Happy Halloween!!

This year we missed our Trunk-or-Treat at the Church, so we decided to throw our own little Halloween party here at home with our awesome friends Ashley and Apollo!  They are moving to Germany in January (sad!!), so we are trying to cram in lots of time together with themed parties and holidays as much as possible before they go.  We did a ton of different Halloween party games, but I just documented a few!

Giant Balloon Spider!

Our Table!

 Our little superhero family :)

Moment of truth with the dry ice...this was the first time Ashley and I have ever dealt with this stuff, so we weren't sure how exactly it reacts! We were pouring in our homemade root beer!

"It's working.."

"Ahh! I can't tell how full it is of liquid!"

Success and no spills!

He was mesmerized!

Spooky Table!

Spook Burgers!  This was the first time that anyone had done these Spook Burgers...so I was the judge.  It was fun to see their creativity come out!  Apollo won with this Elephant inspired one!

Jaden's!

Cory's...

And of course, Ashley's cute one!  She really should've won, but Apollo's had me laughing from the moment I saw it...It just caught me off guard I think!

Our Eyeball Root Beer Martini's!

Ashley was so cute!  She made up this huge little halloween scavenger hunt for Jaden.  He LOVED it!

Witch shoes were left behind on the balcony!

Looking for the next clue/mini prize where the "vampire slumbers".

Vampire teeth!

I love this reaction when he found the treasure!

Bobbing for Apples!  We just let the boys take over this game...It was more fun to watch them anyway :).  We also put a little piece of dry ice in the bottom of the bowl to make it more difficult and add some spookiness to it,

Jaden went first...He was super excited, and of course used some goggles for eye protection :).  We cut an apple in half so it'd be easier for him to get a grip on it with his little mouth.

He tried a couple of times to grab one...

Then he came up with a full sized apple with its stem between his teeth.. haha smart cookie!

Then the husbands went for it! This was Apollo's first time ever bobbing for apples...So Apollo went first..

Then the winner next! ;)

Before we put Jaden to bed, we took a group picture--  One was a "character" picture...

then a regular one!

Unforgettable party you guys!  Love you!!

San Diego: Part 3

On one of our last days in San Diego, we hit up the Safari Park!  More animals and more fun!

Watching the bird demonstration...Jaden loved seeing the bird do little tricks.

Check out those feet...I've never seen anything like them!

This snake really wanted to eat something outside of his cage...He was eye-ing something.
Eek!

And then there was this Armadillo...haha poor little guy.  He would not stop doing this for as long as we were standing there.

They had a fun little petting zoo area with nothing but goats.  It was still really fun (and clean!), and Jaden loved brushing them and felt like he was helping.

Feeding the goats with leaves that were already on the ground.  We weren't sure if we were supposed to feed them those, but we did, and they seemed to like it! hehe His little fingers :)

Waiting for the bird show to start.  This was really fun, and Jaden loved watching the birds fly right over us.  You probably wouldn't think so, but birds are actually pretty smart!

These little guys were called "The Three Stooges".  The music that went along with them running in and out of little trap doors totally fit them!

Safari Time!!

I love baby elephants!

The last thing we did at the Park was the cheetah run!  What a cool thing to experience!  We were able to get a video of her running, but we started it a little late, because she bolted out of her cage so fast!

We were able to freeze some frames from the video...these turned out kinda cool.

After her run, they walked her down the track, but she had to have her best friend (which happens to be an old dog) walk with her.  They said he keeps her calm so she doesn't get nervous and helps her to feel secure.  Pretty cute huh?

San Diego was such an amazing trip! We are so grateful for the chance to have gone down there and spend some good, fun, quality time with my parents.  I love you so much, Mom and Dad.
