Finally spring and all it brings
We finally have some nice weather and that means my motivation has come back. I am pretty sure my motivation kicks in when the outside temperature is over 55 and the snow/rain has gone away. I decided to focus my attention on the girls room. I have no idea why I felt like it needed to be cleaned.
In February I'm in survival mode and things tend to fall apart.
This is much better. Hopefully the girls can keep it clean for at least aweek day.
My motivation and the list of projects sent us outside to the garden. It is time to pull all of the weeds that have been thriving in all the rain we have been getting. Do you like Kate's "backpack"? It was a great place to put the picked weeds. Everyone except Corrine got to spend all day Friday working in the garden. We all have sore muscles and sunburns now! Corrine has been studying for school tests so she is having her own kind of fun.
These are some of my favorite signs of summer. I love our fire pit area. I also love the laundry line area. Summer is finally coming!
Kate is a gymnastics master! Do you see the handstand in the background?
Hayden needed a little humbling and Keith was willing to provide the lesson. Dads are good for young men.
Smores is the best way to to relax after working hard in the garden all day.
This weekend was also Easter! We did the Schramm family Easter Egg hunt at Aunt Karens house. We are to the point where most of the grandkids do the hiding of the eggs and only a few are small enough to do the hunting.
Hayden is climbing the rope to get to the egg at the top of the swings. The older kids hide the eggs in some pretty tricky places!
The girls all got our 40 Days for Life shirts. Kates shirt is a little large, but she still wanted to wear it. If you haven't seen Unplanned.... GO SEE IT!
Corrine LOVES Kate. Kate LOVES Corrine. These two are so much alike. I could not ask for a better example for the younger kids to follow.
Corrine takes Sariah and Hayden to the temple every Friday. I am so grateful for her example of temple attendance. Im grateful for good kids that love the temple!
Part of our gospel study was about the Good Samaritan. We decided we would share some treats with a few friends in the neighborhood. I love this home centered gospel study plan. It has been such a blessing for us.
Sariah loves to drive the old tractor around. These kids are pretty good to help with yard work!
We are basically done with official school work. The kids are still required to do a couple of math lessons a day and some reading each day. Part of homeschool is realizing that school is really a way of life and we are always learning and progressing... even in the summer. Things are more relaxed though and no one likes that more than the teacher.
A more relaxed school schedule allows for a little more imagination and play. This is always a better way to do geometry.
I am happy that the weather is nice enough and its light enough in the evenings that I can get back to walking while Kate is at gymnastics. Man, Ive needed the sunshine!
Another crazy week in the books! I am happy for the nice weather and the ending of official school work! The year of change has a lot more to give..... I'll be blogging about that in a couple of weeks!

These are notes from Corrines latest gospel study. Kate watches everything Corrine does.

Tulip Fesival!
One week ago I was posting pictures of SNOW! Today.... TULIPS!! Warm weather. We are over 70! Kate actually complained about being "too hot" outside! We had too much fun at the tulip festival so it deserved its own blog. I took Sariah and Kate while Hayden was at his maker space class at Thanksgiving Point. It was a perfect afternoon!
There were about 1000000 people wandering the gardens. I kind of thought it wouldn't be as crowded with no spring break, middle of the day in the middle of the week. I guess we weren't the only ones with spring fever.
Did I mention how nice it was?! PERFECT temperature. Sariah even took off her jacket. That never happens!
Perfect flowers.
Sariah found some inspiration and took a few moments to write her book.
Kate practiced cartwheels and round offs. It seemed the perfect place.
These are the carpool kids I hang out with on Tuesdays. They are so fun to listen to!
Im so thankful for spring!
