this week has been a pretty eventful week. both good and bad bah. started off with guard duty on monday night. i was kinda looking forward to it cus it's my 1st guard duty since BMT. but another side of me was fearing the turnout which was claimed to be pretty scary. ok so back to the guard duty. i was doing this prowler shift from 12 to 2. supposedly. but by the time i finished prowling it was almost 3! omg that explains how big sungei gedong is. and this prowling is more of a navex. had a hard time finding all the checkpoints. but ben and me did it with the help of a dog (which is supposedly trained to lead us to the checkpoints lol). the good things about the guard duty were that we didnt have a turnout and we got to skip the live run on the next day. but the bad things were that we had a staff parade just before my duty and the whole world got to skip the live run the next day cus it was raining! grrr and thanks to the fact that there wasnt any live run lessons were pushed forward, leaving us with no time to rest. GRRR. nvm it's over. i shall wait for 3 more weeks for my next guard duty. sighs..
the rest of the week was pretty much ok except for some appearances by our most beloved ken liew. which makes life sucky. he's just being dulan/guailan/xialan lah.. nag and nag over nothing. ah let's not talk about it. but hey! there was nights out on wed! HEE HEE WHAT A SURPRISE! we went to watch SM4! haha i think it wasnt as good as SM3 and many of the parts were so lame until cannot be lamer. but hey.. it was a no-brainer. got to destress ourselves for a while while getting away from sungei gedong. it felt good.
the highlight was the weekend! woohoo! met the class for a game of vball yesterday! there was quite a no of pple. let's see.. me soon kian sherman william jeff yimin yihui liangjian for the guys and py sy and jy for the girls. plus there was weekiat tallie and michael guo. which adds up to.. 15 pple! COOL! had a fun afternoon sweating it out at the vball court. and yea our skills have significantly deproved. but fitness-wise the guys have improved alot. we could play a longer game of vball and netball without feeling breathless at all. HAH. and many of us could sprint faster liao :D sherman and i were running SOCs when we had nothing to do. and HEH doing lowrope in clean fatigue is super easy lah. i think the level of fitness in us is due to the trainings in SISPEC and for me, ATI. hhaha we played until 7+ and went to poolside restaurant to eat. by then 1/2 of us were pretty tired already.. the whole world looked pretty stoned to me. =
then we proceeded to lj's house to watch the soccer matches. haha by the time germany started to play with sweden, 1/2 of our eyes could barely open le. well the game was quite stupid. it seemed like an arty bombardment to me as germany kept shooting long-range shots towards the swedish goaline. and i think the keeper did a really great job to save all those shots. but hey! that was only for the 1st part of the match (which was supposedly the most interesting part of the match already). the rest of the match was so.. zzZ and how could larsson miss the penalty! OMG LAH everyone was hoping for him to score so as to add some life to the match. but he missed! zzz owells. i couldnt remember what happened at the 2nd half cus i was already dozing off.
miraculously we woke up after the 1st match, snacked a bit and then went back to sleep again. till 3am for the match between argentina and mexico. i think it's almost the same. good attack bad defense. owells but it was more interesting than the 1st match i would say. and during the extra time it was so exciting. and hey! rodriguez scored a stunning winner ok! what a curler! everyone just woke up at that moment, opened their eyes big big to see the winning goal, cheered for a few seconds and then went back to sleep again. HAHAHA.
woke up again at 8+, left at 9+, had breakfast at some hawker centre, came back home and dropped dead all the way until 3pm. oh man my sunday is gone AGAIN..

just a quick update before i set off to sungei gedong again.
shocking shocking. czech actually got defeated by ghana. alrights.. this shows that petr cech is not as godlike as i thought he would be. good work ghana.. haha im not pro-ghana nor anti-czech. im just anti-petr cech cus he's from some football club that i detest. lol.. and wow! 9-men US held italy to a 1 - 1 draw. alrights!! this world cup's gonna be more interesting than i thought.
on world cup. it's amazing to realise that a trainee's life is actually determined by the world cup. how so? it's so simple. when the instructors bet on games and they win, we feel like we are in heaven. they dont push us (ok not say they never but the frequency is lesser), their attitudes are nicer, etc. however, when they lose their bets we are totally GGed. they roar. they bark. they do the meanest things to make our lives miserable. owells. and my sectionmate has already lost over $1000 on the 1st week alone. OMG he's like PMSing everyday. i cant imagine what will happen if he continues to lose.
so the moral of the story: pls dont bet on world cup. cus it's pretty obvious that everyone loses and only the bookie wins.
kaixian called me to ask me a math qn which she and her sister couldnt solve. and AH HA I SOLVED IT! I AM SO SO PROUD OF MYSELF! my maths instinct is still with me. lol!

