Season's Greetings
Hi all! Another week closer to Christmas and I've been a busy little card maker- how about you? I love the Some Odd Girl portrait images because they are so universal, you can use them for pretty much anything- including Christmas cards! So that's just what I've done here with Demure- so pretty in classic colors of red and green. Not a color combo I use that much, even during the holidays, but it works perfectly here!
Now make sure that you hop on over to the Some Odd Girl shop to check out the digi bundles on sale this week- Demure can be found in one of them! And for more inspiration don't miss a stop at the Some Odd Girl blog too. Plus there's still time to share all those awesome SOG projects you've been working on with us in the December Linky party in the sidebar of the blog :)
As always, thanks so much for stopping by to visit me- I hope you've enjoyed my little make!

Some Odd Girl Trick or Treat Hop
We’d like to welcome you to Some Odd Girl‘s 2nd annual Trick or Treat Halloween Hop!
Thank you so much for joining us! All of the Odd Girls have concocted a creepy little creation to inspire you today, and you’re invited to visit each blog to see what’s been brewing! You might have arrived from Melissa’s blog – if so, you’re on the right track! If not, you’ll want to CLICK HERE to get things started, because you won’t want to miss a thing!
We’ll be sharing some of these pretties are the Some Odd Girl blog over the next few days, but TODAY, we kick things off! So you might be wondering what this Trick or Treat stuff is all about, yeah? Well, in addition to amazing papercrafty goodness you’ll see at each stop, you’ll get tricks along the way, too! Simple tips and tricks to little secrets we papercrafters have figured out that we want to share with you! That covers the Tricks.
And then there are TREATS!
As you hop, you’ll come across some Treats, located at random Odd Girls‘ blogs. We have some clear stamps, some Odds & Ends, some digi stamps and lots and lots of inspiration for you! AND, as if that wasn’t exciting already, we have a discount code for you!
Now for my little make for the hop- I love giving little goodie bags and boxes so that's what I created here using an oldie-but-a-goodie digi image called Pumpkins! My little trick is that if you're printing a digi directly onto a card base or project like I did here first print it on a regular piece of printer paper. Then just attach your base on top of the printer paper with some removable adhesive or washi tape- you'll get the perfect alignment every time :)
Be sure to leave a comment at each stop, and if YOU have any tricks you’d like to share, we’d love to hear them! There might just be a prize in it for one commenter who leaves us a trick! Okay. So have you got all that? Are you ready? Well allllll righty! LET’S HOP! Here’s your hop order:

And there you have it! We will hop now through October 31st at midnight Eastern, and our winners will be announced back here on the Some Odd Girl blog on Monday, November 3rd. Happy Haunting – I mean HOPPING! Your next stop is JoAnn!
And a very Happy Halloween from all of us at Some Odd Girl!

Some Odd Girl 'Digi Me' Contest
Hiya peeps! Guess what's going down over at Some Odd Girl? A hot new little contest with the chance to have your very own digi idea brought to life by Kristy!
Well, I couldn't wait to play along so let get started shall we?
First of all I've got to pick which character I'd like my image to be and I've got to go with Miss Kaylee for this entry because I love her cute quirky hair and feel like this could totally be her style :)
Second I get to share what exactly I'd like my image to look like so I hit up Pinterest and totally found some inspiration- I think Kaylee would look freakin' awesome as a cool rocker chick :)
Maybe a skull or two incorporated on the shirt or accessories (like a skull necklace perhaps!) And maybe even a pair of headphones around her neck because you know as a rocker chick she's got to keep her tunes close at all times :)
And then the final thing to guide Kristy in drawing the image is pose. Now this was a harder one for me but I think I'll go with something kind of like this...crossed legs and maybe the body turned slightly so it's a little more coy :)
Holy smokes, now this has been fun! I might not be able to hold myself back from doing another entry or two since there are 3 entries allowed via each platform. I sure hope you'll play along in designing something too- the possibilities are endless and I can't wait to see what ideas are floating out there for cool images!

Creative Blog Hop
Hiya all! Got something a little different for you today- one of my very favorite crafty peeps, the one-and-only Odd Girl herself, Kristy Dalman tagged me to participate in the Creative Blog Hop and I'm happy to participate! I was lucky enough to meet Kristy when she was crazy enough to offer me a spot on her design team for Some Odd Girl a couple years back and since then we've gotten to meet up twice in person to work CHA. I feel so blessed to call her a friend :)
Right! Now onto the very important questions part of the hop- away we go!
What am I working on now?
Currently I'm working on some design team stuff that I can't really show you just yet- but stay tuned cause it will be fun! I'm also filling some card orders- one of which is a baby shower card- full post to come soon :)
How does my work differ from others in my genre?
Hmmm, I mainly make cards although I like to alter things now and then as well. I love to color with my Copics and usually the images that I choose are the main focus of anything I'm doing. I love patterned paper and a decent amount of bling- there's definitely no denying that I'm a girly kinda girl, lol. I've been trying to push beyond my comfort zone more lately and try some different styles- I don't know that I'm always successful but I think it's good to push yourself. I'd also like to try my hand at full on scrapbooking but I gotta find the time first!

