Summer Adventure #3 - Day 2

The trials were AMAZING! We got there around 9:00 in the morning, hoping to see some swimmers come in. There weren't very many that we recognized in the morning session, so we made our way back over there that afternoon. We were able to see Michael Phelps, Nathan Adrian, Missy Franklin and Katie Ledecky. We were also able to witness Michael Phelps swim his last race on US soil, which was pretty cool. He ended up winning the butterfly....awesome! They had a swim experience that you could go to between prelims and finals. The girls loved doing the log rolling and "racing Michael Phelps." There were a few of the bigger jet tubs that MP swims in for training. They turn them way up and he is able to swim in that pool for 12 minutes at a time. K raced for 16 seconds and Lo made it 5! It was pretty neat to watch. Fun memories!!
Getting autographs from Olympic silver medalist Clark Burckle. He swam the 200 m breastroke.
 Missy Franklin!
 Michael Phelps
Kaitlyn patiently waiting for more swimmers to come out of the elevator!
 Nathan Adrian.....wow!

Summer Adventure #3 - Day 1

Pappy bought Kaitlyn a ticket to the Olympic swimming trials for her birthday in Omaha, NE. We went up there on a Thursday and visited the famous Henry Doorly Zoo first. They loved the aquarium. There is a new part to the zoo (Alaskan Adventure) that is a huge spray park. We visited this at the end of the zoo, so they didn't stay and play too long, but it was very neat! Of course, you can't go to a hotel without swimming in the hotel pool. That is their favorite part of traveling, I believe:) We finished our evening eating at a very small burger joint, called Stellas. The most amazing burgers ever!!
