Jurgensmeier Christmas Party
The Saturday after Thanksgiving, we all headed down to Ogden from Rupert to go to the annual Jurgensmeier Christmas Party. There was a delicious potato bar, salads, plenty of desserts and tons of family. Our cousin Sabrina has the cutest twin girls, Stella and Scarlet, and we were lucky to hold and play with them during the party. They are so cute and happy!
After everyone was done eating, they pulled out the sumo suits. Earlier, they gave us tickets and whatever two tickets they pulled out, those two would fight. Bryce and Kevin were paired up first. They went and put on their sumo suits, and Kev walked out with his suit on backwards and a few second later Bryce walked out with his suit on backwards as well haha silly boys. The sumo suit only went to his knees as well, adding to the hilariousness.
Once they got their suits figured out, the fight began.
Here's a video of the third round of their fight... as you can tell, Kev wasted Bryce no problem. :)
I naturally took on the biggest and toughest opponent at the party.... Kevin. The first two rounds were disastrous but I figured out a little strategy for the last round and came out on top. Here is is... Push as hard as you can against the big man, run away fast, and bam he falls to the ground and you jump on top.
Josh and our cousin Nate were picked to fight each other. Josh thought he could just run at Nate and push him out of the circle, but Nate moved and Josh couldn't stop. He not only ran out of the circle, but into the ring of chairs that surrounded it directly towards my mom and I. I was holding one of the twins but luckily we moved out of the way fast enough no one was hurt. Except probably Josh's pride ;)
None of this would be possible without this cute man. He's definitely one of the greatest men I know and is so kind and loving. Even though he's almost 100 years old and can't see very much anymore, he wouldn't miss a family reunion for the world. Its because of him that we get together as often as we do and I'm so grateful that he is my Grandpa!

Thanksgiving
This year we went to Rupert for Thanksgiving! It was so much fun and so wonderful to be with our family. We ate tons of good food...
Talked and laughed way too much with the cousins at the "kids table"...
Waved at the adults across the room
and chatted away with Grandpa and Grandma.
After dinner all the boys fell asleep faster than you could say "tryptophan"
Meanwhile, us girls looked through old yearbooks of Grandpa and Grandma's high school years. In Grandma's senior yearbook, each person had a word or phrase that described them underneath their picture. Grandma's was "nice to know" which is definitely true and way better than the guy who was labeled "girl hater".
Isn't Grandpa a handsome high school sophomore?
Then we headed back to our house to shoot some pumpkins and clay pigeons.
Obviously, we played tons of games- hand & foot, dominos, crown five, and even a little poker.
On Friday, Dad, Josh and I headed to town to get our Dr Pepper fix (and forgot to get milk, the real purpose of our trip to town...whoops!) We also made Josh's week complete with a visit to Jack in the Box. He loves those $1 tacos... (siiick!)
This year, we have so very much to be grateful for and its hard to list everything, but here's a somewhat narrowed down list.... We're grateful for our wonderful families and the love that they show us and the new precious members that have joined our family and are on the way, we're grateful for friends who make us feel cool, we're grateful for the opportunity we have to live in a wonderful warm house, for Josh's business being more successful this year, and we are so very grateful for our membership in the church, that we're sealed together for eternity, and for Jesus Christ.
Hope ya'll had a Happy Thanksgiving!

some days...
I wonder what I'm even doing in college.
When I can make healthy smoothies, soft delicious cookies,
and dreamy dinners.
and my husband compliments me for hours.
maybe I should just embrace my hidden talent
(of following recipes)
and stop studying and worrying about tests and projects.
But then some days....
I know for a fact that I'm a really big nerd.
when my professor makes a nerdy joke...
and I'm the only one who understands it
{and laughs out loud}
while my classmates look at me with confused looks on their faces,
and my professor nods and smiles with glee,
happy that he's funny to someone.
But then other days...
I know I'm not a BIG nerd, just a little one.
Because without fail every single time one of my professors says,
"I will illustrate this concept with a cartoon"
I look up to see an actual cartoon, you know something like this...

But instead, its something like this.
Which is not at all a cartoon.
And is not at all funny.

weekend in Rupert
Last weekend we were able to go to Rupert to see these 2 cuties get married!
Whitney looked SO beautiful and Colton was so handsome. The cutest thing ever was when Whit walked into the room and Colton started crying when he saw her. So sweet. Their reception was so beautiful and she had so many great decorations and ideas. It was fun to see all our family that was there as well.
We were also lucky to have Linsy and the boys there as well. It was good to see Lins and fun playing with Tate and Beau all day Saturday. I miss Tate peeking in our bedroom in the morning to see if we're awake yet. :)
| side note: how awkward to my arms look? |
Dalton, Kevin's friend and Whitney's new brother-in-law, gave his farewell talk on Sunday as well. He talked about the Book of Mormon and his testimony of it. He is going to be a great missionary! It was a such a fun weekend seeing our family and hanging out at home.

fall fun
Josh and I have been loving the beautiful fall weather we've been having and took advantage of it the last couple weekends. We're definitely wishing and hoping this weather sticks around for a long time! We went camping last weekend and then went up again this weekend with our friends Cris and Jason for some shooting, 4 wheeling, and tin foil dinners. The mountains looked so beautiful with their changing leaves and the mountains had a tiny bit of snow. I just can't believe how amazing of a place we live in and I'm so grateful we can drive around and enjoy the awesome scenery. The pictures don't do it justice, but I tried. :)
dirty DASH
Bryce and Kevin and some of their friends did the Dirty Dash in Soldier Hollow a while ago. I had to take 3 tests that weekend, but I was able to go see them finish and hang out with Mom and Dad during and after the race. There are four words which described this race: dirty, gross, hilarious, and awesome. It was mostly awesome because of the costumes everyone wore to run it. However, Kevin and Craig (kev's friend) definitely had the best costumes for the day(suit coats, american flag speedos, and a tie) which are best described by those same four words that describe the race: dirty, gross, hilarious, and awesome. People everywhere had them stop "racing" and take pictures with them. Here are some pictures that I took of the day.
It was so fun to watch and everyone who did it seemed to LOVE it. I think it would be so fun to do next year!

Unfortunately, this is true.
I'd say the amount of info I take in is actually larger since I've done well on my tests so far, but the food part is true... bad deal. (diet starts monday! ha)
While I've been studying, testing, and eating away, Josh has been the model husband. Monday I came home after 11 hours on campus to a wonderful lasagna dinner and a clean kitchen. Today I came home to our bedroom clean, the bathrooms clean, all the garbage taken out and the laundry done. If there was a fabulous husband award, I'd have to say Josh has done very well this week :)
