Can You Really Recap 6 Months??

WELL, I'M GONNA TRY!!!!

Brooksman LOVES his picture taken, and he LOVES to be silly

Not sure if I'll ever be able to say "no" to this face!!

This little boy had croup!! This was taken at the doctor's office right before his shot. He wasn't so happy, then

Brooks loved making marshmallow snowmen!

We took him to Santa's village in Richardson. We didn't stay too long because is was SUPER crowded!

Stu made a gingerbread house with Brooks

His babysitter decided to put some gel in his hair and style it! So precious!

Making those snowmen cupcakes

We got to take Brooks on the North Pole Express train in Grapevine! It was a lot of fun, and brooks loved every second of it! This is us at the pre show with him before they let us get on the train. We rode the train for about 30 minutes

About to get on board

Santa made a stop and gave every child a bell! Brooks started crying because he thought that was the only gift santa was going to bring him, and he said he had asked for Chuggington trains! haha...it was funny

Christmas at Mamay and Pappys

We celebrated 4 days of Christmas fun with Stu's side of the family! These are the only kids who stayed up late one night

We went to play at a place called Nickel-rama. Brooks accidentally won 300 tickets by just pushing a button on one game!! It was crazy and funny

We got to dog-sit a little puppy named Bandit. Brooks absolutely fell in love, and this is a picture of the two of them when we were on our way to bring Bandit home.

Brooks is always asking to take pictures of him, so he asked if I would take one of him and Levi.

And now my computer is acting up...so I will continue later:) These are just the highlights from the past few months!

Make a video - it's fun, easy and free!

So I tried to upload 2 videos at once, and it ended up combining them! The first part of the video is just of Levi a few months ago. The second one is from this morning. Enjoy!

Halloween 2011

Our Halloween weekend began Friday night with a fun photo session at our friend, Landon's studio! He has a photography business called DayDream Photography, and he is just amazing. My parents came in town, brought over Taylor and Grayson, and we all packed up and went to take pictures in costumes!

Saturday, we didn't do too much but hang around the house and go to Morgan's birthday party at the Taylor's house. My parents left Sunday morning, and I was sad to see them go, but grateful for the visit! Sunday we went to church, and then we had a party for our Lifegroup that night. It was a Halloween party so all the kiddos got to dress up! Cue time #2 for Buzz and Pumpkin.

This is a picture of all the Lifegroup kids, minus poor Eli because he wasn't feeling well!
The kids were able to hit a pumpkin piƱata. Brooks was TERRIBLE!! haha...it was seriously hilarious. While other boys (and girls) were hitting with all their strength, Brooks just kept tapping it to make the pumpkin spin around. He liked it though, and that's all that matters!

Finally Halloween arrived, and it started off as a normal day until the evening! We started off by going to my church's Shreek on the Creek. Brooks was able to play some games, eat pizza, and grab some candy! We couldn't stay too long, however, b/c we had to go to Brooks' preschool. Brooks' teacher Mrs. Pat always puts on a Halloween party every year where she just goes above and beyond! We took pictures, went trick or treating, then came back for some yummy snacks. Levi slept the ENTIRE time. We ended off the night by filling up his candy bucket even more with all the goodie bags parents had bought! It was a great Halloween, and it was really fun having 2 kids this year!

Here is an ok picture of Brooks' preschool friends and Mrs. Pat. I'm going to try and see if I can find a better picture!

Here is Brooks sitting at the table waiting to eat some food!

Why is it

...that the only time I feel sorry for myself is when I have to kill a bug in the house?

Levi at 6 months

I know this is a little late since he is almost 6 1/2 months, but here we go:

1. You are definitely sitting up all by yourself.

2. You babble and spit bubbles a lot! It's really cute. I need to remind myself to record it before you stop doing it!

3. You are eating fruits and veggies now. I'm finding it interesting that you make nasty faces at the fruit, but dive your head towards the spoon for the vegetables! You definitely don't get that from me:)

4. You are sitting up in the bathtub with Brooks now. You splash a lot, and at first Brooks hated it, but now he thinks it is fun.

5. You are SO easygoing and just easy in general. You smile at almost everyone, and don't mind being held by anyone.

6. You go to bed between 7 and 8 o'clock depending on what we are doing. You usually wake up between 5 and 6 o'clock. (except for days like Saturday when it was 4:15 a.m.! yeah, thanks for that one!)

7. You grab for anything that is put infront of you.

8. You like for a blanket to be laid across your eyes when you are falling asleep

9. You went to the doctor and you weighed 18 lbs 8 oz! You were in the 95th percentile for height, and 75th for weight.

10. I seriously wish I could just hold and cuddle with you all day. You are SO ticklish, and it is hilarious to hear you grunt when we tickle you sometimes:)

11. Usually, I just have to look at you and say, "Boo!" and you crack up laughing

Levi at 5 Months

1. You are sitting up on a regular basis
2. You reach for, pull, and grab anything that is in front of you!
3. You still make sweet cooing noises
4. When we went to the doctor at 4 months, you were 16 lbs, can't imagine what you are now!
5. You take about 6oz of formula every 3-4 hours.
6. You sleep about 11 hours a night!
7. You don't take long naps during the day, though.
8. You LOVE going to your daycare and just smile so big when you see Ms. Val
9. You still love to put your toes in your mouth
10. You are interested in lots of toys, and Brooks loves bringing you new toys!

You are growing so fast! It's hard to believe you will be 6 months very soon:)

Hard

Life is hard. School is hard. Being a mom is hard. Being a good wife is hard. Cleaning my house is hard. Getting sleep is hard. Doing something productive after work is hard. Making dinner every night is hard. Putting my son to bed while stopping all of his excuses to get up is hard. Getting up to my alarm is hard. Finding time for reading my Bible is hard. Going to work instead of staying with my boys is hard. Paying their childcare fee is hard. Finding time for my best friends is hard.  Eating well is hard. Finding time to exercise is hard.  Getting out the door on time each morning is hard.

...there, I said it. I feel better!

Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes

A few weeks ago, Brooks had a talent show at his preschool. We decided we would dress him up in sweats, and he would "exercise" for everyone and sing "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes." The night before the talent show, I was trying to practice with Brooks to make sure he had it. Stu took a video of our practice session. Since he took it on his phone, I have to have it on 2 separate videos b/c the files were too big to send me altogether.

Oh, and please notice his shorts that are on backwards...he put them on that way after going to the bathroom at preschool that day, and kept telling me they were on correctly:)

Sweet Sounds of Levi

I wanted to record Levi when he is cooing and making all kinds of noises these days! It is just SOOOO sweet, and I love it so much! He usually makes these sweet sounds after he has eaten. Love this boy so much!

A Spittin' Good Time

Normally, we don't allow Brooks to spit at all, but this afternoon at lunch, he did it once, and Levi giggled a little bit. So Brooks did it again, and Levi began to laugh, laugh, laugh! It was pretty cute, and Brooks enjoyed the opportunity to break a rule with his parents' support:)
