asherversary #1

so its been a year since kason and i were married for time and all eternity. we made it! one year down, eternity to go and that makes me happy. what have i learned this past year? marriage is hard sometimes, but worth it. i have learned so much about myself and how i can be a better woman. i love being a wife. i love being kason's wife. and i love kason. life is good. actually, it's great.

happy one year anniversary to us!

p.s. ask me what kason gave me for our anniversary? ok i'll tell you. a pearl necklace and i love it! isn't he the best? the answer is yes. aren't i lucky? again, the answer is yes!

early mornings, awesome husband, and some sweet golfing

its been a week of student teaching. good thus far. mostly just observing introductions and all the boring beginning of the year stuff. one down side= a hour. i have forgotten how bad waking up for a hour is. waking up at 5:30 is just not for me. i know its not really that early, but i am so not a morning person. i am really dreading the days when 5:30 means its dark and cold and getting out of our warm bed. on the brighter side of things i don't have a fifth or a sixth hour so i get done early. still i am gone a lot and i kind of feel bad leaning kason home everyday. though i do love having someone to come home to. i better enjoy it now before his school starts. he has been so great doing things for me while i am gone. one day i came home and the house was totally clean. i love the smell of cleaning products as i walk in the door. knowing everything is disinfected makes me smile. i hate leaving to do lists for him and i love that i don't need to. another day kason decided to take me to the driving range. i have never golfed before and i really was terrible at first, but i really liked it. i even had some good shots and impressed the hubby. i think i liked it because i am not limited by my knees. if i stink at golf its just because i stink not because my physical body is limited. so i like golf. who knows maybe i will get good at it.

sorry for such a long post.
sorry to those who actually read it.

one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish

last week kason's dad took us fishing up at lake mary {near flagstaff}. we left at 3 in the morning and i slept the whole way there. it turns out i really like fishing. i caught 8 fish! kason caught 1 and dave, well, he did his public service and cleaned up the bottom of the lake. i guess i am just a natural fisherman. actually they gave me the best lure. all i had to do was put it in the water and wait for a bite. i let kason take the hooks out of the fish. that is one job that is definitely for the husband. thanks kason and dave for a great fishing trip!

5 pike + 3 perch + a beautiful day on the lake = a great fishing day!

p.s. if you are counting you will notice there are only 8 pictures of our 9 fish. one got away as kason was getting the hook out of its mouth before we could get a pic.

trip to utah

kason and i went up to utah this weekend to visit some of his fam. it was a short trip, but a lot of fun. we went swimming, played catch phrase, and just relaxed and visited. kason played some b-ball and i had my first experience going antique shopping. it was a great trip! thanks to the Gerrards for letting us come visit and invade your house!

sorry no pics. i took my camera but didn't take any pictures. i am a bad blogger.

kankle part 2

so the kankle continues. my foot got a lot worse so i had to go back to the doctor. i was lucky enough to get a shot in my rear end and some blood work done. all of this because of a little blister! seriously?! only me.

kankle

saturday night kason and i enjoyed a little walk around san tan mall. it was so nice to slow down, relax, and walk around a bit. i even found a sweet deal and bought myself two skirts from ann taylor loft. {each were originally $60.00 and i got mine for $9.88 a piece!} it was a great night minus the little blister i got on the back of my heal from my shoes. i get blisters all the time so not a big deal...or so i thought. then yesterday my foot started to swell up and turn all red. i was in some serious pain when i tried to walk. kason carried me up the stairs, gave me some advil and some ice for my foot, and sent me too bed. when i woke up i thought it looked better so i went to work. apparently, it didn't look so good because all of the moms in there were worried about me and my bosses sent me home to go to the doctor. so i took a trip to the doctor even though we don't have insurance. {wasn't as expensive as i thought it would be.} one look at my foot and the doc gave a little cringe and said you have one bad infection in your foot. i guess that little blister got infected and now i have a problem. he gave me some serious antibiotics and told me to soak my foot in hot water and epsom salts three times a day for a week. i guess he is really worried about it because he told me to call him everyday for the next couple days to give a report on my foot. if it gets any worse i am suppose to go straight in. moral of this long story: 1) be nice to your blisters 2) 1 really bad foot infection = 1 serious kankle. the picture isn't that great but you get the idea.

our little garden

ever since we got married kason has been dying for a garden. we really wanted to grow stuff on our back patio but unfortunately it was always shaded. i think our apartment is the only one in the complex that dosen't get any sun. until now that is. finally a little corner of our patio gets some sunlight at around 3:00. as soon as kason noticed those little rays of sun we headed to home depot and lowes to buy some plants to start our garden. plants + some cute pots + some soil and a watering can = one awesome garden! we planted tomatos, bell peppers, jalapenos, parsley, oragano, basil, and some flowers for me. kason dreams of one day having a huge garden, but our little one will do for now. lets hope out little plants survive!

yummy in my tummy tortillas!

so sorry for being the worst blogger ever. the truth is kason and i spend most of our time doing homework. sad but true. however lately we have been taking a break every now and then to make tortillas! i know the thought of kason and i in the kitchen attempting to cook is kind of scary, but believe it or not we have had some success! thanks to renee hatch's amazing tortilla recipe our tortillas aren't too bad. some would say they are actually pretty tasty! yummy in my tummy tortillas!

lion king!

for christmas kason got me tickets to the lion king at gammage. we went on saturday and i loved it! its not the best musical i have seen, but the costumes and production is amazing! kason wasn't toof thrilled with it. he thought it was weird. {hopefully i can get him to see wicked and give musicals one more shot. wicked is way better. my personal fav.} it was a great christmas present and i loved it! thanks kason!

ps: so i have a mac and whenever i use it to blog blogger doesn't give me the options of changing the font size, color, or style...until now! i am pretty happy about it. maybe i will blog more...maybe.

honeymoon!

one week in mexico near cancun in an all inclusive resort = awesome! we had the best honeymoon. most of the time we did, well, nothing but it was wonderful! we just hung out on the beach rode around in our golf cart and got to relax. the relaxing was definitely needed and we enjoyed it! kason's favorite part was getting to use a golf cart all week. our room was in a villa away from the rest of the hotel in the middle of the golf course {awesome!}. thus, since it was so far away from the lobby and the beach we got a golf cart to drive all week. we also spent a day going to the mayan ruins of chinchin itza {did i spell that wrong?} we spent 6 hours driving through the jungle on a bus but it was well worth it. it was amazing! we had a great honeymoon and we loved it! {thank you patti and dave!} now its back to reality. school starts tomorrow. good luck!
