Master Crafter

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today I would like to share with you my project entry for the Master Crafter contest over at PinkCricut.com.

PinkCricut had 100 packages of goodies up for grabs a while back and is holding a contest to see who is the Master Crafter.  There are lots of prizes up for grabs in addition to the title "Master Crafter"!

Each package contained the following:

Scissor Mouse sponsored by Westcott , DCWV Rockstar mat stack sponsored by DCWV Deals, Cotton Bag Sponsored by State line Bag Co. , 1/2 sheet of Rhinestones sponsored by Queen & Co., Sentiment stamp sponsored by Pink by Design, Assorted Buttons.

Participants were asked to incorporate as much from their goodies as they could in creating their project.

Here is my project:

I made a Tooth Fairy Wall Hanging with tooth bag.

I used everthing that was sent to me, except I added an extra button and the PbD sentiment.  The packages were stuffed pretty full and mine was missing a couple of tiny pieces.

I started with a 5x7 photo frame that I spray painted black and then added some shimmer and sparkle using Glimmer Mists (Silver, Diamonds, Gumdrop).

Since my gems were lime green, I chose a green patterned paper from the stack as my background.  I used the Scissor Mouse to trim two edges.  It a pretty cool tool, but takes a bit getting used to.  I'll definitely be playing with this more.

I added a couple of the gems to the background as the center of the flowers.

I stamped/embossed the sentiment from the PbD Tooth Fairy set onto cardstock, cut it out with a Spellbinder, inked the edges, and added some bling.

I then stamped out the "tooth fairy tooth" from the same set and added some stickled to the wings.

For the tooth bag, I took the canvas bag and sprayed it with Granite, Gumdrop, and Diamonds Glimmer Mists.  Then I stamped the Tooth Fairy Seal onto it using black dye ink.  I added a ribbon to the bottom edge, and some twine tied buttons.

I plan to hang this up in my youngest roomfor her use when she starts to lose her teeth.

Voting for the Master Crafter begins on 10/7 at 12:01 CST.  Here is the link to stop by and vote for me :)

SBS 13 Days of Halloween - Day 1

Hello Crafty Friends!

If you've been following me for awhile, then you might have noticed that I am a huge fan of Simply Betty Stamps!  And it's that time of year again when SBS celebrates the 13 days of Halloween.  The SBS Challenge Blog is posting a new challenge every 2-3 days.  I've got a ton of her digis and stamps so I hope I'm able to keep up with each challenge.

The Day 1 challenge is to create a Trick or Treat for a Tot (anything for a child).

For my project, I made a candy stick.  They are super simple to make and can be filled with a variety of sweets, or even pencils.  I filled mine with gum balls.

Supplies:
SBS "Lola Addams", colored with Copics
circle punch
scallop circle punch
1x8 inch clear candy bag (can be purchased at www.bellacreationz.com)
Halloween Timeless Twine

Until Day 2.....

SBS Secret Pumpkin Exchange

Happy Monday Carfty Friends!

Can you believe that it's already October?!  It's almost time for Halloween :)

Welcome to the Secret Pumpkin Exchange!

You should have come from Leslie's blog, but if not, be sure to start at the Simply Betty Stamps blog.  This was a different kind of exchange since it was totally secret.  And we haven't shared who our Buddy was until this hop :)

Here is what my Buddy, Lynn Macias, sent me.

The card she sent me is gorgeous!

Lots of sweets!

Decorations and fun socks!  My youngest already claimed the spider headband and pencils :)

Kitchen goodies and cappuccion mixes!

Crafty Goodies :)

And she sent me a hand made mini-album.  Lots of fun pages to add pics and tags to document memories.  I love it!

Didn't she send me some great stuff?!  My kids have already claimed parts of it :)

Thanks Lynn!!!

SBS Monster Mash Blog Hop

Happy Friday!

Welcome to the Simply Betty Stamps Monster Mash blog hop. We're going to get down and boogie with the Boo-gies!

You should have hopped on over from Ginger's blog. If not, be sure to start at the Simply Betty Stamps Blog.

For my project I used the recently released "Jude & The Rockers Halloween" digis. I couldn't decide which one I wanted to use, so I used them all! :)

Supplies:
I colored each digi using Copics, and then cut out each using Spellbinders Circle dies
Rosettes are made using papers from the DCWV "Bewitched" stack
Black wreath, ghost garland, and glitter picks are from Michael's

It was a little hard to take picture of, and now I realize that it hangs a bit crooked. I'll fix it before I hang it up at Halloween. (I've got plenty of time to make adjustments before it's time to decorate!)

Your next stop on the hop is Rachel's blog. http://rachelspaperwishes.blogspot.com/

I hope you enjoyed my project, and Thanks for stopping by!

You Are Handsome

Happy Wednesday!

Today is my day to share over at the Timelss Twine blog.

It seems that masculine cards are always the hardest for me to make. So when I find some great papers, I make a few to keep on hand.

Here is one that would work great for a Birthday or Father's Day.

Supplies:
Cardstock is from a My Mids Eye Boy stack (Sorry, I don't know the exact name)
Sentiment is from Pink By Design's "Bracketfull" set
Timeless Twine Olive Green/White

Twine adds just the perfect finishing touch and is perfect for both feminine and masculine cards.

Let's Patch Things Up

Happy Saturday Crafty Friends!

Today is my Designer day over at Pink By Design, and I'm sharing a a quick card I mad using some washi tape and one of the 'Half Pints' sets, "Pocket Full".

Do you pin? I find it not only addicting, but also inspiring!

I've had some washi tape for a while now, but was never quite sure what to do with it. Then I saw a cute card one night while "pinning" and thought I could give it a try.

Now, this was a bit hard for me because I like everything to be cut crisp and straight. (It's a problem, I know) So I was really crafting 'outside my box' when I tore the tapes. And I had to just lay them down without following any pattern. But did you notice that I tried to lay them down straight and perpendicular to the edges, with even spacing between? :)

Supplies:

Cardstock

Washi tape in 3 colors/patterns, torn and randomly laid down

PbD "Pocket Full" sentiment

Sticky pink gems

I love these new mini sets! You get the same quality stamps, both images and sentiments, but at a lower price point!

Here is a link to the card I found and used as inspiration, http://pinterest.com/pin/274930752223059935/

I really like how it turned out! And I love that washi tapes are repositionable! It makes it easier to play with :)
