Pictures...

Grandma Janice with the grandkids.

Seth, welcome to the family! Paige and Scott had this little stud on Saturday the 19th. So cute!

Kade is getting Molly started early.

So cute! She gets so mad at me when I do her hair. I have a feeling she is going to be like her mother.

I made this dress with some leftover fabric I had.

Boston and Molly at a little BBQ we had at the Hall's.

Help...

I have a few items of business that I need some advice on....
1. Does anyone know of any remedies for vertigo? Lately, while working graves my equilibrium gets a little off. While I'm sure it is entertaining to watch me wobble and almost run into walls while doing bed checks, I am not a fan. The other day I actually got so nauseated I threw up. This is not something that I would like to continue. I figure there has to be some cure out there. Don't say sleep! The aforementioned throw up actually occurred after sleeping.

2. Kade and I are going to Denver in October to attend a Bronco's game. Now, there is some information that you need to know. Last year we went to a game at the end of August. I was just a couple of months pregnant and we decided to drive to save money. I'm not sure if it was the hormones or the drive but I detested the entire state of Wyoming and everything about that drive. I vowed that I would never drive again or even think about Wyoming without cuss words coming to mind (this excludes Jackson Hole). We flew in December when we went again and it was fabulous. Now, to the present, we are currently strapped for cash so I told Kade that I would be willing to drive. I'm not even going to go in to how awesome of a wife this makes me because I'm sure he already knows. So, my point, I am trying to get myself excited and give myself reasons how this can be a positive experience. I have only come up with two. 1) I can get a 50 cent ice cream cone at Little America. 2) We can stop at some outlets we found on the drive home. While I love ice cream and shopping it is going to take more than that to get me there so let me know if you have any road trip tips.

Molly update:
She is a total spaz. She is stills squealing like crazy and is learning that high pitched screams get attention quickly. She is getting frustrated by the fact that she can't eat grown up food. She actually tries to sit up while nursing as if she is too grown up to lay down and relax. If you are eating food while holding her she opens her mouth every time you take a bite. She still loves to drink from my water bottles. She gives big slobbery kisses, this might go back to the food thing, maybe she thinks somehow she will get food. She loves her feet and is constantly trying to eat them. She thinks her dad is hilarious. She can somehow reach everything even though she is not mobile. She still hates tummy time and I am really bad about having tummy time, therefore she may never crawl or roll over. She just pushes up and yells. She loves "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". Today she was playing with the remote and changed the channel accidentally to UEN which had some weird claymation counting show for kids in Spanish and she started laughing and thought it was the best thing ever. I try to read a book in Spanish to her a couple times a week. Kade wants me to speak as much Spanish to her as I can. I hear arguments for and against this but I figure the more words she hears the better, who cares what language. She is becoming very feisty, with that comes a lot of fun but also a lot of attitude. I will post pictures soon.

Zucchini

As I have discussed previously, we had a garden this year. I would love to say that as we planted this garden we performed all of the necessary research on spacing, production, sunlight, water, etc, but we didn't. We kind of winged it. Considering I'm married to a farmer I assume that they just know this stuff. While Kade did a fabulous job using his inner planting senses, we did not imagine how much zucchini we would have. So I took it upon myself to find my favorite Zucchini bread recipe.

The winner! Thanks to a lovely woman named Betty Crocker. I did have to modify cooking times with my little oven and I also added a little nutmeg because I love nutmeg!

The not so winner, I made this batch with the assistance of my sister Lauren. While we did have a great time making this, it was not such a success. We chose this recipe because of the fact that it contained nutmeg. I couldn't get it out of the pan without completely destroying it's original form. It also came out tasting more like pumpkin bread, not sure how that happened.

This was a white zucchini bread I made in the bread maker. It was quick and tasted just like a basic white bread but with a healthy dose of zucchini. Can't lose.

Kade is always good about eating my cooking whether he really enjoys it is another question.

Molly is usually impossible to fall asleep on her own but the cooking must have worn her out. She was a little fussy so I just kept putting her binky in and all of the sudden she just passed out. It was a beautiful moment.

