Bookcase Bailey

We have a bookcase that, because Bailey likes to eat books, we haven't filled yet, so it sits empty in the living room. We often find her inside of the bookcase playing and took some pictures because she's just too adorable!

The Great Pumpkin Patch

Saturday we went to the Great Pumpkin Patch and JoAnna, Melvin, and Owen were in town, so they joined us (Jayson's sister, her husband and son).
Our little rooster, who, although not up at the "crack of dawn," is our own little alarm clock.

Bailey & Cousin Owen

My little pumpkin is growing so tall! (She wasn't too happy having her feet in the dirt).

The "cornbox" was a blast and went much better than I expected. She was playing in the corn box for 15 minutes or so before she decided to try and eat the corn!

Owen--what a trooper. He's 5 months old and not quite sitting on his own. So, at first we propped him up with corn and he soon fell back, but he didn't seem to mind!

Family picture on the haystack pyramid.

Another family picture.

Bailey isn't the only one who had fun. I got my first married pumpkin and I'm excited to carve it. We're even planning on going back one night to let her play some more in the cornbox and go on the hayride. It was a fun experience and I can't wait until next year when she'll be old enough to go on the train ride. I think this will become a family tradition as long as we are here.

10 Month Firsties

Shortly after Bailey was born my sister-in-law gave me this wonderful picture frame that chronicles the first year of Bailey's life in pictures. Yesterday I put in her 9 month & 10 month pictures and it struck me that I only have 2 more empty picture holes to fill. Everyone said it would go by fast, but I didn't realize just HOW fast. I look at pictures of her when she was just born and I miss that little itty bitty baby. But, then I look at her now, and all that she's doing, and I can't image her at any other stage.

She took her first steps today and I MISSED it! I was ironing clothes and she took 2 steps toward Jayson. I keep waiting for her to do it again so I can see it (and hopefully get it on video)! She's been ready to start walking for the last month or so, but hasn't had the nerve to take those first steps. Well, it looks like she does now!

The other big "milestone" (if you can call it that) is that his adorable girl won't sleep in her own bed. She's ended up in our bed the last week and a half. Ugh, it's starting to drive us crazy and we can't get her to sleep for more than an hour in her crib. We get so tired of fighting her that we just give up and put her in bed with us, and then Jayson eventually leaves and sleeps on the couch. So any ideas would be appreciated!

Regardless though we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this little girl!

Park Play Time

Between General Conference sessions we went to a park that is a block from our home. This is the first time we've actually taken Bailey out and tried to get her to play with all of the fun toys.

Did you notice her face in most of the pictures? She never quite knew what to make of the whole experience until we got to the swings. Then she had fun. But she must have worn herself out because she fell asleep on the walk home and is still asleep!
