festival of colors

i missed out on the fun. =(
I was looking forward to going to the Festival of Colors at the Hare Krishna temple on Saturday night. It just didn't end up happening. I was upset at first, but hopefully I'll plan better next year and be able to go (if I'm here in Utah). If not, I will have to see if there are any Hare Krishna temples anywhere near and take part in the festivities.

by the way, the powder is made in bright colors and fragrances that is thrown around. Here is another picture of the people who enjoyed last year's festivities:

Also, I don't know these people. But this is what I would have looked like had I gone this year. =(

bs in april

Ok, well it's final. One less stressful thing on my previous list!

I am graduating. For sure. In April.

It was a bit questionable before. Reason being:

Not horrible/not great GPA + not horrible/not great GRE score = Not sure if I'm getting into grad school.

Hence, the idea of postponing graduation until December at which point I could retake some classes to boost my GPA and reapply to grad schools. However, this is no longer a possibility because I found out that I can only postpone graduation until August. And none of the classes I need to retake are given Spring/Summer, so there is absolutely no point in postponing my receiving of the diploma stating that I am finally a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders.--Not that this diploma helps me at all until I get a Master's, but thankfully, it's a step closer in the right direction.

Ultimately though, I have to admit that the real factor in my happiness about graduating in April is that my whole family will be there! If I had graduated either in August or December instead of April, my parents would basically have been the only attendees---and although this is a good thing, I would have been jealous that I COULD have graduated in April, when my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins could have ALL been present (and will be, because Sarah is also graduating in April).

Yay! I'm so close to being a part of BYU Alumni!

update

It's been quite a while since my last post. I've been "enjoying" the stresses of my life, namely:

1. Grad school admission
-I was rejected from University of Hawaii (I know, I know. Sad day).
-I was accepted as an alternate to Washington State University (I'm waiting for an email from the Graduate Counselor who will let me know what alternate number I am).
-I'm still waiting on Utah State University.

2. Finances/Insurance
-Who isn't stressed about finances?
-Car insurance. I hate AAA. Nothing more needs to be said on this matter.

3. Cell phones
-For the 6th time in 2 years, I need to change phones/services. I've always been spoiled by my father with a company phone--hence, I have never complained about switching from Verizon to Sprint and back to Verizon and having new phones (I'm thankful for free things!). That spoiling has now ended and I need to find a new phone service which I will now pay for myself like any independent adult. You'd think I'd be happy about the independent part!

4. Work
-It seems to be busier than normal, which is technically a good thing. But... you know.

5. Tests
-Stressed about getting good grades. I keep doing it, but the stress just doesn't go away.

6. Graduation
-You'd think this would be an exciting time. But I'm just worried because I don't really know if I'm graduating in April or not. Depending on what happens with grad school and what I decide, I may not graduate in April. I may postpone it. So that is confusing.

7. The Bachelor
-Yes. I got stressed out by a TV show. Haha, not in the way you think. But I'm so mad at Jason for being the typical jerk and dumping his fiancee and then going out with the other girl literally 5 minutes later. LAAAME. Lost all faith in mankind. (Ok.. that was overly dramatic and untrue. I just am so disappointed in Jason--whom I thought was a genuinely good guy. Turns out I was wrong).

But besides the stresses, I have continued to actually enjoy life:

-I visited old friends from Raintree last week and had a blast. (It also made me realize that I haven't tried very hard this semester to make friends in my ward.. I need to be better).
-I had dinner with Sarah last week. We try to do this weekly and always end up having fun and laughing a lot. (By the way, the dinner was seriously gourmet).
-My cousin Melissa Lambert came to visit me and other Ogles Family members this weekend (She has a spring break up at USU--unlike BYU who deprives their student of that one necessary indulgence). I spent a lot of time at my Grandma's hanging with the family.
-I got a Spiff at work (which is basically $20 for staying a half hour later than closing time in addition to the regular pay). Doesn't happen very often, but when it does, woohoo!
-My roommates, Ash and Sami, and I went to Yozone. I recommend it. --Also enjoyed running into Chad while we were there.
-My cousin Jackie Bodily had her Sophomore piano recital (She's a piano performance major at BYU). It was absolutely amaaaaazing. I was blown away. It was an hour long and every minute of it I was mesmerized.--Even my five yr old cousin sat still for an hour. It was THAT good!

Well anyways, needless to say, I've been busy.
