MAY

One of my other hobbies is cross-stitch. About a year ago I posted a cross stitch framed piece that I had done for my sister similar to this, but with a leprechaun on it for the month of March. As I really like these 5 x 5 framed stitched pieces, I decided to make one for myself for each month of the year. I will display a new one each month in a perfect little place on my counter in my new kitchen.

The patterns are designed by Lizzie Kate. I really like each and every one of the 12 patterns for the months of the year. This particular series uses 3 little tiny buttons on each pattern each month. Notice, the 3 little buttons for this month are used as the openings on the front of the birdhouse.  I will share with you, the new one that I make each month until all twelve months are done. I'm finishing up the one for the month of June which needs to be done very soon......  :)

YOU are AMAZING!

My granddaughter, Lily Clara, just celebrated her 7th birthday! She is such a little tomboy and absolutely loves Spiderman.  She asked me if I would make her a Spiderman card for her birthday and I had no clue what I would come up with! I know there are some great Spiderman cards made using punches, but I didn't have all the various punches needed to make them.  Then I received an advertising circular in the mail with Spiderman on it..... I knew right away he was going to become part of Lily's birthday card. Needless to say, I was relieved being able to recycle my junk mail into my granddaughters birthday card!  :)

I used Brilliant Blue cardstock and ink by Stampin' UP. I did some fussy cutting on the image and used both the medium and small classic style snap-stamps by Karen Foster.

This is how the inside of the card came out...

 HAPPY 7th BIRTHDAY LILY!
YOU are AMAZING!!

HOLY FIRST COMMUNION

My oldest granddaughter, Luchia Angelina, made her First Communion this morning. It was a nice warm day and everything from start to finish, went perfectly for this joyous occasion.

This is the card I made for Luchia (Lucy). Purple is her favorite color so I only used purple and white on her card.

The paper and ink is called Lavender Lace by SU and the designer paper was from my paper stash. Also used were the Pierced Circles, Fishtail Flags, and Upsy Daisy Die-namics from MFT. The beautiful cross image and word stamp is from Spiritual Sketches by Inkadinkadoo. To finish it off, a pearl was added for the center of the flower.

Here she is on her big day with Father Sanders. She did such a good job. I was so proud of her.

CONGRATULATIONS LUCHIA!
