Something Unforgettable

UNFORGETTABLE

Lastly, when turning 28, I started a 30-in-30 list. 30 things I need to do before turning 30. One of those things was to do something unforgettable. While some of the fam was here that happened! I RODE AN ELEPHANT!!!!! I rode with my niece Sarah and halfway through, she said "I'm done." No Sear-bear we're not done yet. But it was SOOOO much fun. I think I want to ride one across the safari now, or maybe in Thailand. We'll see what happens.

It's been a LONG time continued...

So next the Pikulas came and I had someone to swim in the pool with me again! Then SURPRISE the Gholsons came too!!!!!! So yes that's 10 people in our house all at the same time for a week. It was alot of craziness, but also ALOT of fun! We went swimming, went to the Natural Bridge, and just enjoyed each other's company which we don't get to do alot. Here are a few pictures to show all the fun that was had.

It's been a LONG time!

I know I haven't updated in a while but I have just had such a great summer so far, I was TOLD many times I NEED to update. So here it goes. First the Saxtons came to visit to kick off the summer with a Memorial Day party and Tucker's 1st bday. I was there for the birth and there for the first and hoping to be there for all the rest!!!!
He's getting SOOO BIG!!!!

It was about time!

What was it about time for you say?! A HAIR CUT! Maybe you haven't seen me recently, but it was getting a little out of hand. It was kind of a mop. I never really like to admit it, but it with it so thick, it just gets a little crazy. Not to mention it was in the 90s today to I needed it to say the least. Below is a before and an after picture. Let me know what you think. These are the fun times for now, 'til next time!
BEFORE....

AND AFTER...........

People are so funny!

No picture with this post but just a funny note. I love to people watch. Recently, we went to Washington D.C and did a little sightseeing. I was on the Metro, one of my favorite places to people watch, and we noticed a hilarious family. They were kind of sitting separately, but from their convo we knew they were brothers and sisters. The loudest girl, was I'm sure the youngest and was trying to impress her out of town family with her "D.C knowledge" which wasn't very impressive. Her brother and her mom were just hanging on every word and what I assumed was her sister-in-law and stuck with all the kids, was just kind of rolling her eyes ignoring her just here to have a fun vacation, not really trying to be impressed or impressive (good for her I say). Anyway, I just think people are so funny and love to notice little things like that wherever I am. Take note next time wherever you may be, in the grocery store, the metro or the next best place, the AIRPORT!! In the airport, people are pretty frazzled and it's hilarious. That's the good times for now. 'Til next time!

New Year's resolutions in full force...

One of my new year's resolutions for 2010 is to do more service. A few movies recently have kind of effected my outlook on life, leading to this new year's resolution. The first, is an oldie but one of my favorites, Cinderella. While watching that movie recently, I realized if you have a positive outlook and make a bad situation good, ultimately you can make happen things you never imagined for yourself. The second, The Blind Side, still in theatres by the way so go check it out if you can. This helped me on the way to my new year's resolution, by teaching me once again, if you have something that someone else needs, and you can spare it; then you should. The last being Seven Pounds, if you haven't seen it, do. It's really good. It is all about sacrifice. This movie most effected the most recent act of service that Mom and I embarked on... We registered ourselves on the Bone Marrow donor list. This also goes on my life goal list of helping contribute to the cure for cancer (kind of, as a scientist, eventually I hope to contribute a lot more than that but c'est la vie.)

This is a photo of us using the cotton swab for the tissue sample to see what kind of match we are. If anyone would like to get registered just let me know, and I can send you the website.
