Splash Park Fun

One of the things we love about New Albany is the awesome splash park. Jack loves the water.  I love the way the entire operation is set up. No kids over 12! No child is allowed to be there without an adult and the adult has to stay inside the iron fence with the child the entire time.  It's open from 12:00pm until 6:00pm, but it operates in 2 hour sessions.  You pay $4.00 (for the child only) to get in at either 12, 2, or 4. You can't get in at like 12:30, 1:45, etc... And only 40 children at a time.  Now 2 or 3 adults can come with a child, but since adults can't play on the structures, they don't limit us.  So the children aren't overly crowded.  When the 2 hour session is over, they turn everything off and give you a few minutes to get out and a minute or two for the next group to get in.  If you went for the first session and want to stay for another session, you have to go outside the gate, get at the back of the line and pay another $4.  And if you get to the gate and they already have 40 children, you're just out!  And there is usually a line.  You have to get there about 20 minutes before a new session starts because those 40 kids line up really fast!!  I know it sounds complicated, but it really runs well.  And they have 4 certified life guards there at all times.  However, there's only one pool of water at the bottom of the slide that's only a foot or two deep.  But it's still nice knowing they're there helping to keep an extra eye on our little ones. Oh, Jack wants me to tell y'all that you can get a hotdog, chips and drink for $3 and a snow cone for $2!!  As you will be able to see in the pictures below, Jack is crazy about the slide.  NO FEAR!!  And by the end of today, he was going down the slide 2 at a time, usually with a little girl.  He was thrilled!!

And I thought I would leave you with this lovely image.  You're Welcome!!  Some people are really comfortable with their bodies, but that doesn't always mean we're comfortable with their bodies!!

PS - I rely heavily on spell check when writing a post, but tonight my spell check isn't showing up.  Please excuse any and all mistakes.  I'm tired!!

Sights of Summer

Summer is in full swing around here.  We've been so busy and it's going by so fast.  We've been busy with T-Ball, Vacation Bible School, and getting ready for Harrison's 2nd Birthday Party.  Since Nicole and family just moved to Alabama, we offered to have H's b-day party here so all of their Tupelo family and friends could help them celebrate.  It was so cute!  Nicole did such a good job.  I'll do a post on the big event in the next day or two.  Having the party here really gave us that final push to finish up our outside projects.  Thankfully, my parents came up a couple of days before and really helped us out.
Here are a few summer snapshots.

 First t-ball game!!

Cooling off on a hot day while mom and dad do a little yard work.

This boy is so silly!  He keeps us rolling with the crazy things he says and does.

This is Bailey!  Ohhhh Bailey!  She is our next door neighbor.  She is probably the cutest little girl we have ever laid eyes on.  So sweet, so funny, and Jack is crazy about her.  We have a row of hedges that seperate our backyards.  Bailey's mom and I have plans for our hubbys to cut us a path way through the bushes to make passing from one house to the other easier.  Anyway, Jack and Bailey love to stand at the hedge and talk to each other.  They hold hands.  Jack would follow her anywhere.  They are so cute together.  Thankfully, they are the same age and will be in school together.  Her family is so sweet and we are so lucky to have them as next door neighbors.

Bailey plays on an opposing t-ball team.  We played against them a week or so ago and Jack told me to be sure to get some pictures of her.  She's a very good little t-ball player.  Jack is so-so about t-ball.  But he loves the girls that he's been able to meet at the ball park.  He's made a few girl friends this summer.  Now, with the t-ball season coming to a close, he is wanting us to buy these girls gifts and put them in pink bags for him to give out!  We may be in trouble!!!

We attend First Baptist Church of New Albany and love it!  We feel comfortable there.  I helped with Bible school a couple of weeks ago and Jack attended.  He LOVED it!!  I have not seen him this excited about anything in a long time.  He was so upset Monday when he woke up and found out VBS was over until next summer.  All week he played VBS, which was so much fun for me to listen to, because it gave me a window into his week.  I'm so thankfull to be seeing Jack develope a heart for Jesus.  It's all we care about.  We could care less about sports. We want him to do his very best in school, but if he is a B student, we're fine with that.  We just want him to live in and for Jesus everyday.

Friday night we had our closing program.  Jack was in heaven being up in front of so any people.
He's not shy!!
He even went as far as showing a little skin.  For a minute or two, the packed church got a good showing of his entire stomach and chest area.  Why?  We have no idea.

I have many more pictures to post, but that's it for tonight.  I can't wait to show you H's 2nd B-Day party.  It was adorable and Jack was the perfect host.  I think he may have had more fun than the birthday boy.  And yes, his sweet girl friend Bailey came.  He was over the moon.  Pictures coming soon.

T-Ball 2013

Get ready for t-ball picture overload.  I promised my mom I would try to get these on the blog today.  I have a lot of pictures I need to post.  We have had so much going on since we moved here.  We are always going and doing.  I'm always taking pictures, but have very little time to sit and actually post them.  I'm going to try to get caught up.  We started t-ball last week and Jack LOVES it.  I don't know if it's the game as much as getting to play with the kids.  John and I were talking the other night about the enormous change we have seen in Jack since we moved to New Albany.  This move has been the best thing that could have ever happened to the three of us.  We love it here and are so happy.  Jack is like a different child.  He is a social butterfly.  This was our second practice.  Our actual games start in May.  John is helping coach and having as much fun as Jack.  These kids are so funny.  The boys are all over the place and the girls are very serious about the game.  And those girls can hit that ball!!  Here are a few pictures from last night's practice.  ENJOY!!