- Eugene can turn his stomach inside out!
- The condom - originally made from eugene - was invented in the early 1500s!
- If your ear itches, this means that someone is talking about eugene.
- A thimbleful of eugene would weigh over 100 million tons!
- Eugene is worth his weight in gold - literally.
- Long ago, the people of Nicaragua believed that if they threw eugene into a volcano it would stop erupting.
- Eugene is black with white stripes, not white with black stripes.
- Eugene can drink over 25 gallons of water at a time.
- While sleeping, fifteen percent of men snore, and ten percent grind their eugene.
- There are roughly 10,000 man-made objects the size of eugene orbiting the Earth.
lol. i invented the condom.

the 2 weeks in STW has been characterised by loads of running, "knock it down!"s and not forgetting the showcase of inefficiencies in the organisation. besides this there's this very naggy and irritating staff (whom i shall not name as it is a chargeable offence blah blah blah) who is the best example of time-wasting (for example what is supposed to be a 15min RO becomes a 1.5 hr RO all thanks to him). which makes life in STW quite sians. the planning of admin stuff inside is not very effective and trainees waste alot of time and effort trying to get things done.
otherwise life is still pretty ok as for now. our bunks are pretty cosy (they are even smaller than the bmt bunks! like wth) which allows more interaction among the section and less segregation as compared to the sispec bunk. and my section mates are all very humourous. 3 of us were from golf (and we will lament how sucky this place is and how heaven-like golf is) and 3 of us were from charlie (and they will ALSO lament how sucky this place is and how heaven-like charlie is. YES THEY THINK CHARLIE IS HEAVEN. SO NOW U KNOW HOW HORRIBLE THIS PLACE IS). all of us know very well how to chaokeng. like my bed buddy! who has broken the record of seeing the MO 2 times in 9 days! woohoo! and on the extreme end there's this regular who is super sia and enthu about doing things. what to do he's a regular and he has to wayang like everyday. ohwells.
my platoon is quite alright. i know alot of pple inside le. cus 4 of us were from the same platoon back in golf. haha and my course (AISL CSE) is also filled with my golf platoonmates. like erm.. 14 of us are inside? and tan hsien yeow got into tankie! ARGH. i see jason inside... MORTAR. slack place loh mortar. unlike armoured infantry. gahh. shall stop before i start ranting non-stop again.
lessons till now are quite fun. i like the NSF sgts. they are nice and patient with us. unlike the regulars who bark at us like dogs when we get things wrong. like hello we need time to strip at 112.7kg bushmaster cannon right! walao scold somemore. scold until our cpl rank signifies nothing at all.. BLEHS
nothing much to update. not really looking forward to driving my 2MT thanks to my psycho-motor skills (or the lack of it). haha
oh i just took a quiz.

Which File Extension are You?wow im useful to all... hm this makes me sound like a universal screwdriver or sth. LOL

argh.. why did england only win 1 - 0? confirm off-form lah.. sigh england's like nothing without rooney lah. now the main thing is to pray damn hard that rooney will heal in time for the following matches. well luckily sweden was held 0 - 0 by trinidad and tobago thanks to an inspirational shaka hislop! woohoo that means england is the top of the table.. but they need to work harder and be more creative in the following matches.. esp against sweden. and stop relying too much on rooney...
anyway. that wasnt the main thing in today's entry.
i had a dream. it was a simple dream - a 04s64 gathering. i couldnt remember where it was held. but i could remember who went.. it was almost full-house apart from some people who couldnt make it due to other commitments. it was a simple dinner at the restaurant; we ordered alot of foods and we talked as we ate. if i remembered clearly i was eating chicken wing nonstop.. and chew was beside me niaoing abt how f*cked up my armour life would be and i would rebutt every 5 mins (after i finished eating 1 chicken wing :P). most of the girls had their hairs highlighted or dyed.. they look more wild and chio in their makeup and flashy clothes.. 1 of the girls even brought her bf over for the dinner and introduced him to us. gtan was there too. with her husband and daughter.
we ate and talked for quite a while. after that we went to have a long stroll along the esplanade. along the singapore river. and we started to talk about the days in hwachong. about how we would play cards in the class bench and how sherman, liangjian, william and yimin would pon lectures to chill out in the fishtank. about how we would play vball in the hols and in the court after school. there was alot of stuffs which we talked about.. i cant remember everything.
we stayed along the singapore river throughout the night. until the sun rose. everyone was happy and we took a class photo before everyone left. that was when i woke up - at 1030am. i slept at around 11pm and i didnt wake up in between. which means that it was a super long dream.. which lasted for almost 12 hours.
the dream seemed so real. everything felt so real. everyone felt so real. even the chicken wings felt real (yes i cant forget that i was always eating chicken wings inside my dream :D). and i didnt want to get out of it.
people say that dreams are reflections of thoughts in one's mind. i absolutely agree. moral of the story: i miss the class very much. so much so that i yearn to see everyone soon. so much so that my mind is giving me hints to call for a class outing soon :D
it's quite sad to realise that i cant go for MAF thanks to AISL training in taiwan. oh sighs what can i say. ARMY and AISL are two 4-lettered words. i think i shant go on ranting and cursing on how f*cked up my course is. how freaking long the 17 weeks seem. so i guess i shall stop here.
pls. let me stay in the dreamland.

