here are 5 beauty products that i've been loving recently.
[[ one ]]real techniques by samantha chapman blush brush
this is the only makeup related product out of the lot.
i haven't been into makeup these days.
basically i've only been putting makeup like 2-3 days in a week.
this just applies blush in a very nice way and the bristles just feel so soft despite being synthetic.
also, it's priced affordably and i like that it's pink.
the only downside is that it's not easily accessible here.
i got mine at
ulta.com via
comgateway.com.
[[ two ]]kiehl's creamy eye treatment with avocado
this is my second tub.
i decided to give this a try when i saw it at beijing airport.
and that's after i saw quite a few good reviews online.
it's a very basic eye cream which offers hydration for the eye area.
like the name says, it's very creamy.
i personally like my skincare products a little on the rich side,
so this may not be what you're looking for if you like light textured skincare products.
oh yes, just a little mention.
for products in a tub, i ALWAYS insist on using a spatula and not using my fingers to dig into the product.
that's very unhygenic in my opinion.
[[ three ]]philosphy turbo booster c powder
i got this the same manner as i did for the real techniques blush brush.
it's a vitamin c in powder form which you mix with your moisturizer or serum for day use.
to me, i think this is amazing.
on the packaging, it says that this:
- protects skin from environmental attack.
- helps brighten and even skin tone.
- helps prevent premature aging.
i've been mixing about half a scoop of it with my SK II skin signature or laura mercier tinted moisturizer.
it mixes really well with both.
this makes my skin feel smoother, so i guess it's really working.
in fact, ever since i tried the for beloved one vitamin c essence,
i'm super drawn to products that contains vitamin c in them.
to me, vitamin c works miracle.
[[ four ]]lush it's raining men
it's a surprise how the scent is growing on me especially when i mentioned that it reminds me of cough syrup previously.
haha.
alright, this still does smell a tad like cough syrup at times.
but, i'm getting to be able to smell more of the honey in it now.
i always use this with a bath lily because i like having more bubbles?
after a couple of continuous uses, i find that the scent does linger on your skin more, say 2 hours?
sometimes i would be quite embarrased when i think that the person beside me can smell the honey on me simply because i myself keep smelling it!
definitely going to repurchase this soon when i make a trip to lush.
my list of to buy from lush is getting a little long.
[[ five ]]soap and glory glad hair day conditioner
i'm obssesed with this.
i'm into my second tube after finishing the first in two weeks.
this just pampers my hair like never before and i actually noticed the difference after the first wash.
combined with moroccan oil, it's just a winner combination.
believe it or not, i do think that this product reduces the time to dry my hair.
it just works/ feels that way.
i don't know why it's so.
since the conditioner was great, i decided to try the shampoo.
but, i'm not a fan of the shampoo.
it's just a regular shampoo.
that's that.
i highly recommend the above five products.
before i end, just let me ramble a little.
this is so frustrating.
my left eye had a little infection, think not fully grown stye.
well, i've fully recovered after a few days.
but.
the thing is because i had on makeup that day when i discovered the infection,
i've got to throw away my eye liner and mascara when they are still pretty new.
shiokness.
even though i've got new eye liners and mascaras to use,
i still find myself having to repurchase the ones i've thrown away because they work on me.
i don't want to try my new liners and mascaras all at the same time in case they smudge on me.
well....

gelish manicure~
for cny this year, i opted for gelish manicure.
this was the second time i had one.
the first being the time just before i went on my beijing trip.
for some reason, i LOVE to have nicely manicured nails when i'm on a holiday.
and i can't stand having chipped nails, hence gelish.

this was taken on the first day i had the manicure.

and this was taken 23 days later.
by the way, my nails were put through 3 car washes and i did zero maintance.
they looked just as fresh and shiny as on the first day.
but.
1. my nails grew longer.
well.. the growth wasn't too obvious given my choice of colour.
unless you scrutinise my nails.
i wouldn't recommend doing loud colours.
firstly, you may get sick of the colour after a couple of days.
secondly, it would look pretty disgusting after a week or so with the new nails.
2. all except my middle fingernail wore well.
no chips at all.
in the very first place, i experienced the worst kind of nail condition with my middle finger ever.
it was peeling like crazy before i had my manicure.
surprisingly, it held up for 20 days before the gelish started peeling horribly.
anyhow, because the middle fingernail looked horrendous,
i went to soak the gelish off yesterday.
and.. i'm so happy with the way my manicurist shaped my nails.
they are short, neat and tidy now.
that's that.
