this week has been pretty fine although i was made the LSC for the week. cause the schedule wasnt really that mad. only 2 days of section training which was quite horrible. especially during the 2nd day where we had this AI section proficiency test. and i dont think i want to go into the details cause if i start i wont stop. so in short it was horrible. the whole section was scolded and barked at by our dearest staff every single minute. and morale was low.. everything started to go wrong and whatever could go wrong went wrong.
the 2 days could be summarised in just 2 words: murphy's law.
and i sprained my neck on tuesday lah! UGH it was so painful =X i jumped down from the BX with everything on to meet the timing to get my redcon 1. then my SAR 21 hit my helmet as i jumped down and the next moment i heard a CRACK on my neck! after that, for the rest of the day i couldnt turn my neck properly le. even when i sleep i did it in an awkward position. ah sighs.
had ippt on wed. and yes i got my 200 bucks! =D hey hey.. the circuit trainings really paid off.. u see.. i was like the 3rd last from my section to finish my 2.4 and hey.. i did it in around 9:30! woo.. and i completed my ippt with my sprained neck! it was horrible.. had to endure the pain for the whole morning.. ugh! but it was worth it for the 200 bucks. and we had nights off on the night! but very sian.. just went to shop on JP and lot 1 and then went back to camp to rest le..
had parade rehearsal on thurs and fri.. but im excused thanks to my neck. i got att b x 3 days, excuse parade, excuse heavy load x 5 days, and excuse helmet x 5 days. haha so i did marshalling for the whole parade rehearsal. it was ok.. but it's gonna be exciting on monday. cus im going to direct the COA and CAO into our parade square! haha imagine seeing the stars on the shoulders.. lol

after 8 weeks, the true sides of human nature finally surface. true colours are being shown every moment. backstabbing are becoming more and more common and evident. conversations are getting more and more superficial and "sour" and usually one of the parties gets hurt in the end by the sarcasm behind. the mood in camp is getting duller and more dead. reporting sick rate is rising..
no big issue. it's all human nature. owells -shrugs-
i wonder what's in store for me for the next 10 weeks.

this will be a quick post before i book in tonight.
some particular angel has complained that my blog is nothing but full of army lingos which she cant understand. owell.. i'll try to make my blog as laymen as possible ok! alrights.. cant really remember what happened this week. but the highlights were certainly IPPT! ok for you guys who dont know what IPPT is.. it's the same as napfa lah.. yup i had this trial test and i got a gold! WOOHOO morale booster.. and hey my 2.4 improved from the start of the course.. from 10:30 to 9:40.. almost improved by 1 minute! so happy :) hopefully i can maintain or improve my timing...
next will be our floatation exercise! yup.. it has been claimed that our vehicles are able to drive on water.. so the instructors drove our vehicles down to the water.. and it actually floated! like wow! we stood on top of our vehicles and they certainly felt like boats rather than vehicles le. and then came the fun part. they told us to simulate that our vehs were sinking and we had to jump down from our vehs into the waters. like WOW! swimming! :D actually we wouldnt have the :D on our faces if not for the scorching hot weather. but owell. since we had to do it might as well enjoy it! so each of us jumped down and wheeeeeeee it felt super cooling! i didnt feel like getting my body off the waters lah. but what to do.. the instructors were barking again..
and that's where the sian part comes in. when we got back on shore we realised that everyone of us was freaking wet and cold and bogged down by the water. esp on our boots which were so freaking heavy thanks to the amt of water that was inside.. it felt like a fish tank. and when we removed our boots to drain out the water we were like OMG SO MUCH WATER! sians..
haha basically that's all for our floatation exercise. the next highlight (or rather, lowlight) of the week was of course.. GUARD DUTY! what made it different from the previous GD was that it was 24 hrs! like WHAT THE HELL... from sat morning to sunday morning lah.. me and ben were together prowling again. we had 4 shifts. from 1000 to 1200, 1600 to 1800, 2200 to 2400 and from 0400 to 0600. the 1st 2 shifts were ok.. we were still abit hyper. both of us when reaching the stadium were still pretty energetic and we had still enough strength to do abit of lowrope. of course it's the best time to practise our SOC.. we had our long 4 SBO and rifle.. the only thing that was missing was our helmet. lol.
but by the time night came we were like pretty tired le. just wanted to complete the thing asap and go back to guard room to sleep. haha we were pretty zoned out already! what to do.. lol. and i got super little sleep lah. by the time i reached home today at around 9+ i ate breakfast and slept at 10+. only to see the light again at 5+ 6pm. like what the hell my day is gone..
alrights. gotta book in..