argh this blog entry is gonna make me so emotional. so much so that i can already feel it beneath my bones before i start blogging.
yup it's kinda late but i really want to congratulate the juniors on the success of their concert! it felt great to go back to SCH and listen to them perform their pieces. and the moment i stepped into SCH it felt like a HCCO gathering... with loads of people from our batch and the senior batches. it felt like home once again! met up with the guanyue peeps for dinner and hey the seniors are going to ORD soon. damn i still have like 1 year plus to serve.. zzZ
ok back to the concert. it was not bad.. well i dont think i can say anything much having detached from CO for quite a while. but i can feel the effort putting in and somehow their concert reminded me of our own TLHY.. when the juniors went up on stage everyone started to cheer and shout for them.. just like how our seniors used to cheer and applaud for us when we performed. the 1st half of the concert was ok.. it wasnt that impressive but still nice to the ears :) the 2 dazu songs were those familiar ones which the senior batch practised for syf. some minor flaws during song ge bah. guess it's either that they were too nervous or that the song sucks. that's why we didnt bother to use it for SYF. yes the song sucks. lol.. mengdie was sweet. as the song was played, images of how we worked hard for syf and got our honours flashed inside my head again. on how wei used to drill the suona pple on our bar 55. yes the famous bar 55. on how he emphasised on the smooth-flowing dizis on bar 23 . on how we practised all the kuai ban and the xiao kuai ban..
and the juniors played it just like what wei wanted them to. it seems like mengdie was becoming wei's very own masterpiece.
anyway, chris n co did it the way wei wanted them to! :D was so proud of them when they played it. was waiting for that moment to come once mengdie started. the high and loud shrieks of the suonas really sounded so.... shocking. just the way i like it! GOOD JOB!
the 2nd half of the song was mainly xiaozu songs (which i didnt enjoy as much as the dazu songs. mainly because there was no chuida song! ARGH screw wei).. but the highlight of the 2nd half and the concert was of course. xi bei! haha.. it's phenomenal. i have to agree with bong.. it's amazing that they actually to perform this difficult piece by tan dun to a standard that is much above a concert-level. well done guys! and kudos to chris n co again. you have proven to everyone and more importantly, yourselves, that hcco suonas is a force not to be reckoned with. and yes you have surpassed all yr seniors.. well done! (oops jiankai). got super duper high by the time they played the 4th movement. the fast movement of the orchestra really lifted the spirits of the audience uP! and high!! and the concert ended off with the familiar tune of da chang jing.. i found it so -__- that my own juniors were doing waving stupidly when they were zorboring.. so lame lah. but well.. what a way to end the concert :) well done!
of course.. photos!

where's chris?

my dearest guanyue juniors with my seniors and my batchmates. i wonder what we were shouting when the photo was taken.. if im not wrong it was "jiankai sucks!" or something along that line.
i really miss the times that i could go on stage as a performer, play and enjoy the concerts at the same time. i miss the days of long practices where the suona pple could just stone at the back and do their own stuffs and have fun at the same time. i miss all the fenzus and xiaozus where everyone would shout "kapo" at me whenever i told them to do this and do that. i miss all the juniors and seniors too. i miss the dinner gang/party/group..
i miss hcco. argh.
well it's time to move on, but somewhere in my mind i wish that i would continue to live in this dreamland of my own and never come back to reality. aka my hell in sungei gedong camp.

and so i watched X men 3: the last stand.
and guess who i watched with? yea. me desperate already.. actually got my bro to accompany me to watch. eh wait it's the other way round.. my bro has been begging me to bring him to watch the movie. ahh whatever u call it. and he's so irritating throughout the whole movie! argh! he kept asking me what would happen next when me myself also doesnt know cus we were watching the movie together! and then he would suddenly ask me what is this and what is that and i had to explain the movie to him.. couldnt enjoy the movie fully. sighs that's what happens when u bring a 12-year old kid to the movies. BLAH
other than that.. the movie was not bad. but then there was insufficient fighting scenes leh.. probably because of that powerful jean grey who just needed a STARE and -poof- it became coco crunch! lol.. so 1 stare and dunno how many thousands of mutants + non-mutants died. so basically there wasnt much job for the Xmen to do. lol..
but the last scene touched me. it nearly made me cry. (the word is NEARLY :P) when wolverine went to his lover and killed her bcus he loved her... OH MAN.. ok lah it's abit cliche but hey! it certainly moved my heart.. logan was so wei3 da4..
and hey hey! the diplomat stole the limelight during the fighting scene. he's just so cool lah woohoo~
ok getting high le. must siam now. i m late for this NUS science fac talk thingy le. yups im admitted to NUS science fac. and yes.. i blew up my MOE scholarship. so im going to attend the talk to see what other job prospects i hav if i study in NUS science fac. tata! hope there are other paths apart from teaching..

btw im not as depressed as you think i am. just that the thought of going to ATI is super sianifying. owells.
