the heat is on!
wow! its been a while eh? thanks muchly to my special guest blogger for providing some reading material, but alas, as much as my heart will go on, i return a month later! summers up and running (and borderline half over) and so much has happened, been keeping real busy. a few major things (soo retro!):
1. encounter - what a great experience. tons of good memories, inside jokes, and things learned. lotsa mosquitos, and even though i guess this wasnt really 'roughing it', i think i was born to be wild. im definitely a survivor. and hey as for the worship, we sounded okay! God was definitely there helping us, i guess you could call it rhythm divine. God really revealed himself in a different way this time. one of the organizers i found out was actually a laurier bba grad, and then he went onto do full time ministry work. i was talking to him and he mentioned the usefulness of the bba degree - so totally God has showed me that now i really have something to work towards.
2. etcbc uni fellowship retreat - good times w/ everyone.. a good chance to go back to some old friendships with church peeps, to have some good talks, fun in the sun, and just relax. i realized how much i love skipping stones.. i think it's the most relaxing thing in the world. i skipped one like over this tree branch! like at least 30 ft btwn hops. it was hero.
3. wb superstar usa - ive fallin in love with this show. i watched the finale on monday, looking forward to it for so long, and.. what a major letdown. sooo dissapointing. i wont give away any spoilers, but just watch it tomorrow for yourself and see. there IS one great part though, when mario sings don't wanna miss a thing.. greatest performance in the world. haha
4. softball - begins on saturday.. we havent really had too many practises yet, but im hoping we get to know the ppl on the team a lot more this season and somewhere over the rainbow hopefully speak some truth into each others' lives. oh yeah, and maybe play some softball too.
5. work - boring. oh well.
anyways i was reading the story of joseph today on the subway, and it's really quite a remarkable story. i was telling my friend that it really reminded me of our relationship with God, and how we're like the brothers that screw joe over and sell him into slavery.. and yet over a decade later we return needing him, and the mercy and grace and endless love is just amazing. very powerful story. it really is the greatest love of all.
well then, thats all from me. hope your summers are going fantabulous as always. dont get sunburnt, remember, we dont need another hero. laters!
ps. a cookie to the one who can spot em all.

hi fellow readers of justander...i am special guest blogger "bob". since justin's been too busy and preoccupied with much to do (and i being the complete opposite), i've been chosen to write something for his loyal fans/readers to read.
so as my first blog post EVAR...i think i shall introduce my buddy Justin here, since some of you may only be reading his thoughts, but do not actually know the person who houses such wisdom in his noodles...ahem....
my buddy justin is a very cool buddy indeed.
he always has the perfect song for every occasion, a true music man. he's also very talented and skilled himself as he can play any John Mayer/Shane Barnard song, even on a five-stringed guitar!
not only a music man, but also sports man...he can dunk those baskets with the best of them and hit those softballs with fire! but don't think that justin's just some jock and rockstar, he is also a guy with great personality and character.
he is always there with a helpful and encouraging word and a fork ready in hand to "fork in your eye". as future chairperson of his fellowship, Justin's got the makings of a great leader: good listener, full of great ideas, forgiving, and can chum it with "the little ppl"... but most importantly, he has a desire to hear and do God's will. thumbs up buddy.
unfortunately ladies, this great catch is already taken...however i'm sure you can leave him a wonderful comment here...everybody needs an ego boost sometimes :)
oh yes, he also likes long walks on the beach and heart shaped nut-filled chocolates.
