went for evco's concert yesterday at SCH with eugene zhiyong boonshan yitian big hoohoo hansheng and geraldine. seemed like a mini HCCO exco gathering ba.

anyway i enjoyed the concert very much.. the 压轴 of the concert didnt disappoint me at all. i attended the concert mainly to listen to the 春夏秋冬 and i was impressed by the CO. esp the suonas.. let me count. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 suonas! and i really like the 喉管 and 低唢 alot. the mellow sounds that they produce. that blend into the background of the 乐团 yet at the same time have a distinct voice of its own. and 胡炳旭 was being his usual witty and funny self while conducting, as seen especially at the last part of the concert when they were playing the encore pieces.

listening to 春 and 冬 no doubt brings back good memories when i was back in JC. while preparing for 天籁回音 in 2004. when i was still a j1. all the fun and memorable times as a junior.. hanging around and playing a fool everywhere. and putting in effort for our concert, for 春 and 冬. their 夏 and 秋 somehow brings out feelings and thoughts which i cant figure out what it is now (stupid brain memory).. im starting to appreciate songs like these, more abstract, less melodious and more emotional. more thought-evoking i suppose, as compared to songs like rasa sayang & 花好 where everyone just start to clap and shake their bod bod with the music.

i suppose there's a reason why im still attending CO concerts nowadays even though im really not in touch with CO anymore. i have to admit that CO is still there, a small part of my lif even though i dont eat CO, sleep CO and live CO now (yea i ate CO, slept CO and lived CO in the past). i suppose there's this aura about CO songs, be it 龙的传奇, 春夏秋冬 or others like 龙腾虎跃 and 梦蝶 that just attracts me to them. this sense of homeliness, this sense of belonging, and whenever i listen to CO songs it just reminds me of my childhood everytime.

i think it has something to do with 中华文化的精髓. not that im an advocator of chinese culture (i dont think have the 本事 to do so.. look at me now im talking english everywhere). but i guess for me personally it's something that retains my chineseness. to me, being a chinese is not just about knowing your roots. for someone who has been touching chinese musical instruments for 6 years, listening to his instructor preach about the importance of 中华文化, it's hard to exclude 华乐 as part of his life.

even though i know i wont be touching any CO instruments for a long time.. i know that when i have the time and money, i will attend CO concerts..

and life goes on..

i will be on a hiatus as my XP com is spoilt and im now relying on a win98 com just to surf the web. no music no games no nothing and it's super lag. so i dont think i will update anymore until my com gets fixed or something..

btw, OOTP is not as good as i thought it will be. everything seems to be squeezed into the mere 2hr+ show.. which makes some parts quite weird. like the role of cho chang.. and some others ba. i think globet was a better movie than this one.. hai personal preferences ba.

for once i can see a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel. 114 days. minusing my leaves and offs i would have left around.. 80+ days left? cheers!

it's over. but it feels so surreal.. not much joy or triumphant or whatsoever. just a sense of relief i guess. that i probably dont have to go outfield anymore for the next 1 year or so (before i return for ict). for the fact that i dont have to camo my face and bear with not bathing and shitting for 4 days. but the feeling of emancipation and freedom is not really there.. maybe i will feel it in 114 days when i get back my pink ic :D

meanwhile.. it's one major obstacle conquered. left audit and wallaby prep to go.. so glad that i dont have to go wallaby despite being pestered by my boss to extend my ord date for the ex man.

the final outfield was not bad. the weather was good. except for the 3rd day where it rained pretty heavily in the morning and i got myself drenched while sleeping inside the vehicle. other that than.. it's the same. not stressed or anything (too tired to be stressed in the 1st place)

really want to thank the planning grp man.. sean chinglee leonard joshua timothy staff kevin staff barry s2 s3 and many many others. for working together these few months and enduring this 8 day 7 night ex (yea it's 8 days for us since we started to work for the ex 4 days earlier) we did it! congrats!

for now.. it's time to have a good rest and gearing up for my CCC :D

probably the last post before i book in later and i don't have much time so i'll make this quick.

