Best of 2022

We're only through two months of 2022, but that doesn't mean the good reads have stopped! This year I've read some excellent books. My favorites include: 11/22/63 by Stephen King In an Instant by Suzanne Redfearn You'd Be Home Now by Kathleen Glasgow Some of these might get bumped off the list before December of this year. What books should I add to my to-read stack?

My Big News

There are a few options for how a college student studying teaching can complete their 'student teaching' requirement.  1: Actual student teaching, in another teacher's classroom for an entire semester without pay 2. Actual student teaching in exotic locations like D.C. or Houston (that's way more exotic than Utah, trust me) 3. A teaching internship, in your own classroom, for an entire year, earning 1/2 salary I've wanted to do a teaching internship ever since I heard about it. Yesterday I accepted an internship position at a Middle School about thirty minutes away from where Rob and I live. I did my practicum (a 6 week teaching experience) at the school and loved it. The teacher I worked with loved me too and raved about me to his principal. Because they wanted me so badly they sped up their hiring process and cut out their typical practice of having interns come in and teach in front of a classroom to see who they like better.  I'm feel...

New Most Embarrassing Moment

Tonight Rob was warming up for his hockey game, so I was home alone. I heard a loud knock at the door, and looked through the peephole to see who it was. I didn't recognize the man, so I just stood there silently and realized that my door wasn't locked. He'd know I was home if he heard me lock the door (which obviously would be horrible). So obviously I just left it unlocked. After he rang the doorbell to no answer, he opened my door. I was pretty proud of how quickly I was able to slam the door shut and turn the deadbolt. I started thinking of the things in the room that would double as a weapon, but then I heard him call out, "It's the maintenance guy." Whoops. At least we'll get a working furnace out of the ordeal.

Today I was Responsible

Went to class, didn't text during a single one. Ate leftovers for lunch with the Mister. Went to my work meeting, and told too many jokes (I'll take 1/2 credit). Finished my resume so I can apply for teaching internships.  What has marriage done to me?
