Hey hey, i'm back to seremban again!!
is it exciting?not at all...
but i sound excited, right?(yES)
why?
juzt to motivate myself. if not, how i'm gonna spent my 10 weeks here.
Me n one of my fren, maria have been posted to labor ward. The most interesting ward n yet critical. Seniors, preceptors, lecturer, they all advise us to be really cautious with the nurses there, as they will be very strict to us n will be yelling here n there since they always in tension, dealing with two lives.
THerefore, in my mind, i was like preparing myself to be scolded..
Every of my other friends are so happy n keen to be in their specialize ward. but Me..Ya, i'm looking forward to it too, but at the same time i'm STRESS!!!!!
Anyway, the first day in labour room, is so different from what i think. Staff nurses at there are kind n they r not as tension as i thought. They work in a peaceful pace that make u feel they r calm in it. Creating a peaceful environment for u to learn. kakaka...
N this time, my new preceptor is a really great person. Help us to bulid rapport with the staff nurses there, n stimulate us to learn more. She let us know what we should know. for example, she told us the role of staff nurse in charge in the ward. She said, in the future, u might one day be a staff nurse in charge n u ll need to know everything happen in da ward in ur fingertip.
Besides my own objective being a student nurse, I would always like to know what should i anticipate when i started to work. thank you~!
herm, what i like bout labor ward, is da newborns!!
da babies are so cute n so small, n i have a "chong dong" to squeeze them in my hand. *evil me*
when u touch baby feet, their skin, it's "waoh!".. if i hav this type of skin, i can hav saved lots of money for my moisturizer!!
mama part, is kinda scary part. Episiotomy is scary to me. imagine u hav a deep cut on ur skin, n this ad so painful. while this happen in ur vagina, n at da sametime u doing da most painful thing in da world(delivery), me as an outsider n observer, i also feel da pain for the mother. i know they hav analgesics but it's painful to see..i like baby, but i dunwant to give birth, i dun want EPISIOTOMY!!!!!
Besides, i have seen 23 delivery for my four days in labour ward. This gave me a clear picture of how a labor process look like. It more alike da same like what i have learnt from books n lecturers. da placenta, da mother phsiological adaption after delivery, da crowning, da baby, da bloody show, da pushing...etc
IN conCLudsion~ not bad~!i enjoy it!