managed to not go back camp ytd so i was able to send justin off back to taiwan. despite the 1 hr+ journey from the north all the way to changi airport just to see him for like 1 min or so, the effort was worth it. for someone whom i've knew and kept in contact with for 7 years. all the best justin and THANKS FOR THE PRESENT I REALLY APPRECIATED IT.

saw quite a number of people there.. most of them whom i have not seen for quite a while. like daniel, meishi and a couple of OAC pple. and also hoohoo and gladys who's back from england.. had a nice chat with them for lunch. after that me and nic went to watch die hard 4 at the cathay.. with gloria. nice show. lots of fighting. and maggie q's sexy and cool. and bruce's a superman. somehow he just nv dies..

after the movie caught up with meisum who's also back from uk. went for dinner and subsequently bummed around at nic's house. havent been to his house for quite a while le.. watched alot of stupid vids on youtube.. had to leave early cus of today's early book in.. zzZ

caught live earth too. impressive i shld say.. i shld go green! (which im doing so in a couple of hours.. sian)

currently at zhiyong's house using his com to blog.. oh my oh my im so jealous of his com(s)!! big big LCD screen.. windows vista.. oh my oh my im so gonna settle my com after ATEC.

must remind myself of the things to do once fri the 13th is over:
- book a date for BTT
- settle my com
- plan my taiwan trip
- try to look for a job
- read up on chem and math (cus i feel like giving tuition and yet i think my basic knowledge is gone.. POOF like THAT)
- work out (oops)

lazing around at zhiyong's house is actually quite fun with a bunch of peeps arnd, namely yitian zhiyong justin and me. talking nonsense and bumming around doing nothing.. a stark contrast to what i do in camp. hectic schedule and getting harder and harder to breathe everyday. must really treasure the times.. need to go back camp tonight. and subsequently a wonderful weekend stay at our dearest SGD chalet until atec is over. so fast so fast... 7 days to the day to end everything and technically, 1 day to the start of atec for me. so soon.. cant wait.

the week has been more fun than the previous.. we got to enjoy yourselves for quite a while before gearing up for another fulltroop exercise. this time it will be THE exercise.. mixed feelings. cant wait for it to be over but at the same time im always dreading exercises.. esp when one is just after another and u know u havent completely recovered from the previous exercise in terms of the amout of shit that u need to kio in the map planning room.. blah blah.

anyway.. as i was saying we got to enjoy yourselves. bascially it was 3 day workweek for me.. tues wed and thurs. went out on tues, slacked abit on wed and then booked out on thurs! and we went to eat botak jones on thurs.. ALRIGHTS it was so great i tell u. cajun chicken rocks.. esp the layer of cheese on top of the rich thick succulent meat! if only i had my camera with me to take all these good delicious food!! too bad they had lots of times of power failure, which led to the toaster being unable to work. otherwise i could have ordered U-crazy-WHAT again man... but nevertheless YUM YUM. satifsying.. worth the price. i cant wait to go back there to eat again! and next time it better dont have some power failure ok..

off on friday was well spent too! met up with cj and ben.. bunk buds to shop in orchard.. bought some nice clothes and then after that we went to vivo to continue shopping.. we shopped until we simply dropped dead; our legs were aching.. no wonder army introduced route marches.. so as to accustom guys to walk long distances in the shopping centres carrying heavy loads of shopping bags that belong to their girlfriends/wives.. hurhur. but overall it was fulfilling.. and it's like one of the last days to really go on a shopping spree before the gst hike today.. the day ended well with yet another sumptuous meal in carls junior. yum yum

sat and sun were spent lazing around at home.. gave me time to sort out quite a lot of stuffs. and designing this web layout! i think there are still glitches here and there.. still trying to solve a number of stuffs. pls comment so that i can improve..

the weather nowadays are super hot i tell u. unbearable... i had insomnia thanks to it. cant forget when it happened... it was on tues night after my nights out. i was on my bed from 11pm and i was still awake at 2+.. thanks to the hot night i was even sweating while lying on the bed with my shirt off.. omg i couldnt stand it. stupid weather.. by 3am i was still counting stars outside.. finally got to sleep slightly after 3 and woke up like 2 or 3 hrs later or something. in the end was super tired on wednesday.. zZZ

yup that's all.. gonna book in soon. 18 weeks to ORD.. cant wait cant wait!