Why do I create what I do?
I kinda fell into card making accidentally after making a spur of the moment gift for someone. My uncle had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and my aunt was taking care of him at home. After a trip to visit, seeing the struggle she was going through, and feeling, to be honest, quite helpless I decided to make her a handmade quote book full of inspirational quotes. After searching online and gathering quotes I printed them in different fonts on pieces of paper, decorated them, and then inserted them into a 5x7 photo album. Now, knowing what I know of the craft world, it wasn't unlike a mini album or even a small project life type book but at the time I didn't really know what I was doing creatively I was just trying to make something special for her. But once I delivered the gift and saw what an impact something handmade could make I kind of got hooked. I felt completely overwhelmed by something like an entire scrapbook but a card was something made to be given away and a much easier task to wrap my brain around. So I started making cards, then started selling them, found out that there was a whole blog community and joined up, bought some Copics, and the rest, as they say, is history :)
How does my creative process work?
To be honest- my creative process is not set in stone and I think that's partly 'it' works! Sometimes I start coloring an image before I pick papers; sometimes I color to match specifically what I'm going to use. Sometimes I'll have an idea already in my mind of exactly how I want a particular card to look- there's no real thinking behind it- it's just kind of there in my minds eye so to speak. Other times I have absolutely no idea where I'm going so I just start pulling out paper, embellishments- anything I think I might want to use and set them on my desk and start messing around placing things here and there. Because of this my workspace is usually a complete disaster- but I find if everything is put away then I hit a mental block and all my mojo goes away.
I think my creative process is reflection of how I like to live my life- I'm not super big on planning and like to be spontanious. I do my best work when I'm under the gun of a deadline and like to feel like I have one too many things waiting in the wings for me to get to- that way I'm never in danger of being bored. It's kind of a crazy way to do things but I figure it balances out my work life where I have to be incredibly organized and detail oriented all the time. My creative process allows me to be free- and really isn't that what creativity should do- free our minds?
Thank you so much for sticking with me through these questions- I love being able to share a little piece of me with all of you :) The next part of the hop is to invite 3 crafty people that inspire me to take part in the hop next Monday Oct 3rd so make sure you stop by their blogs to see how they answered these questions!
A few things about Lenny in her own words..."I'm from Belgium and teach French in the 7th and 8th grade. I love papercrafting as well as reading, traveling, baking, gardening and floral arranging." I chose Lenny because I love her style and the way you can just tell how much she loves creating- it's one of my favorite things about reading her blog posts :)
Tabbatha
A few things about Tabbatha in her own words..."Hi, I'm Tabbatha. I'm an American living in Sweden who has just become a full fledged Swedish citizen! I love design. I love knitting. I love photography. And I love food!" I chose Tabbatha because I love her bright and graphic style and looking at her cards always make me think "Oh, I want to try that!" :)
Rachel
A few things about Rachel in her own words..."I started scrapbooking 15 years ago after my first daughter was born and started stamping and card making 3 years ago. I am addicted! I love sharing ideas and getting inspiration from other who are just as obsessed as I am!" I chose Rachel because her cards are just the cutest and I love scrolling through her blog for inspiration :)

Paper Perfection
Hiya crafty peeps! Guess what? It's a big week over at Some Odd Girl as we have not only new clear stamp releases but some other super huge reveals- like a brand new 6x6 paper pad and new embellishments! I pretty much totally geeked out when I heard there was going to be a Some Odd Girl paper line called Sunshine Sorbet- I mean my girl Kristy has some mad skills and awesome taste so I couldn't wait to get my hands on some. Let me tell you- I was not disappointed in the least! I wanted to show off as much as I could so I ended up using a small square die and doing sort of a patchwork background. Once I got it all put together I liked it so much I didn't want to cover it up so I ended up just using a simple sentiment and a few of the new sequins and wood hexagon embellishments also being release. Now make sure you don't miss out on anything by hopping on over to the Some Odd Girl Blog for some more inspiration. If you're already drooling for some paper goodness then just pop on over to the shop to grab some for yourself- the quality is amazing!
Thanks for stopping by to visit- make sure you check back in tomorrow for some more reveals :)

Happiness Found
Hiya crafty peeps! Just popping in to share a little make that I put together- my dad's were invited to a wedding for one of their couple friends and asked me to make a card for them. The wedding was taking place on a boat out on a lake so I wanted to incorporate some nautical themed bits and I had a couple of things stashed away that I received in my Paper Issues Swag Bag- those bags are like gold I tell ya! Normally I have a heck of a time finding any stamps that could be used for same sex couples and usually have to try and merge digi images myself so I danced for joy when Kristy over at Some Odd Girl released this image called Best Man a little while back. I've already gotten good use out of it and I know that won't be changing any time soon :)
Thanks so much for stopping in to visit me- if you're in the US I hope you have a fabulous holiday weekend- and for everyone else I hope your weekend feels like a holiday!

Hi Sunshine
Hiya peeps! Wow- did this week just fly by or what? I totally love Friday's and this one was even better because I actually found some crafty time tonight. I got this adorable lion from the Some Odd Girl On Safari clear stamp set colored up last night and he was just looking at me from my desk begging to get put on a card- so of course I had to sit down and comply, lol :) I just love the look of these corrugated cardboard cards, and felt like it suited this image perfectly, so I grabbed one of those and just a tad bit of design paper from Bo Bunny. Pair those things with some awesome bamboo twine (you can find that at Some Odd Girl too!) and some other bits and bobs and the card actually came together very quickly- I love when that happens!
Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me- I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Do As You Wish
Hiya crafty peeps! I've got just a little make to share with you today- I was asked to make a custom retirement card and give it some football team flavor by way of a Boise State Broncos theme. Now that ended up being a little harder than I thought as I tried to marry football and retirement in my mind :) So I started looking through my digi stamps to see if I could get some spark of inspiration and when I landed on Genie Gwen from Some Odd Girl I had the idea for the sentiment- but then I had to figure out how to incorporate the football team. So I ended up going for a straight up BSU team color genie with some good ol' blue and orange! I decided to keep things pretty clean and simple and extended the blue and orange theme to the rest of the card with some patterned paper from Bella Blvd, some twine from my stash and an awesome brad from Freckled Fawn. I think it ended up checking all the required boxes and hopefully will be loved by its recipient :) Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today- for all those in the US I hope you have a great holiday weekend!