I really am going to miss fresh veggies out of the garden now that fall is on it's way. However, I really enjoy fall.
1. I love jackets! There is something that just makes me feel sassy when I am wearing a cute jacket. I just feel complete.
2. The air seems fresh. There is something wonderful about taking walks, sitting on the porch, or even working in the yard in the fall. Although I love summer, I don't do the whole sweating thing so once it is cool I don't mind exerting myself while outside.
3. Obviously the colors.
4. Back to School. This was the first fall that I didn't have to go to school and while Kade thinks I'm crazy, I miss it. I have been subbing which has been great.
5. I get to see my husband more. Summer is such a busy time for him.

Graveyard Gab, Molly & Other Issues

Go AGGIES!!!
I have to give a shout out to the Aggies who got on the score board the other night against the U. Now some of you may not think this is much of an accomplishment, well it is. After having attended USU for 5 years (yup took me 5 years, don't want to talk about it) I learned what being a true fan is. I didn't go to the games to watch them win, I went to the game to support the team, and maybe to meet boys in my single days, but mostly to support the team and just have a good time. I can probably count on one hand how many home games USU won while I attended. Football definitely isn't our selling point. This year there are some big expectations placed on the team because of the new coach. But don't you worry, aggies, I will still support you when you completely disapoint. Always have and always will. Now, you will have the support of this little sassy pants as well.

Last weekend while Kade and Eric went to the Broncos game, Molly and I went down to Kaysville. Now, many of you might be thinking, "Does Jessica often put a dew-rag on her daughter?". The answer, no. Molly and I wanted to do a little lounging in the pool and after I had thoroughly lathered her up with sunblock (whitey) I realized I had forgotten her hat. As usual, Janice came to the rescue. She pulled out a trusty handkerchief and we were set. While she may look a little rough, we had a great time. My mom some how managed to find the most amazing lounge chair for the pool I have ever seen. Who needs a day at the spa when you can sit in this thing? I honestly could have spent the entire day in that thing.
Some issues:
  • I have had something on my mind for a little while and the other night I was discussing it with a friend. I think it is time to send it out into the cyberworld. The issue of working moms. It seems to be an area where most people have an opinion. I don't think either side of the issue is right or wrong. However, I do feel that it is a personal opinion and everyone should do what is best for them and not judge other people. We, as women, have a serious problem with judging other women when it comes to motherhood. I discussed this when I talked about nursing. Bottom line, you are a better mother when you do what is best for you in your situation. I know some women who are not happy unless they have an outlet, I know others who are not happy unless they can stay home with their kids, while others may not have the option. We need to remember that we don't know about others situations or needs. Just worry about yourself and the decisions you want to make for your family. We need to support each other instead of tearing each other down to justify our own decisions.
  • I think it is really sad that we live in a country in which people would not allow their child to listen to a speech by their president. I'm sorry but anyone who thinks President Obama is going to take this opportunity to push his "socialist agenda" on the youth of America is just dumb. I'm sorry if I've offended anyone but it's true. I guarantee you he will not discuss policy. He will encourage kids to work hard and stay in school. It is an opportunity for them to hear from the leader of the greatest country in the world. What an experience. Our kids need to be taught to respect the office of the President of the United States, whether their parents agree with his positions or not. No republicans threw a fit when Reagan and Papa Bush did this.
  • Molly- Molly is eating her cereal like a champ and I think we are ready for some baby food. She is so stinkin funny and I laugh out loud all day. I still feel like I can never get anything done but maybe that is just how you feel forever after you become a mom. She jabbers a lot! She whines now instead of cries, unless she is really mad or trying to get your attention. She has started noticing when I leave the room even for a second and lets me know. She also has become a little sensitive about strangers. She takes after her mother when it comes to sleep, noisy and restless. She will let out a random yell or start whining and she will still be asleep. I still have to keep her in her straight jacket to sleep. She discovered the cats at my parents and was pretty fascinated with them. She squeals instead of laughs. She will do short laughs but mostly just squeal and it is getting very loud! She has graduated to a high chair and loves it. I think she feels as though she is part of the group and often tries to join in the conversation with the afore mentioned squeals. She loves balls, or at least I think she does. When you put a ball in front of her she gets a very serious look on her face and slaps it as hard as she can until it goes too far for her to get it. She will do this over and over again. She will be the athlete her mother never was. She has recently became extremely interested in her feet and loves to grab them and pull them. I never thought I would this much fun with a little munchkin.
