These are the photos taken during the dinner session with mr ong.
A very nice and special restaurant at Arab street.

It was a eye and "mouth" opener for most of us who were so used to the chinese culture and food.
We saw people along the street smoking water pipes, also known as Hookahs, which i thought was rather interesting.
The smoke has a nice fruity fragrant.
But to think that the Hookah is less harmful than smoke is a serious misconception.
I had this thinking initially.
Well i guess i should learn to judge a "smoke" not by its "smell"
The rating food is very subjective
Those who are receptive to the very different Arabian taste would like it.
But for Ee jia and I, we still prefer the norm
The what-we-call the "wriggly's peppermint chewing gum" tea left me the deepest impression.
There were also this very weird brinjal in yogurt which i dint dare to try and vanessa hid it under the table. lol

Had lots of fun that day catching up with the rest and to dine with our beloved
ongieLittle do i expect that teachers can still dine around with us after A levels
Haha.. he is really special.

Hotaru no haka

Ponyo on a Cliff by the Sea will be screened on 1 jan :)
But this time round i have been told that the story plot will be less of a fantasy and more light-hearted as compared to Hayao Miyazaki's 2nd last animated film
Spirited Away.

Haha regardless of what, expectations still runs high.
Woohoo cant wait.
Seok Wei is going crazy over animes again.
In my attempt to search for a nice anime to try to satisfy my insatiable craving (huh?), i came across this film Grave of the Fireflies on youtube out of a random chance.

"Grave of the Fireflies (火垂るの墓) is a 1988 animated film written and
directed by Isao Takahata. It is an adaptation of the semi-autobiographical
novel of the same name by Akiyuki Nosaka, intended as a personal apology to the
author's own sister...
...Some critics consider it to be one of the most powerful
anti-war movies ever made."
Adapted from wiki
Cried until like siao after watching the film.
It is awesome in the way that the novelist tactfully used fireflies as a symbolism of death in the movie. Especially death of the children who died early in the war.
Must watch! highly recommended :)

Yi jin and i agreed that our batch theatresporters put up a nicer fight than this year's batch.
Esp our match with wei jun's group(灰色会)was the most unforgetable.
That mouth of his was unbeatable. Kind of admired his wittiness. Wonder how he looks like in NS now. lol.
The facils group vs macau's group was the most interesting.
Secretly took a picture of them on stage. Shhh...
hehe no concert etiquette.

Love this part the most.
A friend told me that she didnt had as much fun this year, partly because her first experience left her too much pleasant memories and led her to expect to find back that kind of feeling this year. I am guilty of this feeling as well. It's like a sense of emptiness and trying to find something to to fill up this emptiness. No matter what i still believe that this year's theatresports did leave you with another few more beautiful pages in your life story
So "lucky" for me to be called on stage. chu chiou le! crap. I still told yi jin, luckily this time audiences round is by lucky draw sure wont tio us. My flithy mouth. Won the limited ed theatresports 2007 dvd. cool :)
Jacky lao shi looks younger by 10years old. Last year he looks like early thirties, this year he looks like early twenties. His actual age? 41.
My godness!!! Still loving him lots. Jacky shuai ge rawks!

i think the policy of banning the playing songs sang in dialect and use of dialects on radio station to let singaporeans speak better chinese is really crappy. Not being able to hear inspiring songs is only a minor thing, there are greater implications that i wonder how come the policy is still sustainable till now.
oh no i should be studying. i should stop talkin

I looked back at my previous post and laugh.
To think that i would cry during graduation day was a big mistake
Sorry but i really dun feel anything today.
(Oh ya, i did cry. The video by the chem teachers were so funny that i laugh until i teared. The Chem department was really great. At least they are one of the most bonded department in the school)
Maybe i am expecting too much..
1. the videos showed at the beginning didnt encompass all the classes.
2. Nanyang JC hall definitely have great sound system and stage lights that are able to build up the atmosphere but it wasnt put into good use.
3. Chairs are set up to create a formal setting, but the ceremony wasnt formal at all.
4. Awards are given out to classes. (Surprisingly my class recieved the Herculean award) But do a title really mean anything? It questioned me to think whether is there a need for all these. Could there be better allocation of the funds to at least create a CD of the memories of a typical NYJCian for everyone of us to bring away?
5. Expected to sing the song school as the grand finale or something. Haha.. dun have. The ceremony abruptedly ended with a teacher saying " NYJCians you are dismissed. You can go down to have your reception. "
6. Speech by the Guest of Honour was mostly about studying methods which i think was a wrong focus? Although still very much appreciated to give us some tips. it's just that i think it wasn't a very right time and occasion.
I seldom write post on such controversial issues. i think i may have wrote this out of a fit of anger and disappointment. Please ignore this post if i have offended anybody. Different people have differing opinions.
Anyway these are the photos for my class to dl:
I will miss studying with my clique

As 10 Oct draws nearer..
Everything is going to come to an end.
There will be no more tutorials, no more lectures, no more lunch breaks.
No more will we be able to feel the vibrance of the school as a nanyang junior college student.
i was chatting with dear dear just now.
She said she dint cry during our graduation back at my 2nd home.
i scolded her for being cold blooded.
i rmbed crying for a long time after the graduation ceremony outside the hall.
(The school was so cruel.
They made us walk down the aisle where the teachers are lined up along the 2 sides)Please dont look at me if you see me crying on friday.
I look really ugly when i cry.
I dont think i will be able to control my emotions..
,6:01 AM
Had a quite a long chat with my beloved chem teacher that day.
Thanks Mr Ong for making us realise that we are living in a world of skewed ideologies. But i think we all understand why you have such philosophies.
To Mr Ong in case you are popping by: As for what you said about students blogging mundane issues, i would have to totally agree with you because that is exactly how i feel about my public blog. But i think that these are ways that we students keep the bits and pieces of our memories. To me, life isnt just living in the present, and planning for the future. It is about living in the past, present and future. Sometimes words arent freely expressed on blogs because of the responsibility that one have to bear, therefore the development of this
style of blogs. Furthermore words that are totally meaningless to one, could mean differently to another.
Anyway to all the students out there, please note that teachers do visit our blogs. Blogs have taken on a life on its own. Do constantly change your blog adds if you are going to gossip about them. :)
