Nottinghill Carnival, Sponge cake+ chocolate tart

Nottinghill Carnival.. This day I go to see this carnival is actually an accident. This morning I am went to deal with some matter with TP, and Pakcik ask me whether to go to this carnival, and well, since I am already outside, so I join him to the carnival.

I ask, what is the carnival about? A celebration or something? no answer, and even after we came back from the carnival, I still don’t know what the carnival is about. For me, it is a night club big parade, didn’t really enjoy it, crowded and.. boring

Anyway, didn’t regret going, it is an experience, and I always welcome new experience and I absorb them all.

This following is a very nice composition:

After the parade, we went to Chinatown for lunch.. this M&M place we never visit yet, so, lets go!

The day is too young still to call for an end, so we call up Herc and, lets do some baking. lol! wohoo!

This is chocolate tart, by Pakcik with all the chocolate from our brownies chocolate reservoir: looks nice, taste even better, especially with cream and berries, as shown in the following photograph.

Chocolate tart is rather easy, no need to bake, just refrigerate.. see TP is flattening the chocolate layer on to the biscuit

Ops, the cake.. well, i intended to take photo when it is still fresh before we cut it.. what to do, how can i resist the fresh bake cake, 雞蛋糕, 蛋糕飄香, 我... 如何自制.. that’s why：it is already the best i can do.. lol

My hair is a mess the whole day, it is just a accident, surprise outing and i didn't get to do any makeup at all, anyway, by the time i am typing this post, I had a new haircut, and.. :) it is awesome.. lol

Apple Pie II

I am going to bored every who read with repeating content.. today topic, is apple pie II

Pakcik summon for me for another apple pie baking because the previous week PYO, he has bought some apple for the pie baking, so there goes.

The left pie is lesser cinnamon, the right one with more cinnamon. Pakcik say I have to eat less cinnamon cause he say cinnamon actually have the aphrodisiac effect (I actually google translate to get this term, Aphrodisiac? wow, so sophisticated, it actually means increase one sexual desires), so he say I have to eat less because I am gatal enough..

So, we purposely make a pie with less cinnamon? nah, because TP don’t really like cinnamon, I think is also because she is gatal enough.

For people who desire to know whats inside the pastry:

This pie was fine, but, the apple is sour.. and it makes the pie sour. We buy cooking apple, and we should use our normal eating apple next time, we have this post mortem after the baking session when we are eating.

Then we put icing sugar on top, and, at first we put some as deco, then we put more to sweeten the pie, neutralize the sour.. then we put more and more, it end up like christmas..

we make a very thin crust..

Surprisingly, the sourness reduced dramatically the next day.. maybe is because of the refrigerator? after the cooling, the sourness disappear.. it is awesome suddenly..

PYO–pick your own

Is Saturday, lets take a break (ya, I know, I have plenty of breaks), anyway, it is still a weekend.. lets get to the nature and have some nature green activity.

(while I am heading out from my building, I met a somebody, and he ask me where I am going, and I entertain him without sincerity, and tell him I am heading to a farm, and he ask me: oh, really? I thought your dissertation haven’t yet complete….

…… erm.. in my head: erm.. so, ..erm, I should be like, oh shit! then head back to my room and start working on my homework? I am heading out, can’t you say something like enjoy the day?

anyway, he didn’t ruin my day..

This is my first pick! a victoria plum! is ripe! The rule say do not eat before weighing, but, we are allow to taste it before we pick? isn’t it a bit contradicting? if I doubt, that every tree in the farm, have different taste, then I can taste every tree’s fruits!

whatever it is, I can’t resist, so.. eat!

and pui.. spit the seed (I wonder should I credit to TP who capturing the crime scene of me keep eating the plum)

然後! 我可以上演一出'拔蘿蔔' 戲碼, 不過是蔥, 不是蘿蔔!

hehe, is onion! (is a pretend ofcuz, the onion is already being pull out and placed on the floor)

tadah! then is my favorite, the strawberry! we split up and pick own own strawberry, and look! this is our result! and I had labeled them.. … oh, TP, please be serious!

and the strawberry are awesomely tasty.. pick one, put in the mouth, chew, and the eye pop out and say, EH!!! omg ! so good! I shout to them, taste it!

they shout back, already ate! you too late..

cheh, then we…. seriously doubt that every tree have the same awesome taste and I then confirmed, yes, every tree taste equally good..  I ate so much.

