Weekend recap

One night I caught Casen playing on the couch and he was really concentrating.

Notice in this second picture the colors of the pegs. I like to think he gets this from me.  I was a sorter as a kid. My family still talks about how I would sit down with playing cards and sort them all different ways.

Then we did our advent wreath and this is what it is like getting pictures of these two.

Proof we have Christmas lights. Yes there is a section on the right that is out. #goodenough

I am hoping to buy some yard décor for fun day after Christmas.  And next year we will likely pay someone to hang lights on our house because of our elevation.

Friday Cooper and Casen had their holiday parties.  I couldn't go but Aunt Lusa and Uncle Trent stopped by.

Then Friday night Kyle went hunting so the boys and I went to Branded Burger. I love Branded Burger, but Kyle doesn't care for it.  And Cooper has discovered his love for a cheeseburger with pickles!

Casen has a love for pickles hold the cheeseburger and French fries.  He really loves Whataburger French fries in cream gravy #boyaftermyheart #needtoordertwogravy

After eating well they were rewarded with a game

Casen chose candy

When we got home Casen knew it was time for the Advent wreath.  He seriously remembers for us to do it every night. Not sure what will happen after Christmas.

This page has the prayers on it. Casen knows that I always ask him who he wants to pray for and each time he says 'daddy'.  So before I even got started he pointed to the paper and said 'for daddy'

Sweetest praying hands ever!! In case you are wondering why Cooper isn't in these pictures it is because he doesn't always participate.  Casen wants to do it so he can blow out the candles. I should make Cooper do it with us, but I like the time with Casen.

Saturday morning we went to a party for our cousin Quinn.  Cooper's ear was still bothering him so he chose to stay home with Kyle.  Casen and I had a blast.

Sweet Noah is the easiest 1 year old ever.  I think it is because he is the 3rd child and just goes with the flow. In fact, he already has a baby brother!

Casen loved the slide.  I am thinking a bounce party for him next year like we did for Cooper's 3rd birthday.

The birthday boy wanted to go down the slide with Noah and I so we stopped for a selfie.

Saturday evening we went to Mimi and Grandpa's to play and watch football. Casen found the perfect spot to eat his goldfish.

And the boys had so much with Uncle T home.

Sunday after mass the boys and I checked out the nativity at the front of church.

And then our weekly fountain pic

Casen kept standing by the tree saying 'cheese' so I took his picture.

And wanting to light the Advent wreath himself! #pyrobaby

After nap I told the boys we would all have hot chocolate together. Notice in this picture Casen has a lid.

Well he was so upset because he wanted to be like Cooper and wanted his lid off....So I took it off...BIG MISTAKE!

20 seconds later this happened! Sticky hot chocolate everywhere! Ranger liked it!

But I told myself it was worth it after Cooper said 'my hot chocolate is sooo good! Thank you for making me and Casen hot chocolate, mommy.' #makingmemories #makingmesses

Kyle was gone all day Sunday but when he got home we went to a late dinner at Tio Tony's because Kyle and I had been wanting Mexican food all weekend.

Cooper's Sick Day

Last Monday I got a call at 4pm that Cooper had a fever and had to be picked up from day-care. I knew he couldn't go back to school the next day without a doctor's note and I had Tuesday as a vacation day.  So I called and made an appointment for Tuesday morning.  When he got up that morning he told me his ear was wet. When I looked at his ear he had yellow drainage so I figured it was an ear infection.  We went to the doctor and Cooper's right ear drum had ruptured.  Since it was nothing contagious he could go back to school.  I asked him and he pathetically said 'no because I am really sick.  But then just 30 seconds later was bouncing around telling me all about the ninja turtles.  I decided that as long as he was feeling okay I would drag him along for a couple of errands as I had a list of things to do on my vacation day.

First stop was Chickfila for breakfast. When we pulled up he asked if we could eat inside and if he could pick the table.  Sure!

Then we went to Academy for Aunt Lusa and he said 'I NEED a fishing pole!!' I checked with one of Santa's helpers that I was pretty sure already took care of that 'need'.

Then we went to the mall and Cooper was thrilled to ride the elevator and push the buttons.

Then I saw this and asked him what he was doing to which he replied 'just being a statue' without turning around.

Next request was to try on sunglasses. Another easy request!

Time for the elevator again.

We thought these emoji pillows were funny. Especially the poop one!

Then we stopped for a cookie because he was 'soooo hungry'.  I have to share a story because I want to remember. Hopefully it doesn't offend any of my readers.

When we were waiting to get Cooper's cookie the person was busy.  Cooper said 'he will help us in a minute.' The person helped us and asked Cooper in a feminine voice 'are you ready for Christmas?' Cooper's jaw dropped and he said yes quietly. As we walked away Cooper said 'Is that a boy or a girl?' I said a girl because her nametag said Brianna. To be fair the person was dressed in a hoodie, short hair, and I too was wondering if it was a boy or girl. It made me laugh as I watched his process the situation.

Then we took one last trip on the escalator.

He decided to have his cookie in the car.

Unfortunately the icing made a mess and after two bites he was DONE! (but he was sooo hungry earlier!)

When we got home we made a color chart similar to school so we could work on his behavior at home.

Then it was naptime and he wanted me to lay with him.

And to cuddle.

After nap he begged to go ride the gator so we took Ranger on a walk.

And we cleaned up the playroom and some stuff to get rid of and some stuff to store.

My vacation day didn't go as planned, but it was a great day with my boy.  When we were laying down for nap he said 'I like doing stuff with you, mommy.' I will enjoy that while it lasts and will treasure these memories.