well at least my mugging efforts for As paid off. just that the ungraded for chem s was so. UGH. nvm let's not talk about it.
anyway it was college day yesterday. and we had our prize presentation awards for those who did well for their As. for me it was a very simple event: just go there, stone while listening to the speakers talk, go up the stage, shake hands with the GOH, go down and continue stoning until the whole thing was over. haha. well i didnt really care much abt the ceremony itself; to many of us it was the meeting up of old friends and catching up with the old times which concerned us more :)
it was really nice to see the batch of '04-'05 inside LT3 again when reporting for the ceremony. surprising i found that all the guys seemed so familiar and so close (HAHA the power of NS. even those who i havent never talked to before in HC seemed like friends to me. LOL) and yet all the girls seemed so.. unfamiliar. as the saying goes 女大十八变. all those girls who used to look so toot back then suddenly became swans.. many of us were like. WAPIANG SO CHIO. WHO IS SHE.. I TOT SHE LIKE VERY NERD LAST TIME ONE.. HOW COME SO CHIO NOW. WASEH.. on the contrary all those guys who used to look so shuai back then all look so toot now. all our hairs.. the recruits hair, the sispec hair and all the short hairs. no style at all. lol.
while the ceremony itself was pretty boring, faith's speech was inspiring. it really brought back all the memories of my 2 years back in jc. people say that hc life is boring... it's all about mugging and mugging. but i choose to disagree. hc isnt abt mugging OK.. (snaps at bunkmates)
im proud to be a hwachongian. and im glad that i have made the right choice for going to HC to study :)

$599.34
finally. my 1st official corporal pay!
speaking of which. it's already 6 mths since i have been into the army. seems pretty fast huh. it just feels so weird. i can still remember the day of enlistment. the feeling of reluctance and uncertainty as i stepped on the penguin fastcraft and headed towards tekong..
the 6 mths seemed so long yet so short. ah well.. everyday has been a hectic one until you have not much time to think and reflect on the past 6 mths.. maybe that's why time seems to tick so fast. (oh no im contradicting myself aint i?)
im digressing. anyway.. this week has been dedicated to driving! YEA.. the first vehicle that im gonna drive is not a civilian car but... a BX. if u dont know what a BX is it's the short form for bionix. and if u still dont know what a bionix is pls look below:

yes that is a bionix. an infantry fighting vehicle (pls dont call it a tank..). it weighs around 24 tonnes.. super heavy. and the driving compartment is very small and squeezy. not very friendly for tall pple like me with long legs. =\ and if you dont know where the driving compartment is it's just in front of the turret.. anyway. it's pretty simple to maneuver the BX.. i did it on the 1st round.. it's easier than playing daytona lah.
the 1st day was ok cus we were only on basic driving. which meant we were going around in circles, circles and more circles. but on the 2nd day onwards we went on to advanced driving, where we had to cross obstacles like narrow road, U turns, gullies and steep slopes. it's more challenging but at the same time more exciting too! esp when going through the gullies. it felt as if it was a roller coaster ride (at least for me lah).
i was the observer up at the turret there standing and this particular driver is a really bobo one. when going up the gully he didnt accelerate much, so the instructor told him to accelerate more. suddenly he just one shot press down the accelerator and the whole vehicle just jerked up the gully! oh my god my body was flung and hit the back of the compartment but lucky i wasnt hurt. the more "fun" part came right after this: when going down the gully this bobo driver didnt release the accelerator! like WHAT THE HELL!!! COMMON SENSE TELLS US THAT WHEN GOING IN THE DIRECTION OF GRAVITY WE SHLD CONTROL OUR SPEED!! and this guy had to accelerate. so we went at this extremely high speed while going down and HEY! i nearly flew off the vehicle ok! imagine seeing the flying dutchman right here in sungei gedong..
grrr.
and so that driver was labelled bobo driver #1 by the instructors. cold sweat to me and both my instructor loh.
for me it was quite alright until the steep slope, where we had to stop halfway up the slope and then continue driving. i forgot to press onto the brake after i released the parking brake and started accelerating. as a result the vehicle started to slid downwards. i was like OMG lah. but luckily i pressed onto the brake on time.. otherwise confirmed get Fed by ah ken..
well. test is on monday. cant wait. but i dont want the day to come too. cus after driving it will be the start of section training. which will mark the start of our effed-up days, where confinement will be award like free flow of water.. LOL sighs. come what may lah. just hope there will be no major screw ups next week. otherwise life will be so damn sian esp with that ah ken around.
speaking of ah ken. I SAW HIS FRIENDSTER ACCOUNT! how scary can that be. esp when i saw his photos of him smiling and grinning.. it looked so scary. cus whenever he smiles and grins at the section something will be wrong. it's either loads of punishments and scoldings, loads of extras or confinement like free flow of water.. he's so successful in making us so scared of him that even his photos seem so scary. EYEUR =X

my 1 mth as a trainee in AISL ended off with a horrid bookout last friday. with the BOS (who thinks he is a BOSs) who is acting as a master (when actually he's only a staff) treating us like all his slaves (yea trainees are slaves. what to do?).. got held back for 1 hour before we could bookout. ah sigh it was partly our fault for not clarifying all the contradicting instructions but hey, do u really have to make a mountain out of a molehill? nevertheless it's over and we got to bookout. so.. :D
other than that i recall one incident where i was greeted by a recruit! yea i was going off from my emart trip when a group of recruits went rushing towards me.. (i guess it was there 1st emart trip) then there was this particular recruit who looked at me and said, "good afternoon corporal." of course i was so :D :D :D and feeling so high cus i was actually greeted and not the other way round for the 1st time! haha! but i didnt show a grin at all and i just greeted back. haha it seemed so stupid but hey.. sometimes little things make people happy. :)

go watch if u want to see the hunk in action! oh man brandon routh is so shuai! that's it... he's my idol for now..
