Disneyland

The weather was great! We had a few moments of sprinkles, and a little over cast. Just enough coolness to buy the girls a sweatshirt for memories and warmth.

As of Late...

It has been so long since I updated our blog. Let me fill you in on what has been happening around here. I finished my school year teaching 2nd grade, and I am very happy that the summer is finally here! As of now I do not have a contract for next year. Due to budget cuts and another charter school coming in, that has taken many teachers jobs away. I know things will work out, so I am not too stressed.

I received my degree and was able to graduate along with my good ol' brother in-law. Most the family was able to come support our accomplishment, and we sure appreciated it, thank you!

This Summer I started with a bang and resumed my love for running. I have not worked my way up to more than 3 miles so far, but I still love it. Big sis has taken on the big responsibility of baby sitting during my run. Half the time daddy is here sleeping or getting ready to take off, but either way she is "in charge". She is loving earning a whole dollar, and I am enjoying not paying a sitter to show up on my door step at 7 am so I can get my work out in.

Last week we took our family to Disneyland for 3 days and the beach for one, it was a lot of fun. We ended up cheating with both of the girls to get on a few rides. Both girls were 1/4" too short for a few rides, so we used a couple napkins to our advantage. Brooklyn was able to experience California Screamin at least 2 times and loved it, as well as Tower of Terrors. She was the only one laughing the whole time, while everyone else was screaming. And of course our little lady got to experience the lovely jelly fish that bounces and Sorrin. A great time! Just remember the main inches you are wanting to hit are 40" and 46".

Now that we are home, I am tutoring reading 3 days a week for some extra cash. I only have 3 students as of now, but looking for more. I think that ties things up as of late.

Christmas

The girls were up bright and early to see if Santa came, and sure enough it was not a let down. They each got the one big gift they wanted, and played with them all day.

Snow Day

We have had a fun week full of snow and cold. We actually got to stay home from school one day. My friend called for us to go over first thing in the morning when she heard there was no school. We built a snow man, had hot coco, coffee, and what not. We had so much fun! It was great to spend the day with friends.

The day before snow day the girls were so excited that our grass was a little white. They went out to play before we had to leave for school. Their favorite thing was to run onto the tramp, stop, then slide onto their backs. I watched them through the window in fear they just might get whip lash. But they laughed every time.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was at our home this year. Our family is blessed to have become so large and consists of a lot of young kids. We figured our house would be more accommodating due to the playroom and back yard. Thanksgiving was great, although we missed those who were unable to make it this year. Charlene, my big sis from Alaska, made it for the first time in many years. We loved having her here! We spent the day preparing, visiting, and eating. Mom always comes up with a fun activity for everyone. This year the girls painted pottery. I painted two mugs to give to my little girls for Christmas. They turned out so cute. It was a perfect activity for just the girls. Saturday, DJ and Dev created a day of fun at their house. It started around two. We ate some good food, made crafts, and had climbing competitions. I am not sure who ended up winning, but I do know that I could not get up the wall without falling, yet Becky zoomed up like nothing in 18 seconds I think. DJ also had a couple 4 wheelers and a rhino. Well the day did not end well. The rhino tipped over on DJ and exploded his hand. He was life flighted to SLC where they spent 3 hours repairing just one knuckle! We had a lot fun, but what a terrible accident. Sorry DJ, we all thought of you all night long, and then for 3 days until you got home. We love you.

I'm back

A few weeks ago I took my blog off line due to some bad feelings I was having. At the time I was unable to sleep due to this feeling, so I got out of bed, opened my blog and restricted all views. I would hate for the wrong person to see this and come after me or the kids. Well, I think I keep it pretty minimal. If I happen to say something that is to much please let me know. I enjoy posting when I have the time. This and my face book has been a great way for me to keep up with my friends and family. Plus I admit, it is all a bit addicting.

No more training wheels!

Daddy took Brooklyn's training wheels off again, in an attempt to teach her how to ride. This time it worked! She picked it up in only a few minutes, and was cruising around. Daddy decided to take her for a nice long bike ride around our loop, 2 miles. On the home stretch Brooklyn went into the dirt and lost control and flew down a 6 foot gully, only to be stopped by a barbed wire fence. OUCH :( Brooklyn got back on her bike and they rode the rest the way home. She was cut up a bit, but she would not let me take pictures of it. I think it may have scared her a lot more than it hurt her. She did not want to stop riding to take a bath, and right after her bath she was ready to ride again. I told her she would have to wait until Sunday to ride again. She is addicted to riding, finally. This just goes to show that when she wants to accomplish something, she can do anything she sets her mind to.

Tag, I am it...

Thank you sis for the tag...
Hummmm I need to list 5 things that are unique or nobody knows about me. Lets give this a try.
1. I have been able to wrap my legs around my head since I was Brooklyn's age.
2. Only have one memory of going out to eat as a family when I was young...What a treat that was, McDonalds!
3. Grew up poverty but had no clue.
4. In 7th and 8th grade I had my own bedroom or should I say a shelf...seriously.
5. My dad died when I was 15 years old.

I tag Solinda, Nina, Mary Rose, and Amy
