You Had Me At Craft - Guest Designer Lala Palooza

Happy Friday Crafty Friends!

I'm so excited to be a Lala Palooza Guest Designer todayover at You Had Me At Craft! I want to give a huge THANK YOU to Alex for inviting me to share on her blog!

Today I'd like to share a non-paper craft project with you. I love my paper, stamps, and Cricut, but before I started paper crafting I learned how to sew and crochet.

I came across a really cute shop on etsy and through Facebook that sells crocheted beanies, headbands, and hat patterns. Her site is snappy-tots.com, and her page is Snappy Tots on Facebook.

Here is some of the projects that I've been making.

Fingerless Mittens
Mouse Beanie Bands
Flower Head Bands
Boarder Beanies

Aren't these the cutest?! My kids have all gotten beanies and I've been working on Christmas gifts as well.

If you crochet, you should stop by Snappy Tots on Facebook and check out all her cute patterns. Be sure to say "Hi" and tell her that I sent you!

If you're interested in ordering a beanie, beanie band, head band, or fingerless mittens, leave me a message with your email and I'll contact you. I have sizes from baby to adult. I also have a few other styles available.

Thanks for stopping by!

Blessed at 60 Birthday & Blogiversary Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome Crafty Friends to Day 2 of the Blessed at 60 Birthday and Blogiversary Blog Hop!

If you've hopped over from Carla's blog, then you're in the right place. But, if you're just visiting my blog and would like to start at the beginning, then hop on over to Kathie's blog.

For today's project, Kathie (our hostess and Birthday Girl) asked us to make something that had to do with a cancer, since she is a kidney cancer survivior.

Kathie asked each of us to chose a particular cancer to honor/celebrate, and she even found out all the different colors that each cancer/group is represented by.

For my project I chose the honor my Grandma Ruby who passed away from colon cancer. The color that represents colon cancer is dark blue.

Here is my project:

I made a picture frame and as soon as I get a picture of my Grandma, I will be adding it. I wanted it to have a vintagey look and be accented with dark blue. I added her name, and a few sayings that remind me of her. My Grandma was crafty (that's where I get it from) and she sewed alot, so the buttons are for her sewing.

Details:
* Cardstock is Recollections
* Patterned paper is from the DCWV "At Home" stack
* 'Ribbon' is cut at 4" using "Stand and Salute" cartrdige, embossed with the "Texture" Cuttlebug embossing folder
* 'Ruby' is cut using the "Lyrical Letters" cartridge, and I welded the letters together using my Gypsy
* Tim Holtz "Tea Dye" Distress Ink was used to ink all the edges.
* Sentiments are from Pink By Design "Material Girl", "Just Breathe", and "All in the Family" sets, stamped using the Tim Holtz Distress Ink
* Sentiment punch is from eKSuccess
* Small oval punch is from Stampin Up
* Ribbon
* Buttons tied w/ cream embroidery floss

Kathie is also having a huge Gypsy give-away on her blog in celebration of her birthday/blogiversary/celebration. Click here to read all the details and enter to win.

Lil Devil

Hello and Happy Monday Crafty Friends!

If you're looking for my Halloween Blog Hop post, click here.

Today I'd like to share with you my very first card I created using my new Gypsy.

I also made this to enter in the Throwback Thursday challenge with Emma over at My Creative Time. The challenge is to use an older cartridge with a "card feature" and create a Halloween themed card.

I'm also entering this in Meljen's Designs Challenge #80, which is to use a ribbon.

Here is my card:

Details:
* Wild Card cartridge for he card base. I use my Gyspy to stretch the card into a circle shape (it was a skinny oval)
* Carstock is from my stash
* The Greeting Farm digi "Halloween Shedevil" colored using Prismacolor pencils
* Pink By Design sentiment from the SOM "Guess Who" set, embossed in white
* Wite gel pen for the stitching
* Black Diamond Stickles
* Ribbon

I've been having lots of fun playing with my Gypsy and I've already created a few cards. I've been using Design Studio for awhile, but now I see what all the fuss over this Gypsy is about. I love it!

Emma's challenge is open through Wed, Oct 19th if you'd like to enter.

Scrappin Chics Challenge - October Project #2

Welcome Back Crafty Friends!

If you're looking for my Halloween Blog Hop post, click here.

This month with the Scrappin Chics, our challenge is to create a Halloween project using the colors purple and green. I love this color combination!

I am in love with digital stamps right now! I love that I can print them (any size I want) and color them ahead of time. But you know what the best part is? They are cheaper than rubber stamps and I don't have to find a place to store them in my craft space!

Here is my project:

Details:
* Patterned paper is Recollections "Bright Prints" stack
* Spellbinders Ovals and Scalloped Ovals
* Simply Betty Stamps digi "Witchy Wednessday" colored with Prismacolor pencils
* Stickles for her lips, shoes, band on her hat, and the cat's eyes
* Pink By Design sentiment from the "Ghostly Greetings" set
* Black tulle (loving this in place of traditional ribbon!)

Be sure to head on over to the Scrappin Chics Challenge blog and enter your project.

Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Blog Hop

Happy Saturday Crafty Friends and Welcome to the Halloween Blog Hop hosted by Anglea at Creative Crafting.

If you just happend upon my blog today, then make sure you head on over to Angela's blog and start from the begining.

If you are here from Katie's blog, then you're on the right path.

Today I'd like to share with you a Halloween card using not-so-Halloween colors.

As soon as I saw this image I knew I wanted to color her in pinks. I've just recetnly started playing with digis, and I'm loving them! Simply Betty Stamps are one of my favorites, and you can find them here.

Details:
* Cardstock and papers are from my stash (I can't remember who makes them)
* Image is "Skellington Betty" digi from Simply Betty Stamps, colored with Prismacolor pencils.
* Stickles to add a bit of bling to her lips, tennies, skulls on dress and earrings, and the eyes on her hat.
* MS edge punch (I can't remember the name, sorry)
* Satin ribbon
* Black gems using i-Rock.

Next up along the hop is Julie.

Just Fabulous

Happy Saturday Crafty Friends!

Today is my day to post on the Pink By Design blog!

Here is my card that I created using a PBD background, image, and sentiment stamp.

Details:
* Finished card is 3 1/4 x 6 1/2 inches.
* Paint chip, cut off the side with the names. I used the Behr brand because there is plenty of room to stamp on once you cut off the paint names. I matted this with black cardstock.
* Stamp the PBD "Sewing" background stamp using black ink. I used Staz-on and allowed it to dry completely (a heat gun also helps to
speed up this step, just not too close or the paint chip can bend).
* Stamp the dress form from the PBD "Sew Lovely" image set, and allow to dry.
* For the sentiment I used an ekSuccess punch and stamped "Just Fabulous" from the PBD " Material Girl" sentiement set.
* The final touch was adding gems using my i-Rock (a must-have for bling lovers!).

I hope you get a chance to stop by the hardware store and pick up some paint chips and give this a try. I've got a stack of them to make some more, and the best part is that they are free!

Thanks for stopping by!
