a whole day? just for.. caring?!

so this week was my first at my new job.. the place is flippin huge, and its total corporation. the ppl i have met so far are pretty nice, and the environment seems pleasant enough. i gotta say though, the colors are a bit drab. we need some more vibrancy in there. ha!

anyways yesterday instead of going to work, it was ibm's annual 'day of caring'.. so i hitched a ride w/ becca up to sauga to meet everyone else at gifts in kind canada. there we were put into teams, and we were told what to do.. packing gifts for children! we made these back to school kits for kids.. it was fun times. such a sweatshop haha we worked like dogs.. everyone was so sweaty and tired. but it was well worth it. there was a prize for the team that did the best, so all these old guys on my team were like all about ruthless efficiency. ie no time to go to the bathroom, doing work during lunch, etc. haha at the end, our team completed 540 some odd bags.. which equaled to 54 bags/person on our team.. the winning team had fewer total bags, but more bags per person. but since it was only like .3 bags off, they gave both our teams prizes.. so i got a cooler/radio. haha funny stuff, i gave it to james as his belated bday present. haha im so smart. or something. haha

afterwards, met up with jenbo!! got to see her new place, which i hear now has grass, and also her fat bunny. apparently she also told me that we gotta let spidey out more. and that putting him in the basement with no lights will make him.. sad. riiiight :D anways, hung around trying to think of something to do.. finally we decided to go to chapters to see if we could find something to burn our encounter gift certs on.. didnt really find anything too interesting, except a jokes book of answers. which really didnt make sense when we tried it out. so we left and got some ice caps, then jenbo drove me back to meet up w/ becca. thanks for the fun times budsy! remember, next time, agenda! haha have a fun time in hk. well, the drive back with becca was fun too, we had a good talk about some people and i think we're gonna have some fun with our friends haha. thanks for the ridessssss..

anyways thats that. hope you're all doing well. tomorrow morning i have an 8am meeting, followed by softball, mixer, and prolly more softball. oh the fun never stops. [stop this ride i want to get off] anyways have a great weekend! see y'all around.

my life for the horde

well, another week done and done. summer is slowly creeping to a close. this wknd was pretty good, lots of fun in the sun, tons of skin cancer on the way, and finally, no nasty bruises to show off on monday!

as mentioned earlier, i finished up my job w/ mcw last thursday, and as of tomorrow i'll be starting a new position at ibm. God's definitely got my back, all through my life, but evidently this summer as well. im very thankful for this opportunity, hopefully it'll work out okay.

what else? summer conference is coming up in a couple of weeks, which should be interesting. our worship team is still working things out, but its a great group of ppl to serve with. im looking forward to that for sure.

oh and its all about war3. you know who you are. lets hit it up. every night. oh yeah baby.

anyways keep cool and have fun, hopefully i'll see some of you around the next lil while, it seems like ive been busy busy busy lately. til then, have a good one.

play that funky music black man..

so this past week has been a lot of fun - first of all, i went to the jazz festival 4 times.. hilights? the daniel barnes quartet.. and the canadian pops orchestra wasnt bad either. but the daniel barnes' bassist guy was pretty gross. playing a 6-string (duh like a guitar!) he was funking it up. and they did this neat lil reggae number at the end of the show, it was awesome. its great going there during lunch/after work, such a chill atmosphere..

the week was also shortened cuz it was canada day on thursday, and they let us have friday off. on thursday i went with shar to go see a musical, like a dinner and a show at stage west in sauga. it was called 'the british invasion 2: america strikes back'. it was a lot of fun and the first time i'd ever seen something like that, good times. they even sang steppenwolf! reminded us of john michael from superstar usa. haha..

on saturday, shar and i had our 1yr10mth [mugs] and we watched 50 first dates together. it was good, except rob schneider is utterly annoying now. seriously, if adam sandler wants to go anywhere in hollywood hes gotta lose the baggage. at night we met up with everyone to watch spidey 2. most ppl didnt like it, but i did! it was exactly what i expected, perhaps a little overdone, but hey, i wasnt complaining. and what a great setup into the third and final one..

yesterday, we umped a couple of games at wigmore, which was fun. this time ken was with us too, for the first game anyways. that second game had just about every single call imaginable. umpires worst nightmare. (or best!!) we had close calls at first, a couple of ultra close slide-ins at second, infield flys, interference, leadoffs, sliding at home, and even an appeal. it was such a close game too, but i thought we umped it the best we could. it's tough when it's that close though, its hard not to have the calls upset some players. anyways the game finished before the torrential downpour came, so we all went to church and had pizza and soup! shar brought her laptop and n64 and we played mt and mp2 for a while, which was lotsa fun!

as for today, well i worked like a dog today! chewed through 3 stacks of water bills in about 3 hours, til my eyes went ceraaaaazy! im kinda going through a transition at work right now, maybe, so we'll see how that goes. probably blog about that in the next couple of days.

also, talked to leo tonight, good chance to catch up with him. hes got some crazy stuff going on in his life, but it's awesome to see how God's kinda showing him stuff through it all. he visited willow creek a bit ago, and apparently it's just plain disgusting. in his words, it makes laurier look like a shed.

and as usual, something to get me through the week... on friday, we're going to see switchfoot!! im so excited its ridiculous. i listened to their CD almost non-stop at work today. yargh! GG SWITCHFOOT! [nagger arent you pumped!]
