sure did come fast.

Today the boys got to wear their costumes to school for a few hours and then change clothes.  The sweetest little Robin.

Batman had a rough morning and after a 30 minute battle of things itching him, choking him, etc, he changed out of his costume in the day-care bathroom. It was a complete meltdown this morning.  I kept offering to change him to regular clothes but he wanted to wear his costume, but then everything about the costume bothered him.  It was a great start to my morning!

I left his costume at his cubby in case he changed his mind and his teachers wanted to change him.  I was really tempted to take it with me and let him learn his lesson, but I decided to be the bigger person.  I really felt sorry for him.  He loved the costume when he tried it on a month ago but he never sat down.  And at home he sat down and the plastic chest plate moved up to his chin and that is what was 'choking' him.  The sucky thing is that he has asked me at least once a week since then to wear it and I said he had to wait until Halloween so it wouldn't get messed up.  Now I am kinda wishing I had let him so he would get used to it or realize we needed a different costume #mommyfail #4yearoldproblems

I hope you all have a safe and Happy Halloween! We have a fun, busy weekend ahead!

Okie Nana's 104th Birthday

Back in July we celebrated Kyle's great-grandmother's 104th birthday.

This is 5 generations celebrating. Cooper wasn't in the best mood.

But dessert made it all better. We had all kinds of deserts

Silly boys!

Swim lessons

Back in the summer Cooper took swim lessons.  My sister is a teacher and off for the summer so she took him along with MacKenzie and their friend Vincent.  I attended his last session to watch him.  I took lots of pictures but never took the time to share them.

Practicing kicking

More kicking at the side of the pool

Face in the water

More kicking

Floating!! He was too busy smiling to really float. It was adorable!

See the dead legs?

After the lesson they get to go in the hot tub and that of course is his favorite part.

Playing with one of his teachers

Excited boy with his certificate

Mac

And Vincent

Cooper was very hesitant about swim lessons and had a tough time the first few classes. Luckily he got more comfortable each time.  The class was only two weeks so he wasn't able to swim by the end but it was a good start.

Weekend Recap

Friday evening we went to Tio Tony's. We joked that my dad came to dinner but sat two tables over. Sorry random guy we took a picture of :)  After dinner the boys played their games and then Kyle decided we needed ice cream so we went to Sonic. It was pouring all evening.

Saturday morning the boys and I went to get donuts together...in the rain

Then Cooper and I ran some errands together including Hobby Lobby.  This was before the crazy started.  Cooper has been so wound up lately and didn't do well at listening.  On the way to Target he apologized for not listening and said he would be better.  He did do mostly better at Target.

While at Target we saw this Halloween book and bought it.  Cooper and I love it!

We put together this birthday gift for my college roommate's little girl who turned one.  When I asked Jodi what Hannah wanted for her birthday she said she didn't need anything. Well we all know it doesn't work that way.  So what do you get the girl who has everything?  I can't share the contents yet because the birthday party got cancelled due to a sick birthday girl.  But I am giving them the gift on Thursday and will share on Friday.

Since all of our Saturday plans fell through we stayed around the house.  While the boys napped I finished a project that has been in the works for years...YEARS!! I saved this on Pinterest at least 3 years ago.

And soon after my FIL cut the wood for me and I painted them orange.  Then I couldn't figure out how to get words on them so they sat in a closet or packed in a box when we moved.  Then a year ago I got the bright idea to have my friend Jen use her cricut or something similar to do them in vinyl.  Then I bought stuff at Hobby Lobby Saturday morning and finished them up.  What do you think? I am in love with them!!

He really is a gremlin! This was under my bathroom door!

Saturday we just picked up pizza for dinner and stayed home. Right before bed Casen was still hungry so I made him a waffle. I walked out of the kitchen and I heard Casen start whine. I went into the kitchen and he said 'Da dog bite. E bite me!' I loved hearing those two sentences and I reminded Casen that is what he gets for teasing Ranger.  I know that is what he was doing because it is a near daily occurrence. He doesn't bite he takes it out of Casen's hands and can feel his teeth, but I PROMISE he doesn't hurt him! Someone looks a little guilty, does he not?

Saturday we also FINALLY finished my picture collage in our entry. Please excuse the crooked picture taking (you can tell at the bottom by the leaning table! But I promise everything on the wall is level.  I have to print one more picture for the bottom center frame of Cooper.

And here it is with my fall décor

A close-up. My granny made me that table runner in 2008.  And I cannot remember for the life of me where I got that wooden turkey but I love it!

Sunday morning I went to early mass (a little late because I overslept) and then went to the grocery store.  Wal-mart was out of two ingredients I needed for chili so it was a bit frustrating.  I got over my frustration with these.

After the grocery store we went to Ennis for lunch at my parents.  Then that afternoon they took late naps (my boys were so hyper this weekend and wore me out)

I made two pots of chili (because Kyle doesn't like his spicy like I do) and a batch of chocolate Neiman Marcus bars.  The jury is still out on if I like the dessert.  But the chili was delicious!

Kyle brought home a pumpkin for the boys to carve after dinner.  Cooper was excited until he found out what was on the inside.  I think this face says it all.

Cooper wanted nothing to do with sticking his hand in that pumpkin.  But Casen took one look thought about it for 3 seconds and dove in!

Bringing out one pumpkin seed at a time :)

Our weekend didn't go as planned but we still had a good one.  I will share final pictures of the pumpkin later this week.