Apples: Pakcik is holding a .. erm.. I forgot the breed of the apple, anyway, it is a cooking apple, he say he is going to make apple pie with it.. and I am holding another species.. it taste good! I ate one, and…. all of us ate one, for tasting ofcuz, and we didn’t buy any.. it is good, just wasn’t that good …

There have many other things too! look at the board:

it was a nice day! I like it.. the weather have been kind, not a big sunshine and no rain. pleasant

The sunflower yesterday was captured by me, and I capture 2 bees on it, and the following was captured by pakcik, and…. it is a fly.

Anyway, in our photo viewing together, this bees and fly make a good joke and thus, I edit this photo and post it as the ending of this blog. :D

Custard Cream PUFF

The latest baking project is cream puff..

hahaha, I put a little big too much salt, and pakcik put too little sugar, and makes this custard filling less sweet and the pastry a little salty. but! in general, it is another success, and it is taste good.

Baking and sports

Lately, London is pretty chaotic due to the riot, and I am fine and everyone I know is fine.

It is a riot, it doesn’t need to have a clear motive or objectives. Anyway, since so, we are advise not to play outside, so, we play indoor, play in uni.

I play badminton, I bake.. I am addicted in playing badminton lately. I always like playing badminton, but I never like group sports(this is a conflict statement, I know).  group sport which involve asking people to play with you, if you don’t get people who fancy playing like you do, you end up begging them to play with you, which is totally crap..

or! maybe you end up with no one playing with you, then you are craving and so wanting to play and you get no one and you just can’t play it on your own! or you end up having a group of people you never really like playing with you.. ish, I never like group sport. But, gratefully, our team is formed by 4 people, and I happen to like them all, and all of them happen to fancy playing like I do~ no problem so far. thus, I am addicted.

and! there are other teams playing in the same hall, I get to know new people, team up with new people, and playing against new people.. I like that! it is like one night stand.. play and run. lol

anyway, I should get a photographs of all the badminton kaki asap before they are gone (or I am gone)

besides badminton, another activity is baking. I’ve shown the picture of brownies, and this week bakery is: apply pie.

 I would say for project brownies I am one of the chef, because it wasn’t my first time, I participate and we argue on the methods… but apple pie, I would say I am only the assistant. ;)

it was fun! actually my job is just peeling off the apple skin and de-stoned the nectarine, and assisting the chef, mr Pakcik:

When we are done (we do 2 trays), we summon several people to come and taste our result… and it is awesome!

haha, I just can’t take more picture on food, I normally start eating immediately when I see them, I get to take the picture of the chef and me and my fren with the pie is because we have 2 trays, the first tray is always in my stomach.

totally enjoying baking, more than eating.. and seeing people like it, and we are like fishing compliments and gratitude… it is just feeling so good.

I like social…I like to know new people! (I can’t believe I said something like this, lol), I anti social too, people is a complex body. shrug

 

Brownies Class (maybe) last gathering

I play harder and harder everyday, if I work on my dissertation as hard as I play, I am going to get distinction. Anyway, it is different thing, you eat a lot doesn’t means you drink a lot…

talking about eating, I bake.. we bake.. Brownies. One of my fren left UK for good and give me all his tools and ingredient of baking as my souvenir, I miss him so I  disperse the feeling of loss of such good fren here in uk by fully utilizing the souvenir he give me to my other friends… giving and distributing all the brownies we bake to many people, and everyone feel the love.

oh, it is late in the night, I am so oily, dirty and sleepy until I have big small eye.

And! another thing is, my new hair cut, is by my fren ~:) and actually by me as well, I buy the hair shaver, and both of us play it together. First time shaving my own hair, is kinda fun actually. Sometimes I curious where all my confident come from, but well, if an artist is afraid what he paint might be ugly, how can he even start to paint..

