Well, we made it to Hawaii! We have been here for about a month or so, and are still trying to find our place. Now that Cory is an Instructor Pilot, he started officially working this past week. He is VERY busy but seems to be enjoying it. I don't think he'll really ever get bored here. He is expected to go to Malaysia and Japan in the beginning of September. I'm excited for him and he's really thrilled about it! This place is definitely going to bring with it some new challenges and new adventures for the both of us!
The kids were fantastic on the trip over here. Jaden was kept busy with little wrapped gifts I had for him, movies, DS games, and other fun activities. Jenna nursed and slept. When she wasn't sleeping she was as happy as could be! I am so grateful for that! I was nervous, but they both did great. It was a VERY long trip, and they just started adjusting to the time change with their sleeping in the mornings. Hallelujah! They are definitely early risers, but they are at least sleeping past 5am!
We made it to the hotel....we were all SOO exhausted!
Ready for her first day out on the island!
The base! Schofield Barracks...
Our new home for the next 3 years!...not much to look at from the outside...so we have some work to do, but it's a house, and we will make it into our home, once our stuff gets here!...which will be in the next few days!
Out and about.
We were waiting in the car for Cory, and I look back from looking at my phone and Jaden had gotten Jenna out of her carseat and put her in his booster seat to play with her easier. haha. He loves his little sister!
After a couple of long weeks, we finally got our Max!! What a journey he had, poor dog. He made it!! It took him a day to adjust to his new surroundings and to us again, but he is his old fantastic self again!
Jaden lost his first tooth in the new house! He lost it biting lego pieces apart. He was surprised and so were we! The Tooth Fairy came to visit, and we caught her in action!
Within the first few weeks of us being here, my dad happened to have one last business trip to Hawaii. I was so happy!! He was just what I needed, and it was so much fun to spend the evening at dinner and on the beach to see fireworks. Jaden had the best time, talking his ear off, and Jenna was loving having Papa hold her. She didn't mind one bit!
We were worried that Jenna might be afraid of the fireworks, but she couldn't take her eyes off of them. She was watching them like this the whole time!
Papa and Jaden!
Playing with some new Legos from Papa and enjoying having some of his toys around from the Express shipment.
Cool tree.
Little Diva.
Relaxing and reading!
We went to the Polynesian Cultural Center a couple of weeks ago. I've been a few times, but this was Cory's and Jaden's first time and we were able to do the Luau AND the night show after walking through a few of the villages! It was a great time! We will go back, because there is just so much to see, and we weren't able to get to it all.
At the Beach!
The gang packed into the Subaru!
Happy girl!
Walkin' around Costco in her new little seat cover!
One morning we decided to go hike up to Diamond Head. It's beautiful, and Cory has never done it, so we went up there and had a great time. Jaden loved it. He's my little hiker!
Made it to the top of Diamond Head! Gorgeous view.
We did another hike along the coast, Ka'ena Point. Towards the beginning of the hike, we were able to see a Monk Seal! What a treat! I was SO excited to see this seal swim towards the rocks and wiggle his way over them. These animals that the most adorable faces and are just beautiful. I have never seen an ocean mammal in it's natural environment, and being that these animal are endangered, there aren't very many of them! We didn't have the camera with us, so this was taken with one of our phones, so the quality isn't great, unfortunately. But you can still make it out in the water!
The trail was really rocky and uneven, and I was tripping ALL over the place...to the point it got frustrating and hilarious at the same time! Anyway, Jaden inherited his clumsiness from me, and fell pretty good...and he didn't have a shirt on, either. Poor baby!
After napping in the backpack, Jenna woke up happy as can be!
Even with the breeze from the water, it was pretty hot that day.
Cory's Battalion had an Organizational Day. Each company had little hands-on demonstrations for the kids to do and bouncy houses, and all kinds of fun stuff! Here are a few pictures from that.
We recently went on another beautiful hike to the Makapu'u Lighthouse! It was just gorgeous and EXTREMELY windy (you'll see!). I love lighthouses, and this one was just fun to get to.
Pretty flowers!
The wind.
Would not.
Stop.
Snug as a bug..
Little lion!

Jenna can fit into a couple of outfits that I had when I was her age! It was so fun putting her in a few of them. I love having this little girl!

Once we made it back down, we treated ourselves to some shaved ice at the bottom... Yummy.
