I've lost an entire month somewhere and I can not find it. I know the month of April happened, because I have some pictures from it, but man! Time is flying fast. Honestly, I'm cool with that. The sooner we get through summer, the sooner my baby comes home from California. One thing that happened in April was Easter. We have always (except Covid Easter) participated in a Schramm Family Easter Egg Hunt. It is an event! The number of little grand kids participating is shrinking rapidly. Here are the ones that hunted!
Hayden didn't participate because we have a rule of 12 and older is too old, but I do buy them off with their own bag of candy. He was fine to hang out with cousins though.
Kate and Sadie are pretty good friends. Im glad they have each other.
Easter Sunday was also General Conference, so we actually did our "dress up for Easter" Sunday the week before. These kids can look cute and clean! Now Im glad I have some photographic evidence. We have been busy with wrestling tournaments. We only have a week left for the summer and that makes me sad. Wresting has been so good for Hayden! We are looking forward to him starting again in the fall and hopefully he will be on the high school team.
Kate has been very busy working on her round-off back handspring. She was doing so many classes and so many private lessons! She FINALLY got it!!!! These are her celebratory muscle poses.
And then she got an "overuse" injury and had to quit for 2 weeks. No bueno. Now she is slowly going back to gymnastics, but needs help again on that back handspring.
We did have a nice day and decided to take the kids on a long bike ride. We figured we did a little over 10 miles. It was nice to get outside and move a little. Hopefully there will be many more bike rides. This was the first time Kate did it all on her own. She did great..... except at the end she had enough and let us all know about it. I got my first text from a family in California sharing a picture of Corrine! Because California has been in such lock down, this was one of the first times she has really been able to go inside a home! It was such a nice surprise to get this picture and the very nice text praising Corrine for being such a great missionary. Another great happening here..... LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!! We usually end school the last day of April. This year, we have cousins coming from Michigan so we bumped the last day up by 2 weeks and worked extra hard. The kids think they are happier than I am about it, but Im so ready for school to be done!!In other happy news, masks are starting to go away! There are places now we aren't required to wear masks! So, we don't!! No mask wrestling tournaments!
Happy, happy, happy. I will admit I felt a little naughty going into WalMart with no mask for the first time in over a year. I'll adjust to the feeling through. A week after my new found maskless freedom, I took Kate to WalMart. She was SO HAPPY to be there with no mask.
No mask debate class! We are all smiles around here!
Keith, Sariah and I have all got our first doses of the vaccine. They had mild reactions, but it really kicked my booty. I'm not sure I'm looking forward to the second dose in a couple of weeks. For now I don't think about it. I did loose 7 pounds over night, so maybe I am looking forward to the next dose! April, you went by so quickly! Deep down I hope time keeps marching on! I'm ready for a maskless summer vacation!