Isn’t it a lot!? hahaha, 3 big tray of brownies.. I actually enjoying baking more than eating.

Eastpak, I like this brand. The image and reputation… and this is what the branding student is studying, the brand. What you feel about this brand and makes consumer prefer your brand even your product might be identical with the other brand.

We have this class reunion dinner, and it is organize by our Turkish classmate, and as for me, most of these event I will not participate, but, it might be the last, and I really wish to print all their faces and carve them in my memory.. or with the assistant of camera. But turn out, most of the participant is not our class mate, but the classmates’ friends, or housemate.. weird.

out of theme, where is all the other classmate. Anyway, is another practice of social skill..

I only post our own photo, I didn’t manage to capture any group photo with my camera, because there are around 7 cameras in that dinner, everyone use their own camera. During group photo, the camera man is taking our group photos, again and again and again and again and again with different camera.

so, I think I can just collect the photo from them later.

Is a Saturday night, mid night actually, when we go back to university. Is Saturday night, it is the time where London street is full with drunken crazy people.. We see people sleeping on the floor, on the floor of the train, some with some really awkward posture (sober people just won’t do that), and people is playing the train assistance by asking everyone where they are going and guide them to the right path (including us)..

and this crazy people while we are waiting for a cab, approach us and put his hand over my friends shoulder and ask him to teach him martial art then start doing the Bruce lee thing, and start to poke my fren like acupuncture… insist my friend to teach him.. –.-

I step up and say, we are not from China (assuming then he will lost interest in us), then he walk towards me, and held my face and say I am pretty and tends to kiss me, I jerk off backwards escape from his hand… ew…

nah, is not scary.. because of the law, the UK law. I am safe with the law protection. Unlike other country, you don’t know you will be protected by the law or not. But in UK, London I will be. If he did anything more, he will be in deep shit problem, even they are drunk, they know the consequences of assaulting me. Never really want to compliments the so call developed country, but, is true… I am just safe.

Cornwall

又又又又又又.....偷閒, 跑去玩, 去cornwall, Cornwall is on the southern part of England.. A very peaceful and beautiful place

The tourist spot scattered very far away from each other, and there is no free tour, and thus, no one explaining history and telling me stories.. and there is not much places we can go.

It is 3 day 2 night trip.. so, there goes:

This is our first spot, the Minack Theatre

The beach, the color of the sea is awesome. The following is the theatre. We watch a show (3/4 of a show) there, it is about 3 prince fighting for the throne. The story is alright, but…

But, it is summer… and so, we dress up like summer:

see, I wear a collar T, nice, casual… but look at the others, the people around us obviously don’t understand what it means by summer, they dress up like it is winter…wahahahaha…

(no, I actually don’t think that, when we see people walk into the theatre with blanket and winter cloths and jacket, we are like, oh shit…)

and yes, is shit, that’s why I can manage to watch 3/4 of the show, because when the sun goes down, I am already shivering and shaking… the sea wind is like thunder strike.. and so, we ran away, yes, we run.

we run and some of the people who leave with us watch us run and laugh at us..ish! Then I roar up to the sky and take off my tshirt.. (yes, I did, I take off my collar T, only left with my undershirt)

The second day itinerary is the land’s end: another awesome scenery 

We play lots of photographs.. it is really a nice place and nice weather. Sunshine!!! yay!

Since it is a sunshine day, we arrange the itinerary to have sunshine beach!

hehe, ya, it is nice.. but, we didn’t get to play in the beach.

The 3rd day, is the legendary, St Michael Mount:

As I’ve said, no free tour and no one tell me about this place history, all I know is just it is so pretty, and it is a island at high tide and there is a path way at low tide. The picture above show the tide is rising, some of the people in the path already soaking their feet in the water.. wow..(by the time we already left the place)

Before, the high tide, we get to play a bit in the beach.. sandy beach..

and so, this is a simple blog about a trip of my weekend, and at the end of the weekend, the july and slipped away, carried away by the August.

I may upload more photographs of this trip it is a very nice trip.  oh, and, they are Taiwanese.
