Currently, I am watching a new Singaporean drama 当我们同在一起. I just finished the first two episodes. Do I like it? So far, it is OK lor. But the nicest thing is, is that I can ask my mom about her childhood years by watching this drama.

My mom does not like watching Singaporean dramas, since she said it is simply not interesting. She always and only watches the Hong Kong ones, which I used to like them. However, I have not watched any of them for years and years, since I think all the Hong Kong dramas have the same setup up that bores even more than the Singapore ones. I did not usually watch Singapore dramas. I only watch the ones where many important VIPs are involved. 当我们同在一起 is one of the annual (2009) dramas where many high classes were involved.

I like to see dramas which their stories are telling about our past. I think we can learn alot from these dramas. Also, I want to know how my parents got through those hard life. My mom said that when I was born, cars were very rare.

In the 当我们同在一起, you can see a huge change in many things in our today's life. The first thing is that a house is shared with 4 or more different families. Today, it is impossible and also not common that the eldest son live with his parents. And that are only max. two family members. Besides, they are family, while in the past, one house is shared with many other families.

In 当我们同在一起, you can see that one of the mainperson makes up his mind for starting his own business. Since he thinks that learning what he father and runnig his selling-clothes-business, cannot give him enough money to have a healthy life. He wants to get opportunity to work outside his town to earn bigger money than his father does. Nowadays, I see many hard working people, since they believe that hardworking people will have a good career and a steady job. Once there is crisis, no matter how hard you work, within one flash you lost your job. All people are trained to be a good (hard) worker. If you study hard you will get a better mark. If you work hard, you will easier get promotion. That is what it is embedded in our mind. Like, in 当我们同在一起, his father wants him to learn of his tailoring skill and get a steady life. If he follows his advice, his life will be even hard as his father. So, what is the deal to get out of this trap? That answer to this question changes over time...I whish I can share or tell. But I really do not know.

Recently, I am asked by many models and MUAs for shootings. All of them are free-shoot basis. That means, they let me shoot them without they pay me nor I pay them. They saw my recent shots of extreme make-ups. I spend 150euro on two photos for a High-End retouching. He is really a pro with high level retouching skill plus he has eyes and understand the details. The 150euro give me oppotunities to get know more people recognized and valued my works. I think, that is the way I should do.

Those who are curious about the photos, do find out which two photos are retouched by the pro. I invite you to go to www.KarFeeTangPhotography.com

I didn't update my blog for a month, since I did have access to the internet when I stayed in Rotterdam. Ya, I haven't been to home for a month, since my weekends are booked by my friends, business and other activities.

Where should I start with blogging? Hhhmmm, let me share with you about my first business event. I attened a workshop about sales that is organised by the Dutch bank Rabobank. It was an interesting workshop, but there is nothing that I can learn, since many things are so straight-to-their-way. There is one very important thing I learned from workshops that are organised for business people: it is about networking! During and after the workshop all business people are put together and you can get know many of your potential clients for starting business. Do I grab one? Not yet! But I keep contact them and so do they! In case they give me order, I know they will become my clients forever. :)

I like runing business myself, although photography is and was my hobby. I like the things that keep me thinking and keep me busy. There are so many things I can learn even though it is just a small business. I believe that my whole life is just a learning phase that never reaches the end.

Days after the workshop Aletta called me up and ask me a favor. She asked me to install Photoshop for her and teach her the basic retouching technique. The day that we should meet, she cancelled our appointment, since she felt very bad. I didn't what happened to her, since she didn't (wanna) tell me. I did ask her, but she is a person who keeps her things with her. Like how I am and/or was. Now I become a more open person.

The week after the Rabobank's workshop, I went to another one. But this time, it is organised by other institute. Not a banker or a company, it is just an institute. The title of the workshop is about "Help me to get through the crisis!". The workshop itself is funny. But again, I was there for getting know more potential clients. That time, I brought Ashley with me. But, she wanted to leave very soon after the workshop. So, I did not have time to get know more people. Again, I learned one thing: the best is to go to workshop alone. Since you can decide yourself when and why you want to leave.

That weekend, I have a commercial shoot. The shooting was horrible, since my client wanted to change the concept last minute. He asks me to do impossible job. The results are also not my cup of tea. The week before the shooting, I went to the company to give him the software that was custom-made by my team and to talk about the shooting. The boss seems not be happy with the way of how I work, since he thinks that paying me money for shooting means that he has the full copyright. I hate doing business with China people.

At Sunday, I went to Ashley's home. Her mom asks me to do her a favor. She asks me to install and setup the Hi-Fi for her. So, at Sunday, Ashley, her sister Ann, Ashley's boyfriend and me were driving to Roosendal where her mom lives.

The next weekend, I went to ice-skating with my friends. We celebrated our 9th year gathering. I think that this was our last gathering, since Lili is married and Hoiwan's marriage is next year. They will start their own home very soon and therefore, it is hard to meet up again...
