Things we never thought we would see

This is shocking, but I have now done the blog with less than a month separating entries! What!? This blog is titled THINGS WE THOUGHT WE WOULD NEVER SEE.

#1: A blog post by mom in less than a month.

#2: Camille takes up boxing. Kidding. I didn't. I did have a surgery (this is not the shocking part). I had to get some blood work before the surgery. It did not go well. I had to get stuck several times due to low potassium levels.

#3: Kate preparing for debate. How is she old enough? Technically, she isn't. But she had a special debate/meeting with Sam and he deemed her mature enough to handle debate class. So, we will be paying money to have another kid learn to argue with us.

#4: Kate in the hospital for vomiting/dehydration. Fine. This is not shocking. It seems to happen at least once each summer. It is shocking she started early over memorial weekend instead of the end of summer.

#5: Landon in a firefighters hat! If you didn't know, police and fireman have a deep running hatred for each other. Denise thought it would be great to get him a fireman's hat and a golden ticket to tour a fire station. He was a good sport and let me take a picture.
 Happy Birthday, Landon!

#6: Kate actually got her hair cut! We never ever thought this would happen. Corrine bribed her with a shake. While she still hates it down long, Kate will admit it is much easier to brush short.

#7: The floor and cupboards can actually be cleaned. I'm sort of on a DEEP, DEEP cleaning kick. The kids are less excited about this new mood of mine, but they are good sports to mostly help.

Corrine gets married!

*Editors note: The blog was SERIOUSLY behind. I did my best to catch up. If you want to start with the catch up post, go here https://kcschramm.blogspot.com/2024/05/oops-behind-again.html

If you read from there and follow the date back toward this current blog, things will probably make more sense. *

Corrine gets married! I do not have the professional wedding pictures back yet, but I will share what I was able to get. Wedding morning started early! I got up at 5 to have Kay start on my hair and make up at 5:30am! I do not do mornings. That was rough. Corrine got up at 6:30 and started her day!

Kate was so excited to be part of wedding activities. Usually, she doesn't like her hair down long, or done fancy, but she really wanted to look nice for the wedding and I appreciated that.

Doesn't she look so grown up?

These amazing people helped with the luncheon and the reception. What a great team of helpers! Thank you Denise, Andrew, Lyndzee, Anna, Koby, Hayden, Kate, Landon and Keith!

I was able to get a few pictures of the reception before a lot of people came. Once the people came, we were busy visiting the entire day. But what a great day it was!!

My people!

After the luncheon, Kay switched Corrine's hair up so it wouldn't get tangled all night hugging people. Isn't this just amazing?!

Corrine and Landon, we love you and we are so happy for you. We are excited to see what the future holds for you! What a power couple! Go get things done!
(I really need those professional pictures back!)

Wedding Prep

No one prepared me for how exhausting and messy the wedding prep would be. There are so many things to consider. I think the thing that got me the most was numbers. Numbers!  How many people? How many invitations? How much money? How many tables? How much food? How much money?  How many flowers? Then, the mess. Wedding blew up.

Practice run on the make up and hair! Auntie Kay, thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I can't really do the flowers, invitations, or hair. However, I stayed on top of paying people money. I think they appreciated that.   I think I did a great job on the organization.

Wedding prep! Whew. I need a nap.

Weddings! But not who you think

Before we could have Corrine and Landon's wedding in May, we needed to get through April. This was more difficult, and fun, that it sounds. I had THREE weddings before Corrines. The first, was Bethany Fox. You may believe in coincidence but I certainly do not. What are the chances that my best friend and walking partner has a daughter getting married within a month of Corrine's wedding? Very low. A very loving Heavenly Father knew that I would need Betsy through this experience and the one thing better than sympathy is empathy. So, Bethany got married!!!

Oh, Betsy I love you!
I love the Fox family so much. We have been through so much together and I know they are a blessing to me and my family. These people are all amazing.

Then, a loving Heavenly Father said, Camille, you need extra help and back up. Julie, my sister in law whom Im very close to, also had a wedding. Ok,she had two! TWO weddings in 8 days! Woah! First up, Andrew and Lyndzee.  Man I love these kids!
I love these two as well!
These cousins have been friends since birth and I am so grateful for that!
Aren't those some nice log slices? Keith made those for the several weddings.
Nicely stocked charcuterie board? Yep, my family kept that sucker looking good all night long!
More cousins. More happiness.
Schramm people waiting for Andrew and Lyndzee to come out.

Then, Anna and Koby! I also love these two!
Kate got to hold the bridal bouquet until Anna came out. She reports it was heavy!
Aren't these two so cute?!  I love them!

I also LOVE this family. I love this family so much. We have also been through a lot with them and I am so grateful for them. I wish they didn't live in Michigan, but despite the distance, we are good friends and I am so grateful for that.
Another amazing log slice?  Yes, yes indeed.
Keith has been so good to help with whatever at the many weddings. There was much help require before, during, and after the weddings. He is a trooper!

It was such a blessing to help with these 3 weddings and spend time with their moms with weddings being the center of conversation.
