hot hot hot!
hap'nins:
a) encounter! been crazy busy practising n prepping for it, its in 5 days. jimminy jilickers batman! we're starting to sound more together, and i think we'll be okay - still a ways to go though, in terms of ironing out all the details. im looking forward to it, i think it'll be a great chance to just get away and relax and really set my mind on God, and also have some time away with some good friends. it'll be fun.
b) work.. im so thankful ive got a job, but really now waking up so early is not fun. i guess im goign to start getting used to it, cuz i plan on doing it during the school year too, if everything goes according to plan. summer hours start this friday, where we get off at about noon every friday, but im thinking of just taking the day off anyways. tuesday though, i think im looking at 11 hours straight. oh boy!
c) softball.. had our first practise today, well some of it anyways. from what james told me, we've definitely got a fun team this year that will hopefully be a pleasure to play with. theres some stuff that needs to be taken care of here too, like positioning, etc, but i think this is gonna be a pretty easy-going year.

thoughts:
(taken from ross king's open letter to the christian subculture..)
if your Jesus really is the only answer
why do you find answers in the people you're around?
you've got the latest CDs, you read the hottest authors
but you cannot tell me where the Scripture verse is found
i want something real, but i don't think that you can give it to me
you don't know how I feel, you're too addicted to your life
i'm making my appeal, will you take the time to listen to me?
or are you blinded by the light you never shine?

work work, said the grunt..
and so my summer lasted all of 5 days. i started work last monday - back at the same place as last year. what a blessing to be given this job though, it was so out of the blue. anyways, its a little different this year, just cuz they dont let us have internet (it's not a necessary part of our job description), and ive got no phone. so really, i have to find other things to pass my time, such as copying a whole crapload of my cds to the computer, i think im up to almost 2 gigs now. its hilarious. oh yeah, and i watch the window washers on the other high-rises, pretty jokes. and today a bird came and sat at my window. exciting! i also learned that the best tea is made with 'rolling water'. pretty neat.
so what else is up? well, i get home from work and im pretty tired the rest of the day. somedays i'll hang out with sharon, like tongiht when we watched love actually. and other days naggers like ken will come over and watch some survivor hawtness. other than that, nothing much is new. getting prepped up for encounter which should be interesting. we had our first practise on sunday, and only two more remain. to be honest, im a bit worried, just cuz we've never really all played together before, but meh, we'll leave this one up to God.
for the rest of you, all the best in finding a job. have fun, come find me and we'll hang out.

and so my life is complete.. sorta
today, i attended the change your world conference. during the daytime, the blackabys (blackberrys) spoke, both henry and richard. they're both quite good, both had some very insightful things to say. ie: a bunch of christians with visions will bring spiritual anarchy - we are not to have visions. we are, instead, to have revelations. henry also talked about the need for our generation to get back into the scriptures, which i totally felt was speaking directly into my own life. and its certainly something that God impressed upon my heart today. alongside that, i realized that my faith was perhaps not as strong as i had once thought. and as i look back over the past year, its hard for me to really say i've been letting God work in my life and use me as he sees fit. i think ive reached a point where i need to grow. and not just that, but also develop my character and become who God intended me to be.
at night was the main event (harhar) - my first time hearing louie in person. he was great, even though he recycled a sermon :D but regardless, i got to shake his hand after and talk to him really quickly (cuz there was a long lineup). and that totally made my day. or my week. (month/year) that louie. hes such a popular stud now, all these n00bs are trying to talk to him. sigh. but it was well worth it. i really felt we connected on some deep level. (im totally joking)
anyways, tomlin led worship and this is a new song he did.. i really liked it, but i cant remember much of the rest of it, so here's the chorus:
How great is our God
sing with me
How great is our God
all will see
How great How great is our God
to you, God, i give my worship, honor, glory, devotion.
