Christmas at Our Home

Our kitchen table.

We looked every where for the wreath I made and used on the front door last year. But we never found it. It's a mystery! I really like this one better. This is what I've had in mind for the last couple of years. I had several of the balls put back and my mom bought me many more, and this is what we came up with. All of the colors really stand out against the wood door and it looks bright from the road.

Our fireplace. The only things I added this year are the nutcrackers. They belong to my mom and she wasn't using them (Jack has been into nutcrackers this year), so she loaned them to us. At first, Jack referred to them as nutcrackers. Now he calls them scarecrows.

Our tree. Yes, I've bought presents, I just haven't been brave enough to put the out yet. They would worry Jack to death. He would move them around and talk about them ALL DAY!!

Our coffee table.

Our buffet.

I have a garland going around the opening between our dining area and foyer. It's hard to get a good picture of it all, so I thought I would hit the highlights. This is the center point.

And one of the sides.

Our Mississippi State table.

The bookcase outside of Jack's room. His room is all decorated. That is for another post (hopefully to come soon).

My china cabinet.

Side table.

A book case in our room. And a wonderful art project Jack worked on last week.

And a couple of our past Christmas cards. That's about it, with the exception of Jack's room and two crafty projects I hope to post about later. I really wanted to get these pictures on our blog before Easter. I hope to write a post about Jack's birthday last week BEFORE he turns 4 next year!!

Scenes From Fall

I'm so behind on our blog. I'm trying really hard to get caught up because I'm ready to start posting Christmas pictures. It's only the 5th day of December and you would not believe how many Christmas pictures we have already taken. So this post is all about shots of Fall 2011!

Pinterest is going to be my down fall!! I spend so much time on this website at night, after Jack goes to bed. John knows how happy it makes me, but I'm not sure he likes me bugging him with every little thing I find. It is a crafty person's dream!! Someone pinned these pillows several months ago, so I enlisted my mother's help... And here they are. We used painter's drop cloth and craft paint. The drop cloth held up very well outside.

I know, don't you love how I turned my urns upside down to make stands for our Jack-O-Lanterns? It's all I can come up with. Thankfully, you can't make out the stands from the road. (Especially if you drive by really fast!!)

We had Thanksgiving Day lunch with John's parents. As usual, Jack was the first one to the table!

The Fall decorations were beautiful.

Everything was beautiful and festive. And we all ate toooo much delicious food. Mrs. Branscome did all of the cooking and that was a big job. Everyone, but Jack, expects turkey on Thanksgiving. ANYTIME Jack eats at the Branscome's, or BB and food are mentioned in the same sentence, he has to have BB's ham. When ham is mentioned he always says, "UMMMM, BB's ham". It is really good ham!!

Eating before anyone else has a chance to get to the table!

More Halloween

In my haste to edit the "Halloween 2011" post, I accidentally deleted four very special pictures.
Our very first stop was to see Daddy Todd and Lady (Todd and Karen McLemore). Their house is magic to Jack. He loves going over there. He loves going to their carport door, when they are not home, ringing the door bell a few times, and making their dog bark. We do this a lot. Poor Tippy!! Their daughter, Diana, is Jack's big crush. He asks me two or three times a day, "What Diana doing, momma?". I tell him she is away at college, going to class with her friends. One day we rode by their house and he said, "I never do see Diana". But when he is around her, he gets so teased!

After a couple of more stops in our neighborhood, we loaded the wagon and headed to BB & GrandDaddy's. They have a great "Trick or Treat" neighborhood. BB was so excited to see Woody at her back door.

And GrandDaddy had to give his littlest cowboy a hug!! This year's Halloween was a success!!

Halloween 2011

This year for Halloween, we went dressed as...

you guessed it - WOODY!! I found his costume while shopping in Jackson mid- September. I knew not to let him see it until closer to Halloween. And boy was that a good call!! I pulled it out the week before Halloween to make sure it fit and he went crazy over it. For the next four weeks, he wore it everyday, every where we went. He has slacked off a bit lately. Now he wears it three or four times a week. He always wears it to Wal-Mart because that's where we see the most people and where he gets the most compliments. Several people have asked me if it bothers me that he is still wearing it in public so much. And the answer is NO!! I think it's adorable. It makes him happy to wear it and that makes me happy. I have been making him wear a long sleeve t-shirt under it on cold days. That took some talking him into, but he realized it was the only way I was going to continue letting him wear it.

Halloween was so much fun this year because he was really into the whole "Trick or Treat". And it paid off for him, he not only got candy, he walked away with a dvd, stickers and lots of special treats.

And he rode in style!

After hitting up our neighborhood, we loaded the wagon in John's truck and went to BB's. While there, we met up with Sara Brooke and Austin!!

Cousins!!

We made our way to Dr. Bobby and Mrs. Linda's house.

And our final stop of the night was to load up at Uncle Hayes and Aunt Martha Faye's.

The weekend before Halloween, Jack wanted to wear his costume outside. So we thought that would be a good chance to get a few pictures. John was teaching him to "tip" his hat to the ladies. He got a big kick out of it and got a little carried away.

And every cowboy needs a horse!

What's Up Jack?

At our house we are very thankful for the nice, cooler days we've had here and there this month. And on those days, we take advantage of the great outdoors. The three of us went to the park one day. Jack had a blast. For the first hour we were the only ones on the playground. There were other people playing tennis near by, but we had the playground all to ourselves.

Happy Face!!

A couple of weeks ago, the fire truck came to visit Jack's preschool. It came on a Wednesday morning and Jack's class is Tuesday and Thursday mornings. But the school was nice enough to invite the two year old class and their moms. We are so glad they did because Jack LOVES fire trucks!

And this is me fooling around with Print Shop. I took an already adorable picture of Jack and added the nose and glasses. He gets such a kick out of this picture.

And of course you know I had to show a few pictures of our chunky monkey!! Nicole said Santa did not make that big of an impression on Harrison. Just wait until he's a little older.

Ummmm, are we about done here?

I may have to look at the camera, but I don't have to smile.

That face!! Stay tuned, we are very excited about Trick or Treating this year. We've already been wearing our costume (everyday). I have a lot of cute pictures.
